Not only the location within a very filthy and abandoned area was shocking upon arriving; there were people sitting in front of the hotel and moving around the 'lobby' which defiantly belong to the 'project-complex' (HLM) and not to the hotel. The doors were widely open, but no hotel staff around. As indicated by a sign, guests have to use a very dirty and sticky (defiantly not hygiene and certainly not in-line with COVID-19 sanitary regulations) telephone to call a reservation agent. Unfortunately you only get to know, that there is no staff around until 16:00 hrs (official check-in time). Never the less, even the back-office was completely open and also on the reception desk registration cards with personal information were laying around - visible for everybody, with all personal information, one should keep at a discrete place to cope with official data protection policies. The furniture in the lobby was old and damaged. With all the garbage laying around, broken glass on the ground no staff on place but strange people hanging around and squatting in the lobby befitting from the vacantness this place is the most horrible 'hotel' I ever (almost) stayed. The driveway in front of the hotel was full of potholes and the signs at the entrance seemed like this place was abandoned a while ago and serves now as a retreat for homeless people. Don't get me wrong: if this is the intention to give shelter to homeless people, this is a nice gesture. Still you would need a bit of surveillance and should defiantly not sell rooms at this place to guests, which might have a certain need of security. I would defiantly not want my personal data, including credit card details laying around in a doss house / hostel for homeless people. There are other ways I help people in need! After I have called the group reservation to complain about the state I found the hotel / hostel, asking for a staff to speak with in person on spot, as I could not imagine, that this would be the standard DORMERO would strive for, I was told, that the hotel manager should be around and will be called to the lobby via the reservation agent I had on phone. Well, still after 15 Mins nobody showed up, so I had nothing else to do but leaving from this spooky and creepy place. How could someone leave such a place and run it down to such a bad state?! How could ever someone rate the location and state better than terrible?! Have a look at this place - you would not believe you are in Germany / Black Forrest / Freudenstadt but somewhere else, where nobody lives or took care for ages! I traveled the world and am not only staying at 5* Hotels; but the worst 1* Hotel is cleaner and safer as this place. I understand one might chose the location for the cheap construction site. But not hotel should place their name / brand proudly on that abandoned, filthy, down-and-out garbage dump! Luckily there are many family run places in the area, where I found an alternative quickly. Wir haben im Juni 2024 ein Wochenende in diesem Hotel, einem recht großen Gebäude mit einigen kostenlosen Parkplätzen direkt gegenüber vom Hotel, verbracht. Das Hotel liegt recht zentral, man ist zu Fuß in etwa 10 min am Marktplatz. Wenn man das Hotel betritt, kommt einem leider ein unschöner Geruch entgegen, der an einen Abfluss erinnert. Die Rezeption auf der linken Seite der Lobby ist nur von 7 bis 21 Uhr geöffnet, etwas seltsam bei einem Hotel dieser Kategorie. Wir hatten ein Superior Zimmer gebucht und bekamen Zimmer 322, ein Eckzimmer mit Balkon und zusätzlichem Fenster. Das Zimmer ist recht klein, es gibt keinen wirklichen Platz, um die oder den Koffer abzulegen. Es war für zwei Nächte allerdings ausreichend. Der Balkon, der mit zwei Stühlen, aber keinem Tisch ausgestattet ist, bietet einen herrlichen Ausblick. Das Badezimmer mit Dusche ist winzig. Die eine Duschtür fiel fast aus der Dusche heraus. Es gibt kaum Ablageflächen. Das Hotel bietet von Rituals Duschgel/Shampoo in der Dusche und am Waschbecken eine flüssige Seife. Außerdem standen dort zwei Mini-Flaschen mit Körperlotion, Conditioner wird leider nicht angeboten. Der Fitnessraum ist klein, hat aber ein paar gute Cardiogeräte, außerdem Matten, Hanteln und zum Glück auch Handtücher und Desinfektionsmöglichkeiten. Wasser wird keins angeboten. Das Frühstück wird im Hauptrestaurant im 1. Stock serviert. Als wir uns einen Tisch ausgesucht hatten, kam die Bedienung und wies uns darauf hin, dass sie normalen Kaffee in der Kanne bringen würden, man sich aber Kaffeespezialitäten selbst holen muss. Auch etwas schade für solch ein Hotel. Leider gab es hierfür nur einen Kaffeeautomaten. Das Frühstück an sich war okay, mehr aber auch nicht. Ich bin von anderen Best Western Hotels eine größere Auswahl gewöhnt. Wir haben nur zwei Mal gefrühstückt, an den beiden Tagen wurde jeweils das gleiche Essen serviert. An warmen Speisen gab es Speck, Nürnberger Würstchen, Rührei und gekochte Eier. Das war es dann schon. Keine Spiegeleier, kein Gemüse oder Champignons, keine Rösti oder andere vegetarische Dinge. An Rohkost gab es Tomaten, Gurken und Oliven. Hier hätte ich mir auch noch Paprika und Karotten gewünscht. Auch die Auswahl an Körnern und Joghurt fürs Müsli wäre erweiterungswürdig. Was es gar nicht gab, war Kuchen oder Lachs bzw. am Sonntag vielleicht sogar einen Sekt. Prinzipiell ist man aber satt geworden. Geärgert habe ich mich dann allerdings beim Auschecken. Ich hatte drei Best Western Gutscheinkarten, mit denen ich einen Teil der Rechnungssumme zahlen wollte. Die Dame an der Rezeption sagte mir, dass dieses Hotel die Karten nicht akzeptiert, ich aber zumindest mit Kreditkarte zahlen könnte, was für mich sowieso selbstverständlich ist. Ich hätte im Vorfeld nachfragen müssen, ob die Gutscheinkarten akzeptiert werden oder nicht. Aber im Ernst, wer tut denn so etwas, wenn er über die Best Western-Internetseite ein Best Western Hotel bucht? Ich fühlte mich insofern mehr als veräppelt. Alle
