This was the first lodge on the Tanzanian leg of my Kenya/Tanzania trip and it didn’t disappoint. The grounds are beautiful. Peacocks, zebra and buffalo can be seen from the tables scattered across the patio area. The staff were friendly and the food was good. They did an amazing hot chocolate! The public areas were well designed and everything was easily accessible. Unfortunately I had a sore throat so was worried about getting a cold and didn’t use the pool. The bedrooms were a little on the basic side, particularly the bathrooms, but comfortable. As a starting point for a safari leaving from Arusha this is a superb option. Would definitely recommend.

Die Lodge ist sehr schön, in einer gepflegten Anlage, angelegt. Die meist jungen Angestellten sind sehr höflich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer selber sind über die Anlage verteilt. Wir hatten wohl ein älteres Zimmer, bei der die Dusche komplett versagte und es zu einer Überschwemmung im Duschraum kam. Das Essen war sehr gut und das gemeinsame Zusammensein am Feuer am Abend war eine neue Erfahrung.

Second time staying at Mt Meru Game Lodge, and it was as good as the last time. This time I was staying with my girlfriend and we only stayed one night, but many of the staff recognised me and I felt very much at home. The bathroom in our room was especially luxurious and we enjoyed walking around the garden in the morning and watching the stars in the evening.

Beautiful garden, very tastefully designed. Cozy campfire in the evening. Very friendly and helpful team. Authentic accommodation. Very good location, close to the road and yet very quiet and idyllic, thanks to the large park-like garden.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mount Meru Game Lodge. After a long flight, we immediately felt relaxed and welcomed. We were greeted by the owner of the lodge, Harry, and offered a hot drink. The staff are extremely polite and could not do enough for us. Definitely service with a smile! The food was delicious and varied, and as vegetarians we felt very well catered for. Pizza night is a must. Our room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Our favourite part of our stay was relaxing in the stunning grounds. They are teeming with fauna and flora and to top it off, are also a great spot to see local wildlife, including; donkeys, water buffalo, monkeys and even a zonkey! If you have time, it is also worth booking an onsite massage. We would absolutely recommend staying at the lodge and are already looking forward to a visit on our next trip to Tanzania.

Wonderful stay in an authentic and lovingly designed house. Very nice, park-like garden, campfire in the evening very cozy. Staff is very friendly and helps in all matters. Easy to reach and yet very quiet due to the large park-like garden.

Very nice and secluded, given the proximity to Arusha and the airport. Large shaded terraces with seating and tables overlook the pond frequented by buffalo, zebras, monkeys, geese and wading birds, and peacocks. Service is very friendly and attentive.

We only stayed here for one night and it was excellent. The grounds are nice and you get to see plenty of wildlife. The rooms are very spacious especially the bathroom which is huge. There is a pool but we didn’t have time to use it. The staff were very attentive and the evening buffet meal and breakfast were very good.

Wir waren hier gleich nach der Ankunft am Flughafen von Arusha. Hatten am Nachmittag eine kleine Wanderung und haben am nächsten Tag den Arusha Nationalpark besichtigt, was eine gute Vorbereitung war für die kommenden Safari Tage. Wir waren mit der Unterkunft, dem Essen, der Lage und dem Service sehr zufriedenund würden es als Startpunkt für die Safaris weiter empfehlen.
