AmericInn by Wyndham Oscoda Near AuSable River

We stayed here on one night in Oscoda for a fishing trip. They took a late reservation from us, relatively late check in, and provided exactly what we needed. The room was clean and comfortable. I can’t speak to the breakfast, as we went out, but the location was close to the river.

I had a room with a king size bed very big and spacious room enjoyed it very much. The room had a microwave refrigerator large TV. The desk clerk was very polite very accommodating and new his job well the only problem was they were working on the parking lot during my stay

We stayed here a couple of years ago, it wasn't bad then, but it is great now! New owners are in the process of refurbishing the rooms. The hotel lobby is clean, and so are the rooms. Our room has a little coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. We will definitely be staying here again!

Great lake side view rooms with clean surroundings. I liked the stay here. The staff are friendly and nice pool. Nice complimentary breakfast. Peace and calm place with their personal place for the grill in the backyard next to the river. Awesome experience

Hot tub motor was loud and smoked couldn't use without fear of fire. Staff had to reset plug under tub and said the noise was fine.

This place has potential but it needs a lot of work. The price is great but it feels pretty unwelcoming. When I checked in the front desk attendant was on his ear buds having a phone call. He said something I didnt understand and when I asked to clarify, he just gestured to his ear buds to indicate he wasnt talking to me. I had to interrupt his personal call to ask what time breakfast was available. Did not feel welcoming. The room was decent. Beds were comfortable. The tub stopper did not work in the bath and the shower curtain was ripped. The toilet seat has no lid/cover so every flush sprays the towel rack. Not ideal. The exterior doors appear to have a key system to only allow guests in but they do not work. The hot tub was empty. It was not roped off. Just an empty hole in the floor. Again, not ideal. The fridge was so cold it froze our food even on the lowest setting. Breakfast was nice. Waffles, yogurt, cereal, pastries, eggs, sausage. Solid. We are satisfied with our stay for what we paid but I would recommend that if you are staying here you lower your expectations.

Pros: WiFi was fast, they had waffles as an option for breakfast plus some other stuff, outdoor area on the river, A/C was amazing, tv had multiple channel options, mini fridge and microwave. Pillows/bed were good. Cons: urine build up on toilet hinges, drains in shower and sink had black gunk build up that was coming off. no laundry option available, pool area had a lot of storage boxes pilled up and was nothing like the pictures.

The place was dirty, building in need of repairs and amenities not working such as the hot tub and dark pool area. The cost should be about half of what they charge for this quality of lodging.
