Rooms are much too tiny...., with poor space enhancement... welcome staff are great, and very willing to help you for anything. This makes a huge difference, hotel being well located but not amazing.

The decoration is a bit exaggerated comedy style, I like it, and it is convenient to stroll around the nearby shopping district

The overall hotel environment and living conditions are very satisfactory. The location of the hotel is also good. 10 minutes walk from the beach. Breakfast is on the 15th floor, with a good view. The breakfast is also very rich, the taste is good, and you can choose to order meals in the package. On the 16th floor of the roof is the sky bar, there are many people and beautiful women. There are also various adult* bars around the hotel. Shopping is not far away, and major luxury goods gather around.

At that time, I chose a room with a city view, so I was assigned the first room out of the elevator. The sound of the elevator entrance and exit and the voices of people talking in the corridor outside are very clear and noisy. Secondly, because the location of the room is facing the intersection of 2 streets, and the bar is very lively at night, you can hear it clearly in the room. A large part of the reason should be that the hotel's window glass is extremely poor, and secondly, the overall sound insulation is also extremely poor. Therefore, that night, it took 5 o'clock in the morning to forcefully fall asleep. I was exhausted, and my heart was beating with the music outside. Woke up the next day very very angry and called the front desk to ask for a quieter room. The front desk service attitude of the hotel was very good, and they expressed their understanding, and quickly changed to a room on a higher floor, next to a quiet street. But the room doesn't have any view at all, looking out of the window is a broken building. Secondly, the voices in the aisle can still be heard clearly. Fortunately, I only stayed for 2 nights. Every time I think about this check-in experience, I am really devastated.

Friendly, quirky and memorable. I’d rate The So/ Auckland as up there with my favourite city hotels. Firstly the staff are superb. Both friendly and attentive. They know their stuff and get you sorted quickly. On arrival I was warmly greeted and an upgrade was offered which is always brilliant. I was shown to the lift and the room was fantastic. Club access was also great; a really memorable member of staff worked there over both days and the food (canapés) was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed reading some of the books on offer too. When I called for service from room, my call was answered within three rings on three separate occasions. The So/Fit area in basement was very pleasant though I thought would have been much better in a floor with a view. The restaurant and cocktail floor were great too. Superb food at breakfast and for a dinner. Cocktails: I only tried a whisky sour as, erm, enjoyed caretaker over the road a bit too much before arriving there. It was very good. So overall, I’d say the hotel does all the important stuff very well but gets the little things So/ very right too. Thanks to the team; I’ll definitely be back!

I attended the Fluidity: Art & Wine Pairing evening at the gallery and had the most unexpected and amazing sensory experience. Not only were the art and wine thought provoking, but they made me pause for thought and consider the parallels between colours, taste and interpretation. It was intriguing to hear the stories behind their connections. Rachel Rush's artwork was so dynamic and fascinating and so complemented by the Alpha Domus wine. I would also like to compliment Eva, Joanne & Roy (and their teans) for the flawless delivery of such a memorable experience.
Response from Property: Hello ninjakitten007, Sounds like you had a brilliant time at SO/ Gallery yesterday. It was a pleasure to have you with us. Stay tuned for more events coming soon. Sincerely, Julie Cavaillon Front Office Manager SO/ Auckland

"We recently stayed at SO/Auckland Hotel and had an incredible experience. The room was spacious and immaculately clean, with all the amenities one could need. The hotel's location was perfect, providing easy access to local attractions, Shopping centre and basically everything. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the amazing staff. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. Special shoutout to IKE and YANIS, who went above and beyond to ensure all our needs were met. IKE provided attention to detail and genuine care for guests made all the difference. I highly recommend So/Auckland Hotel to anyone visiting the Auckland. The combination of luxurious accommodations and top-notch service makes it a standout choice. I can't wait to return!"

Absolutely loved our stay. The lobby is beautiful and the staff are excellent - super accommodating and very helpful. Our room (So Playful) was gorgeous and a great place to unwind and relax. The buffet breakfast was delicious and the freshly squeezed orange juice was awesome. Will definitely stay here again and will recommend to family and friends.

Location - very good, central, everything walkable Room - fine. Mine was v large. Only observation is that the guys fitting it out, did not work with the electrical designer. So lots of trailing wires, nowhere to plug things in etc. Bit design over substance. Breakfast - just fantastic. Sunrise views over the bay. Incredibly high quality food and coffee. And the best DIY juice bar I have found in any hotel anywhere. Loved it. Pool - 20m in the basement. Liked it a lot. Great way to do laps to get over jet lag. Rates were good. Stayed at Park Hyatt by comparison. It's far more luxurious but the location is very tricky compared to SO with the bridge closed if you are doing business in the CBD.

Fantastic place to stay in Auckland City. From the easy booking experience through Accor to the welcoming staff at the valet and front desk. Complimentary drinks, complimentary mini bar (excl. alcohol) awesome room with an open bathroom area, clean, super comfortable bed, great look and feel all round. The staff were impeccable throughout. The restaurant food was also brilliant. The only thing I was confused about was no plug in the bathroom area for my hair straighteners. Have stayed at many hotels in Auckland City and I rate this with one of the best by far. Will definitely be back.

This is hotel is on Gore Street. Very close to Britomart and walkable to the Viaduct and Sky Tower. It’s convenient as Auckland is a very walkable city. Service was amazing. I was greeted by a friendly front desk staff. He quickly checked me in and offered to take my bags up to my room. He explained the facilities of the hotel which was helpful. Once he took my bags to the So Urban Room. He explained the features of the room too. The room was large and had a comfortable king bed with an awesome mattress topper which made for a wonderful sleep. There was a complimentary non-alcoholic mini bar with a selection of water, soft drinks, and juice. There was some mini chocolate bars too. The room has an open concept bathroom too. The bathtub was located in front of the tv. Make sure you close the blinds before taking a bath or shower for privacy. The shower has a rainfall showerhead. It was large space and great water pressure. The toilet is hidden away however doesn’t have a door. Rooms are best for singles or couples as family or friends may find the bathroom layout a bit awkward. There is rooftop bar on the 16th floor called Hi So which has great view of the harbour. On the ground floor next to reception called Mixo. Also on this level is Javalab which is their coffee shop which served Hummingbird Coffee and a selection of cakes and pastries. There is another restaurant on level 15 called Harbour Society. I tried their indoor heated pool and gym on basement level. The pool was nice sized lap pool and appreciated that it was of a nice temperature. There was also a spa and a sauna too. The gym was well equipped with lots of modern equipment. It had a view of the pool so didn’t feel like a basement as well lit. The So Spa is also located on this level. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Fantastic, friendly service from all the staff. Room very clean and bed so comfortable. Only one negative no power points near the bathroom or mirror. HiSo Bar is great and breakfast had a fabulous selection with more fruit etc in offer this time which was nice to see, definitely something for everyone here with awesome views. Looking forward to our next visit.

Luxury. Everything was great. Staff were helpful, happy and friendly. Service was awesome. Rooms were super comfortable and well equipped. I could have stayed longer. Views from the restaurant are the best. Location is fantastic. Local Cafés and eateries all great alternatives.
