The room was very dirty. The sheets were dirty and pillows had disgusting stains on them. We had to ask for fresh sheets and new pillows. They grabbed pillows from the room across the hall. We were afraid to take off the pillow case to check for more stains so we just never used them. Breakfast was good. The breakfast attendants were very nice.

This hotel was really good. We were greeted and checked in by a very pleasant employee (sorry I did not catch her name) who recognized us as reward members, gave us 2 bottles of water, told us not only what time breakfast would be offered but even told us what was going to be served, and checked with us after we got to our room to ensure everything was OK. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was as expected and filled as needed. A very nice representation of the brand.

There is not a whole lot to choose from in the area, and of what is available, this is one of the better properties. We needed a place to stay for our kids orientation at the University. Location was good, but then again in a small town everything is close. Everything about the stay was fine, nothing stands out, but thats good. Hot tub was welcomed after walking around campus all day, pool was clean, however was not heated as stated. Room was clean and comfy. I would stay here again during a future stay.

We have stayed at the Hampton Inn in Athens several times and the staff is great, very courteous and helpful. One area that needs work is the gym. It’s very small and when we visited the lowest weights were 15lb and two of the three cardio machines were not working.

I was given a $142/night rate upon check-in, but I did not elect to get a printed receipt. Big mistake. Swiped my debit card and moved on. Upon check-out I was told everything was fine & they would send me an email receipt. Next day, the original charge was reversed and I was charged $260/night. Talked to front desk and manager to no avail. Ask manager for her leader’s name, but she wouldn’t provide it. Found owner’s name online and emailed him. Crickets. Bottom Line: Get a receipt of the rate upon check-in; otherwise, the Hampton Inn in Athens can reverse your debit card transaction and charge you the rate they want. Learn from my $378 mistake.

This Hampton sits up on a hill off the highway. Which makes it very quiet. It is clean and staff very nice. It has a nice spacious parking lot. Many restaurants are close and easy to get to. Many are in walking distance. Pizza Hut will also deliver to your room. I gave it 4 stars because I had to go to lobby to get extra towels.
