An excellent visit to Ocean Bay! Very pleased and impressed by the staff, service and venue itself, as we have been on previous visits to the Cape Point region of Gambia. On arrival our taxi was met by well presented staff and our luggage was unloaded and taken into reception for us. Whilst completing the check-in procedure we were provided with fresh fruit drinks and cold face/hand towels to refresh us after the journey. The check-in procedure was quick and efficient and we were shown to our preferred/pre-booked suite within 5-10 mins with our luggage arriving a couple of minutes later. The accommodation (suite) was of a good African standard, very spacious, and was spotlessly clean with a completely refurbished bath & shower room. A couple of very small issues were dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible by the Guest Relations manger, Lobeh, Front Of Hotel Manager, Tamsir, and the room attendant Anna. As per other previous posts, the All-Inclusive package option has had an adverse effect on the daily ambience around the pool (excess drinks etc) and the ”Pontins 1980's” type entertainments, but there is always the excellent and well maintained beach as an option. The pool area itself is very clean, tidy and very well organised by the Pool Manager, Amadoo and his assistant Lamin, who cannot do enough to help users of the facilty. With lots of local cafes, restaurants and music venues within a 15 minute walk to Bakau, the Hotel is pefectly located for a great break without the chaos and seediness of the main tourist areas. The overall experience at Ocean Bay is great and we will be returning again next time we travel to this area of Africa.
