Staying at JR Inn Asahikawa was an absolute delight. This charming four-star hotel, conveniently located right next to the train station, offers not just comfort and convenience but also a unique touch of humor that makes for an unforgettable experience.
From the moment we arrived, the staff’s warm welcome and playful demeanor set the tone for our stay. The front desk team was efficient and knowledgeable, but what truly stood out was their knack for humor. One staff member joked about the weather being “specially ordered” for our arrival, a light-hearted touch that immediately put us at ease.
Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well-appointed with modern amenities. The view of the bustling train station was surprisingly tranquil, offering a unique blend of urban energy and serene comfort. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after a day of exploring.
Overall, JR Inn Asahikawa perfectly blends convenience, comfort, and a delightful sense of humor. The proximity to the train station makes it an ideal choice for travelers, and the wonderful staff ensures that your stay is memorable for all the right reasons. Best amenities. Though the room is not big, I love how they cleverly make good use of every part of the room for functionality. Every space is not wasted and the TV shows the laundry usage situation so you don’t have to queue indefinitely at the laundry area for your turn. One thing to improve on could be having some hanging poles in the toilet so that we can hang our clothes to dry after washing. The dryer at the laundry area doesn’t dry the clothes completely. So we need to extend the dry mode a few more times hence many are hogging the washing machines. Still highly recommended.

The room is quite decent, but the room is very small. It's difficult to walk with the suitcase spread out. However, Japanese hotels are not big. Clean every other day. The hotel's selling points are the hot springs and breakfast. There is only one pool on the women's side, and there are several on the men's side that are said to have open-air hot springs. For breakfast, you can have a bowl of seafood Katsutedon, as well as Biei milk and cantaloupe ice cream.

I’m very surprised by the relatively low rating of this hotel. We had a very good experience here, and found the room to be spacious and comfortable (though fairly typical old-school Japanese hotel). Service was good overall and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel is located in the best part of Asahikawa, near the main train station and the very cool and fun shopping street. The hotel also has an outdoor parking lot located immediately behind the hotel. Our only hiccup was that we arrived slightly before the 1500 check in time (we arrived at 1440) and were told we had to wait until exactly 1500 to check in. This is Japan and I appreciate being a stickler for the rules, but sometimes good customer service is about making calculated exceptions. Maybe next time. We would certainly recommend this place to others.

I asked the front desk about the parking lot because I got on a car rental. I can see the mechanical parking lot next to it, but I personally don't like it very much. I have a car, but there is no plane parking lot? When I asked, is it back? I was returned by the question that I would stay from now on. It is said that I don't say from the conclusion. I would like to see if it is a user from the front desk. But I just want to check if there is no choice but to put it in a mechanical type. No, but I think it is the correct answer to answer that. When I replied that I was checking in from now on, I was asked to ask my name, and the parking lot was 800 yen per night. I don't care about money, but do you listen? There is no plane parking lot? Ask, and finally answer, no. I spent a waste of time with barren exchange. After checking in, when I go to the public bath, the door does not open even though I do as taught. I tried to stop the peepy and error sound many times, and I tried to stop it. When I made it again * without touching the door during peepy said, the key opened. It was a waste of time. Not only ask what you want to hear, but you can't tell me this important thing. The room is normal, not good or not. Breakfast was normal, so it was negative for front desk response. I won't stay next time.

Jinkiskan Daikokuya and Izakaya Tenkin are all within walking distance... It seems like a suitable accommodation to go to Asahidake or Blue Lake Whitebeard Falls... Of course, the staff are friendly... I can't eat the late-night ramen provided by the hotel... There are good restaurants around. There's so much of it that my stomach hurts when I go to the hotel. I tried it one day and it's not bad. It's Soyu Ramen. I recommend the open-air bath and hot spring on the 10th floor.

It's a pity that there is no large communal bath, but it's a gem that doesn't cost 10,000 yen with breakfast despite the top season on Saturday, July 8, adjacent to Biei Station & ”Michi no Eki Oka no Kura”. The room is small and simple, and it is glad that the bus toilet is independent. Before Corona, I was able to eat dinner at the 1 F restaurant, but the restaurant was still not open. There is a convenience store in front of the station, and there is a 7-Eleven about 5 minutes walk, so I made a delicious dinner with my favorite side dish ・ ingredients and alcohol. It is also good to base Furano sightseeing, Asahikawa sightseeing, and Tokachidake mountain foot sightseeing. You can enjoy all the sightseeing spots with plenty of room for 2 nights.

A homestay run by the two couples is clean and tidy. The room has a bathroom, but the bath has to go to the first floor. The Western breakfast is good. It is about 3 kilometers away from Meiyi Station. After arriving at Meiyi Station, call the landlord and the landlord will come to pick it up; it will be delivered to the station when you leave.
Very good experience, recommended.

We wanted to hike to Mt. Asahidake during the Koyo (Fall foliage) season, and among the properties at the base of the mountain, La Vista Daisetsuzan appeared to be the highest end accommodation in the area. Both the outside and inside of the lodge are charming and rustic in appearance, but are definitely showing clear signs of age and wear. In fact, while taking a dip in the communal Onsen (natural hot springs) bath, I overheard two men remarking how the place was ”boro boro” (Japanese for ”really worn down.”) Thankfully, we were relieved to find that La Vista Daisetsuzan was at least quite clean, and did not exhibit the old, moldy smell that is commonplace in older properties. And the dining room seems to have been renovated - we enjoyed our dinner here (more on that in a moment.) We stayed in their ”Luxury Room,” the highest category unit that was a relatively spacious 56m² open-plan Junior Suite. Other rooms on premises are quite a bit smaller, but people used to staying in standard rooms at Marriott-class properties will be more than satisfied with these room types. La Vista Daisetsuzan has a communal, gender-segregated Onsen on site - there is both an indoor and open-air outdoor bath, which is appreciated, especially in the Winter months, given that you'll want to warm up in the indoor bath before jumping into the outdoor one. While we did not have breakfast at the property (we wanted to get an early start on our hike, and we're glad that we did - the sky is more clear and there are less crowds), we had the French-Japanese dinner. To say that the meal exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. We're in Hokkaido, and an hour from the nearest city (Asahikawa), yet every dish was creative, beautifully presented and a feast for the eyes and palate. Everything - from the tuna tartare to the mini quiche to the Foie Gras to the al dente pasta with mushrooms and broccoli - was a highlight. The only serving that did not hit the spot was the main (ocean-) fish dish. The fish was hard and dry - when you're in the center of Hokkaido, perhaps they should focus on other ingredients, or at least serve fish that are fine frozen (like Tuna) or that come from the nearby rivers or lakes. Overall, if we were to make a return trip to the area, we would be more than fine with staying again at La Vista Daisetsuzan. In no way is this a destination unto itself, but if our short but pleasant stay is any indication, it's a very solid higher-end option in Daisetsuzan. It definitely blows away the vast majority of lodges in U.S. National Parks, that's for sure!

Outstanding
BBOVery general, the price is not high. First of all, there is no restaurant nearby. We don’t know which predecessor said that the store will produce delicious soba noodles. ! Secondly, the sound insulation is particularly bad, plus we stayed in the next night, 12 young men (the names on the doors of both rooms, I counted, one six, add up to twelve) and sipped at two in the morning. Drunk, open a party in the room. I am angered, directly slammed the door, the Chinese, English and Japanese three words together, went downstairs to call the doorkeeper uncle. Finally, I can't communicate. The front desk and I also hold the same kind of translation, and talk to each other.
QQingshuangcanxueThe room was quite good, a standard apartment. The bathroom was a bit small. The washing machine shelf was not installed securely. The washing machine almost wandered into the room. There was dust under the washing machine and it was not cleaned. The hotel is in a very good location, close to JR station and close to shopping malls, restaurants and supermarkets. The hotel does not provide an email address, only a phone number and does not understand Chinese or English. Every time something happens, I have to ask Ctrip to make suggestions. It is recommended that Ctrip develop a chat page with the landlord similar to Airbnb.
GGuest UserSince you are traveling by car, you don’t have to be near public transportation. But the location of the hotel is pretty good. It only takes 10 minutes to walk to the famous Genghis Khan Barbeque for dinner. When I was driving to leave the next day, I discovered that there was a convenience store on the other side of the corner. ⋯I went to a hotel far away the night before, haha
RRelax68091772087We had some problems getting to the hotel, as Google maps insisted on pointing us to another deserted building down the street (which also had a sign Takasago onsen). Once we got in, it turned out nobody at the reception spoke any English, luckily one of the other guests who was just checking in volunteered to interpret. It turned out that they wanted to notify us that the AC in our room was broken (it was 35 degrees outside). After refusing to accept that room, they gave us another room with a working AC. The hotel itself is very similar to other big spa hotels we stayed in, reasonably comfortable rooms, big buffet meals, but the quality of the food was so so, but the highlight of the place was the onsen, with about 10 inside pools and a nice outside jacuzzi. I guess that was the big attraction for all the tourist groups.
송송이The twin room accommodation is quite large, so I left two suitcases, and the overall facilities are a bit old. I'm surprised to open it up and enter at night. ㅠ Please refer to the bread for breakfast, but I can eat drinks and soup infinitely, so I drank it often. ㅎㅎ Drinks are water melon soda coffee ginger ale There are three kinds of soup, soup is the best. The location is very close to the station or bus stop, very convenient. It was good The staff are small but friendly
MmitomonBecause it is an old hotel Leopard Asahikawa, there is a Leopard office at the entrance, and it may not be seen at the entrance of the hotel for a moment. 20 If you check in by the time, you can have a drink 1 cup free (alcohol). The parking lot is a bit difficult to understand, but the cospa and location are good, so I want to use it again.
GGuest UserIt is a little far from the station, but it is not a distance that can't walk. There were drinkers and restaurants nearby. The room is old, not clean, and the outside of the window is the wall of the next building. It was a room with an extra bed (total 3 floor) set in a large double (there was an explanation from the hotel side at check-in), and it was difficult to walk in the room, and it felt narrow. A little arrangement in the room? Some places, but there were old but necessary things, and there was no inconvenience. I thought it was a general commercial business hotel, not for resort travel in Hokkaido.
GGuest UserThe front desk was very cheap, but it was very cheap, but it was kind, luxurious and delicious breakfast, clean and comfortable room, saxophone Wifi, beautiful TV I relaxed. Because it was a little dry because of the warming of the room, it was warmer when I humidized a little bit with a pot to boil hot water for tea for cold countermeasures. I thought it would have been nice to wet and dry because there was a beautiful towel in the room. It was very cold outside, but the futon was warm, the room was large enough, the necessary things were arranged, and the simplicity was calm and very comfortable. It is very convenient near the station, transportation, convenience stores and shops. It is located in a not conspicuous place behind the donut shop in the main street shopping park of Asahikawa, but it is a place that is easy to understand.
NNiuquduoduoBecause I had to fly from Asahikawa to Shanghai, I chose this budget hotel1.3 kilometers away from Asahikawa Station. The tatami triple room was small, but considering the cheap price, the price was OK. Breakfast is two sets of Japanese and Western styles. The hotel does not have hot springs. This is a little regrettable.
HHappiness807510It is a little far from the station, so it is convenient to move by car. However, there is no parking lot in the hotel, and it is no problem because it stops in the parking lot nearby and ticket processing is done. There is also a supermarket about 5 minutes walk.
