Raceways Motel

Couldn't get an airport hotel for love or money, for a conference at the airport so went back to a cheaper backstreet motel not far from the airport that I had often used previously. The moderately priced Raceway had everything you needed for a pleasant overnight stay at a price that is almost unbelievable in Brisbane. And it is walking distance to the many restaurants.in Racecourse Road. If you're not wanting a flash expensive Hotel but something that does the job, I highly recommend Raceway.

We have travelled extensively all over Australia staying in motels and this one was by far the worst. It smelt, had attempted to be painted but there was more paint on everything else apart from the walls, very noisy, just had a very grotty feel to it. The only thing it had going for it was position. Would never stay here again and would not recommend it.

Very good and in a good location. Lovely cafes within walking distance. Welcoming hosts. Only had to stop one night but would come again when in Brisbane.

My daughter's bed had bedbugs. and. is covered in them, we were told another six rooms also had them, management did nothing so. we had to move to. another motel this place should be. reported, disgusting place to go. Because we booked for 4 days we should get our room refunded, management did not help at all.

This is the most disgusting motel I have ever seen. I cannot begin to explain - reception was filthy - it looked like people were living there with old rusty cars, kids toys outside rooms, the rooms smelt terrible and were not clean. I had to leave and stay somewhere else - I am not sure how this motel is allowed to operate - it was more like a "shelter" than a motel - do not stay there.

Upon arrival first impression was very clean and within walking distance to all amenities in the Hamilton precinct .The motel offers a generous size swimming pool with BBQ facilities and undercover areas the swimming pool is clean and inviting. This hotel is ran by a lovely couple who assisted us with a very clean and friendly stay. The motel is situated close to a choice of cafes, restaurants and Port side with its shops are all with in walking distance the water is less then 100m away.

Stayed for 2 nights after a long flight from UK. It was easy getting to Raceways by taxi from the airport . The location for getting into Brisbane was ideal, only a short walk to city cat ferry terminal, Brett's Ferry Warfe, then the cat takes right into the city. Lots of stops on the way if you want to explore. Use the gocard to travel with, it's easy hopping on and off. The motel was very clean and Fred is very friendly and helpful. The rooms could do with an update, but as we we're only there to sleep they we're OK. The swimming pool clean and inviting. If we ever needed to repeat our stopover we would stay again.

We booked this.place site unseen as it was close to.airport and city. We went off the photos which promised so.much. however upon arriving we realized the photos must have been taken in its heyday. For the price I wasn't impressed with the room. We has 8 daze here omg I thought ***. However as the daze passed we realized what a rough diamond this place actually is. Ez walking distancet to all amenities in the Hamilton precinct, outstanding eatery such as cafe63 the verandah the hamo pub the city cat river ferries(DONT DO THE BUSES) the ferry is far superior. So for that fact alone we enjoyed the Raceway. It does need some TLC tho.

10/10 very helpful and Understanding. This hotel is ran by a lovely couple who assisted us with a very clean and friendly stay. When we arrived we didn't have enough money to pay for the week and where going through a hard time and the owners of the motel where more then happy to assist us. Allowed us to stay and pay them on our payday. We couldn't be more thankful for there kindness and generosity. There hospitality and management are 10/10. I recommend this motel if your looking for an easy stay with friendly staff and owners. We met them as strangers and left as friends. The motel offers a generous size swimming pool with BBQ facilities and undercover areas. They provide laundry facilities at a low cost and each room has a kitchenette and comfy beds! The motel also offers free to play tennis on there large tennis court and provide bats and balls and no cost at all! They also stock a large number of DVDs at the front reception available to rent for $2 each. The motel is also situated close to a shopping centre, Woolworths, public transport and the water is less then 100m away. ( Great for an afternoon walk)Taking you back to the good old days. To sum up my review I highly recommend this hotel to anyone whom is looking for an affordable family friendly motel. This place is just perfect! Love always, Jane, Liam and the 4 kids.
