What a terrible experience all around. First, I booked a "lake side" view and got a view of the next building. Second, I was charged $28 a day plus tax for "Amenities". When I called to ask what those where some ignorant chick said "It's like paddle boarding, scooters, you know, every guest gets charged for it", and then she hung up on me. I didn't use the mini fridge, and they didn't even have basic muffins or juice for breakfast so the amenities are BS. The decor is marketing as some hip, eclectic "vide" but its just and old building. The elevator smelled disgusting, and the carpet was so worn out I don't think they've ever changed it.

The room's AC was inconsistent, difficult to find the right temperature. The room we had was right behind the elevators so it was hard to sleep hearing them going nonstop til 3am. The bathroom was also extremely dark and hard to even see yourself in the mirror.

The actual payment was much higher than the price shown online, and I felt cheated.

This hotel is pathetic. If you’re looking for is the feeling that you’re in a jail cell with no light and 7 foot tall ceilings. This is the place for you. Additionally, you get TVs with wires hanging out all over from them that look like spaghetti sticking out of the wall with no furniture. You looked through American Express that says you should get an upgrade when you arrive, when you arrive, you can see clearly on their website that all room types are available, and they will tell you that you have to pay for an upgrade, even though it is part of the American Express hotel collection benefits. This hotel should not be considered in any way. I would rather stay at a motel six. The air-conditioning in the room did not work. The people did not care that these were problems.

Feeling super disappointed because there is some noise all around the hotel because of construction and as a light sleeper they didn’t accomodate to change my room. They said they would sort it out I waited more than 2 hours to give them time and they actually didn’t come up with any solution. They didn’t call me to let me know when I would have preferred to at least get informed earlier. I just felt not taken care to be honest. The carpet is not even in shape the room which makes me feel weird

We are Hinton people, but thought we’d try something different. I get if you want to have some weird lighting ambience in the room, but you have to put lighting in the bathroom for people to put their makeup on. There is none. The bed is comfortable, but for the price there’s really nothing upscale about this place. If you wanna say you paid a lot for very little, than this is your vibe. Our confirmation said parking would be $39 a night. The desk clerk laughed and said that must’ve been an old email. He wouldn’t even look at it. He was nice but negative about the town and the hotel. We could hear the elevators all day and all night. This is such an oversight. It’s not just because the elevators were five rooms from ours, it’s literally just not thinking about soundproofing. Spending more money for weird countertops in the bathroom that are sloped, so everything falls off instead of soundproofing your elevator mechanism is so typical of these motels pretending to be upscale hotels. I would skip this place and stick with the Marriotts, Hiltons, even Embassy Suites. The Arlo restaurant was incredible.

Pretty terrible experience here on my 4th visit to the hotel. I wont be returning . Hotel is tired, and in need of some “refreshment” . Dirty carpets in hallways, got locked in our bathroom by self locking door that is broken, kettle delivered to room that doesn’t work, and worst of all one of the 2 elevators for East tower rooms not working (and hasn’t been for 2 weeks according to staff) which with a hotel at capacity meant a minute wait yesterday to get down from my room to ground ! The bar restaurant on the 6th floor now has a a reduced menu from previous years and is average at best. Serving staff are great, but unpleasant attitude from front desk staff to cap it all. I will stay at the Standard when it opens next time in Austin.

Great location for viewing the Bats (if they show up, which they didnt for our visit!!!) A very buzzy place, not ideal for intimate conversation, but a great venue. Food was good, especially the tapas style for sharing.
