Premier Inn Ayr A77/Racecourse

Stayed for one night, rooms and breakfast great but the evening meals in the restaurant were terribly overcooked. The squid in salt and pepper crumb - most of the crumb had come off and was like dark brown grit on the plate, the squid was like rubber. Fish and chips-what a joke, the first time ever i have had to chew fish. The batter was dark brown and also needed chewing. The staff were all young and when we complained we were told that 'we like really crispy batter up here'. Somebody needs to do some serious retraining in Ayr.

Spotlessly clean rooms and communal areas, beds were comfortable A nice touch was the nightlight in the bathroom, plenty of sockets and USB ports although it might be a good idea for a slim shelf to be installed under these as unless your charging cords are very long your phones or other electrical equipment will just dangle in mid air. Reasonably priced and definitely one of the best Premier Inns we have stayed in.

We have just endured a 1-night stay in this poor hotel, and we will not return. The 2 stars are for the staff (Laura and the young chap whose badge said In Training), who were very good; and the dinner, which was also good. Breakfast was poor, limited choice and not well-cooked. The “continental” selection no longer features any cold meats nor cheeses, but it does feature plenty of stale bread. Yum….. Our room (228 I think), was so far away from the hotel’s network router that the Wi-Fi wouldn’t connect. The “heating” managed to reach a suggested 20 degrees, and would go no higher, therefore we had a freezing night in the room, and looked forward to the alarm clock so that we could go to work instead! Obviously we couldn’t call down to Reception to report the problem, because these sub-standard accomodations do not even offer a phone in the rooms. Never again, and I would strongly recommend others to avoid too!

Excellent hotel. Exceptional Service! Could not do enough for you. I was staying with my granddaughter and they were very helpful. The travel cot was fantastic new and spotless as was the room. Very friendly staff! The meal was amazing value and the breakfast was fantastic. I cannot praise the staff enough. 5 star and more

Team were helpful, friendly and accomadating. Accessable room and wetroom bathroom perfect for needs.

Stayed in Premier Plus room. Really enjoyed quality of room and service. The girls in restaurant were good in the evening. I am coeliac and choices were limited but food was fine. Recommend the meal deal for value as includes breakfast. Breakfast usual buffet affair at premier inn. The staff made the experience good - well done girls.

Modern, clean hotel. Unfriendly check in staff who could barely be bothered to speak to me whe arrived before 3pm. Told me room was ready yet at 220pm I'd have to pay £10 if I wanted in before 3! Yes it is now the (ridiculous) policy I believe but you can be friendly and welcoming. Turned another customer away at 230pm! Basically wait in the bar and don't bother me until 3! Heard further rudeness to another later in evening. In summary hotel decent, some staff not so great!

Very clean hotel, room was modern and clean. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Lovely bathroom with walk in shower. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help you. We had breakfast in the restaurant and it was very good value and plenty of choice. Very good and accommodating for children re meals and fresh milk. Excellent location and handy to park as plenty of room.
