We have just returned from a week in this fantastic hotel. In fact, one of the best hotels that we have stayed in. The food was excellent, the rooms were spacious, clean and warm, and the staff were all friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. We'd like to say a big thank you to both the staff and management for a lovely stay. Our holiday was booked through Crystal Ski and although this is nothing to do with the Hotel Post, we have no other way of sharing our experience as there are no opportunities to review the Ski Holiday itself. We are however going to write separately to Crystal Ski, but feel compelled to let other people know what they will be faced with if they choose this location for their ski holiday. As we were not accompanied by a Crystal Ski Rep on the bus to Badgastein, we were simply dropped off at the Railway Station. Unfortunately the driver did not know where the hotel was located and so we got lost and had to ask local people for directions. The hotel is located down a steep slope/steps between a row of shops and a petrol station thus making it really difficult carrying skis up and down from the bus stop/ski lift, and similarly when you have all your luggage on arrival/departure. Please note that there is no Crystal Ski representation either in resort or at the hotel, and so you have only Austrian mobile numbers to call/text if you have any questions. Note also that the mobile numbers are unavailable on a web-based app such as Telegram, Whatsapp, facebook messenger etc., so you'll need to have an international calling plan to be able to call them! Prior to our departure we had a "generic" message advising that we would be picked up from outside our hotel which is not possible due to access, we had to call the company for further clarification to be told that we had to make our way back to the Railway Station with all of our bags and ski gear. This was made a little easier by using the lift (whilst not in ski gear) in the sister hotel opposite (Salzburger Hof). However, even though it currently states on the Crystal Ski website that you can use the Salzburger Hof Hotel lift to get up the hill to the ski lift (presumably in ski boots with one's skis), this is UNTRUE. The Hotel Post/Salzburger Hof do not allow skiers to use the lift whilst wearing ski boots/with skis, as one has to trek through the hotel corridors/reception to exit out the other side! One option is to store Ski equipment at the lift station at a cost of 25 Euros per person, per week, but this then means you have to collect your equipment then come back down to the road if you wish to use the bus to access one of the other three ski areas! This simply adds to the logistics when traveling to the other resorts by bus.
