Went on a girls trip here recently and was not only severely disappointed with the lack of cleanliness and hospitality but also felt physically unsafe here. There was a male manger type character who made me and the gals feel threatened and uncomfortable throughout the duration of our stay. He was consistently inappropriate, specifically in a situation where a couple of us were left alone in a lift with him, his whole nonchalant demeanour immediately changed once the elevator door closed -putting arm around us, leering, suggestive comments, I’m sure you can imagine. The following night at dinner the same man took our order where he proceeded his aggressive and downright disrespectful behaviour, carelessly flinging menus our way etc. we suspect this is due to the fact we didn’t entertain his advances from the night before. We would have been willing to let the horrible hospitality and lack of decorum go if it weren’t for the lack of cleanliness. Upon arrival to our hotel room -after a very tedious and frustrating check in- we discovered unbecoming marks in the bathroom, no fresh towels or toilet roll, an infestation of ants in the kitchen area and not to mention the cleaners failed to arrive once throughout the entirety of our stay. The saving grace would be the air conditioning in our room and the lovely female reception workers who brightened our stay toward the checkout period. However I’m afraid this was too little too late and the cons outweighed the pros by tenfolds. There was also a very spacious balcony, although this was soured by the fact that you were unable to speak at a mid-level volume without being shouted at by security guards below on the street. On one occasion, the same manager man -we’re all familiar with by now- took the liberty of letting himself into our room to scold and threaten us. I’m not a complainer. I like to have fun and I can usually put up with a lot -being a hospitality worker myself. I know how stressful these jobs can be but I find myself unable to find excuses for the way me and my girls were treated throughout our stay.
