Premier Inn Ayr A77/Racecourse

The hotel is easy enough to find with loads of parking. Note: if turning right from Heathfield road into Wheatpark road be careful of the traffic lights as they are not synced! When the facing traffic light was red the oncoming light was still green - pretty dangerous in my mind! As one might expect the decor is fresh and reception was staffed with friendly smiling faces. Checking in was a doddle. Security cards are needed to use the lift - a stay safe feature. The room was nicely laid out with clean crisp bedding extending to brilliant white towels in the bathroom. (Whilst soap in a squeeze bottle is provided, it’s fairly ordinary stuff even though branded Baylis and Harding) The hotel provided two cards for the room. One for entry and the lift and the other to keep the power alive aka the heating. A nice touch as the weather was freezing! We did use the bar facility - great service, but not particularly cheap. At breakfast the normal hot buffet was replaced with an ordering fresh from the kitchen. That food arrived as ordered - piping hot. There was also a selection of cereals, fresh fruit salad, yogurts, breads as well as a range of teas and coffees. My only recommendation was that the bread needed covering as the ambient temperature had started drying it out. Checking out was ultra quick too with more smiling faces - really set up our day. This was a very relaxing short stay.

Room decorated to a high standard,modern and comfortable. Tea/coffee facilities in room and you can pick up extra supplies from reception. Bed sooo comfy . Plenty parking facilities at front,rear and side of hotel. Great Retail park a few minutes away when Plenty take away places,greggs,Costa,subway and burger king. Prestwich and ayr a few miles away. All in all a great stay at a reasonable price.

Great staff, polite, friendly and very helpful, very good with gluten allergies and do everything to the book when it comes to allergies. Kirsty and Andrea (I think is her name😬)and the other 2 members on this evening are the best we have met in every premier Inn hotels in the UK we have used. Definitely our first choice when around the area where it's possible and viable.

Stayed for one night, rooms and breakfast great but the evening meals in the restaurant were terribly overcooked. The squid in salt and pepper crumb - most of the crumb had come off and was like dark brown grit on the plate, the squid was like rubber. Fish and chips-what a joke, the first time ever i have had to chew fish. The batter was dark brown and also needed chewing. The staff were all young and when we complained we were told that 'we like really crispy batter up here'. Somebody needs to do some serious retraining in Ayr.

We have just endured a 1-night stay in this poor hotel, and we will not return. The 2 stars are for the staff (Laura and the young chap whose badge said In Training), who were very good; and the dinner, which was also good. Breakfast was poor, limited choice and not well-cooked. The “continental” selection no longer features any cold meats nor cheeses, but it does feature plenty of stale bread. Yum….. Our room (228 I think), was so far away from the hotel’s network router that the Wi-Fi wouldn’t connect. The “heating” managed to reach a suggested 20 degrees, and would go no higher, therefore we had a freezing night in the room, and looked forward to the alarm clock so that we could go to work instead! Obviously we couldn’t call down to Reception to report the problem, because these sub-standard accomodations do not even offer a phone in the rooms. Never again, and I would strongly recommend others to avoid too!

Excellent hotel. Exceptional Service! Could not do enough for you. I was staying with my granddaughter and they were very helpful. The travel cot was fantastic new and spotless as was the room. Very friendly staff! The meal was amazing value and the breakfast was fantastic. I cannot praise the staff enough. 5 star and more
