My wife and I have been to Villa La Massa several times in the past few years, and each time we promised ourselves that we would someday share our favorite hotel with our entire family, perhaps to celebrate a big occasion. Well, we finally did it! We have always been impressed by the polished, personal and warmly elegant hospitality on prior visits, but the true test would be this time with our party of eight + toddler. I am happy to report that every member of our family agreed that Villa La Massa exceeded even our prior rave reviews! From the exceptionally beautiful rooms with Arno views to the two inspired onsite restaurants to the pool & spa facilities, VLM is a relaxing bit of paradise, yet is only a short hotel-van ride to the excitement and treasures of Florence. We can't thank the wonderful staff enough for making even our youngest traveler feel so welcome -- and the rest of our party is still talking about our remarkable family celebration! Sound good? It is! (And we've already booked our return visit...)

We visited Hu Camping because it had the services we wanted whilst being really close to Florence. Check In could not have gone any easier. Really polite staff. We asked to upgrade our mobile home but there were none available until the end of the week. So we didn't bother. We drive to our home and noticed it was clean and well maintained. There were people gardening, cleaning all the time. Got to the mobile home and things were not ideal, utensils missing and a ladder to the bunk bed. We went to reception to ask about the missing things and the majority of what we needed was sent to us within an hour with huge apologies. It was an older mobile home but it was clean and ready for us to put our feet up. Having two bathrooms was really good with a family of 5. It was 37°C outside and the air conditioning worked well. We took a fan with us so it moved the air around a bit more. But we left it on during the day, with the interior doors open and the rooms were nice and cool. We used the restaurant, the service was really good and they were busy. It's a good idea to book. We had booked for 9pm and a couple were ahead of us in the queue when we arrived, they asked for a table and were told they'd have to wait 45 minutes. The food was tasty and fresh. Not overly expensive, considering some places nearby or other European cities. We used both pools, the kids one was a little cold but my boys (8, 13, 15) didn't care. Around the pool was clean and well maintained, there was enough shade if needed and a lovely olive grove section away from the pool for lots of shade. The pool bar was well equipped and the staff were friendly. The main pool was busy but people still had space to throw a ball or jump in. It's not there for doing lengths. The onsite shop was fine, it's not big, so we used it when we had to, otherwise there was a decent sized Coop not too far from the site (driving distance). The other bits were good, bike hire (although get there early), laundry services were great, the volleyball/football pitch needs updating but it was fine. The location is just outside the city. There was a bus to the centre from the campsite but we didn't use it. We drove and parked in underground parking in the city. All very easy. I had preconceptions about how it was going to be but I was really surprised with how good it was. And the staff were really polite and helpful. I would happily go back to visit it again.

Best experience. The room is good and clean, location is lovely but what makes this place the best is the service. Very good service by Tomaso and fresh breakfast. We will come back ! Need to come with a car as it's a bit far from public transports but worth it !

I regret to say that our recent stay at Camplus Guest Firenze in Florence was a complete disappointment, and I feel compelled to share our experience to warn others not to stay here. To start with the positives, the room size was adequate and the bed was comfortable. The modern decor was also appealing, and the cleaning standards were satisfactory. However, the negatives far outweighed any positives. Firstly, despite being upgraded, our room on the messanie 1A floor suffered from appalling noise pollution from the common area as there was no wall separating our room from the common area. As the building primarily caters to students, the noise levels were unacceptable, disrupting our sleep and causing discomfort throughout our stay. The students should feel free to make noise in their common area, I just don’t know our superior double room (we even bought an upgraded room) was placed there for paying hotel guests when this is clearly an issue. The most alarming issue was the shared balcony, which posed a serious security risk. On the second night, we were awakened by loud music and discovered a group of people smoking and partying directly outside our room on our own portion of the balcony. This invasion of privacy and lack of security left us feeling unsafe and vulnerable. Despite raising the issue, and the situation was not properly addressed and upon checkout the staff member tried to make it out that the group were on another area of the balcony, which I was upset about as I looked out the window and I saw with my own eyes the group directly outside our room on our balcony. They also asked why we didn’t tell them to go away ourselves but as not speaking good Italian at all, we felt unsafe approaching a group whose language we don’t speak. Furthermore, the breakfast experience was uncomfortable, as we felt out of place among the other students. Overall, our stay was marred by feelings of insecurity, discomfort, and sleep disturbance. Despite paying a significant amount for our stay, the service and amenities did not meet our expectations. Moreover, management's lack of response to our official complaint email is concerning. Despite offering a mere 50% discount on our next stay within the year, which we declined as we do not plan to return to Florence within that timeframe, they have refused to offer any compensation for our current stay. In conclusion, I strongly advise against staying at camplus guest firenze in Florence. Our experience was unacceptable, and the lack of proper response from management only adds to our disappointment. Please reconsider before booking your stay here.

Villa Castiglione is located on one of the hills surrounding Florence, it is a peaceful and quiet place surrounded by villas and vines. Converted monastery now features artistically decorated interiors. Rooms are just spacious enough for a lovely stay, with ensuite modern bathroom. It is as seen on photos, clean and the staff speak English - even though they appear a bit slow and bored, they were friendly and very helpful, as well as offering advice on travel. Parking is free on the premises but be prepared for narrow windy road to reach the place. Breakfast has enough variety, but don't expect healthy options, it is generally pastries, yoghurt, cereal and eggs. Great coffee, as this is Italy, of course. Dinner is officially served from 7.30 but nobody started serving until 8pm and the menu is rather limited, lacking simple options for tired travellers such as soup or salad - and it was expensive, considering value for money. All in all, this was a great find and we can recommend the Villa.

The reason why I’m voting 3 stars is because I wasn’t able to take a decent shower due to the water being blocked and it starting to overflow to the ground after 5/6 minutes. You guys need to call a plumber as everything in the toilet is blocked. I went to the spa which I was really looking forward to, to then go into a “hot tub” that was freezing cold! The salt room was ice cold inside and the steam room wasn’t even steaming. That was disappointing. I did tell the receptionist about it and he said he’d call someone to come tomorrow morning to fix it. Considering my experience in the spa was horrible the decent thing staff could have given to me as gratitude is a free session. But I didn’t get any of that. Overall decent not a bad location considering there’s buses near by that takes you straight to city centre however PLEASE can the MANAGER call a plumber and fix those blocked showers.

Thank you :) Our experience at the hotel was great. In many ways this hotel was ideal for us, it wasn't right in the city center where all the noise is, but it was close enough to it (about half an hour's walk to the train station with a suitcase and bags). The hotel staff was excellent, very kind and respectful with lots of good and efficient advice. The room was spacious enough and clean and we didn't lack anything. One weak point was for us and it was the bed which was a double bed but, it was connected by two mattresses, and an air conditioner that worked but made a lot of noise. In conclusion, if you don't mind walking to the city center (I strongly recommend everyone to walk and not use public transport, there is a lot to see on the way :) ) And you are looking for the hotel staff to be nice, polite, experienced, know the surroundings and know how to give you tips, this is the hotel check for you. We chose this ”hotel” as it was in the countryside just outside of Florence. A small reception but the reception staff spoke good English and was efficient. The room we were given opened into a small (childs) room first which was furnished with a small wrought iron bed with no windows. The main bedroom had a very small window which looked out onto the Tuscan countryside. The bed was old and lumpy and needs replacing. The bathroom also had no window and is old fashioned. The Wifi did not work (we connected in the reception but as soon as you got back to your room, it disconnected). Also the TV did not work. The lady at reception came to look at it for us but said the maintenance guy had gone home. We had dinner in the restaurant which was nice and very Tuscan. It is not part of the hotel and is run separately. The biggest problem for us was the noise. Whilst it is not the fault of the hotel if their guests are noisy, we had a family above us and we could hear every word, laughter, screams, TV, toilet flush, kids thumping and running etc. This also continued during the night at all hours. Breakfast was the highlight. It is served in a separate annex to the hotel across the road. The buffet (covid buffet) was served to us and consisted of hot and cold food, fruit, pastries, etc. Of course lots of Italian coffee. As we were there in November the pool was closed but we could imagine this an idyllic spot in the summer. Shame about the Wifi and TV.

A unique hotel to relax in Florence. The place is magical and the service is very attentive. It's a real Hotel without any superficiality. It is completely removed from the city but a shuttle takes you to the center of Florence in twenty minutes.
