The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Love the high ceilings and large windows. Great temperature control in the room, comfortable bed and a nice assortment of coffee, tea and cocoa in the room. Service at the front desk was pleasant and efficient. We took advantage of the afternoon tour of the hotel and enjoyed learning about the incredible renovation project done to bring the building back from a period of major neglect. The stain glass ceiling and chandeliers are beautiful! We had drinks in the bar, dinner in the main dining area and breakfast the next morning in the cafe. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will plan to stay again when our travels take us through eastern Oregon.

We stayed in a 3rd floor parlor suite with a view of the Elkhorn Mountains. Very tastefully decorated and well maintained. The bed was amazingly comfortable. You can either use their valet parking service or get an on-street parking permit to self-park. We did not take advantage of the cafe or restaurant but they seemed to be very well patronized. Staff was courteous and helpful. Noon check-out was a bonus. Tremendously historic atmosphere and decor. Indeed, a step back in time. Overall, the place was lovely and we would not hesitate to return.

The hotel is in its fading glory. The rooms were remarkable in their size, however the furnishings and fixtures are in need of modernization considering the lodging cost per night. The night counter was a bit disorganized and unresponsive to requests. I personally sat in the lobby waiting for 30 minutes for a manager to show up to help me with minor issues with the room and parking. Unfortunately I was unable to resolve either satisfactorily. We ended up cutting our stay short

Prepare to be Transported to a Bygone Era of Luxury and Grace… We booked a night at The Geiser Grand as our last stop on a long road trip with our two dogs. We stayed at 6 properties that trip, and by far the most wonderful place was The Geiser Grand. Not only did they greet us with a warm welcome, but showed us 3 other rooms available for upgrade. We chose room 302 which was the grandest room of all. On top of it, it’s the one room in the hotel famed to be ******* by a beautiful woman in blue. The room was glorious, the dogs were very happy, the ceilings high, and at sunset the room was filled with such a beautiful golden light, I shall remember it all of my days… We had a lovely meal al fresco with the dogs, the food was excellent! The service was beyond top notch and the people who worked in the hotel were personable, stopped to talk and pet the dogs. Really lovely! There was a dog park on a river 2 blocks away. I soaked my tired road trip feet in the refreshing river and watched the sunlight dapple amidst the babbling brook. Baker City itself was a TOTAL surprise! Vibrant with great restaurants, permanent art installations & fun shopping! We didn’t want to leave, it was so engaging and there was so much more to see! I picked up a local hiking book in the gift shop (which has great items) and the historical walkabout map of Baker City! We will return very soon to The Geiser Grand and stay for much longer to soak in the local culture, outdoors, and the stained glass grandeur of The Geiser Grand. Highly recommend for couples, families, and of course doggie lovers!

I got one of the cheaper rooms, and it was still lovely and spacious. The complimentary hotel tour at 2:30 pm was a nice addition. Breakfast, though not included, was delicious. I got the Prime Rib Hash. Would recommend. They even had an electric kettle and a nice selection of teas in the room.

It had been a coupe of years since my wife and I had visited the Geiser Grand Hotel in Baker City. We had stopped visiting as frequently as the amenities and general quality of the rooms was slipping. The hotel was once an exciting place to visit for events like Main lobster dinners, pasta night or the Easter buffet dinner. Most of these event nights have paired down from the original luxury we encountered, if they exist at all. The reserved parking behind the hotel is gone in favor of valet parking or find it yourself street parking. The gym is now in a room in the basement. Probably the thing that has slipped the most is the food. At the end of May we stopped in to the Geiser Grand to try the Main lobster event one more time. The lobster was on the small side and lukewarm. The “all you care to eat” sides were a shockingly small salad, some mostly cooked green beans and a small amount of over cooked new potatoes. I would not say it was as good as a Red Lobster meal for a significantly higher price. The room was generally clean however, (not necessarily Geiser Grand’s fault) the street noise on a Friday night on the Main Street side of the hotel was incredibly loud and lasted until after two in the morning. I want more for this great historic hotel but I am not sure they can get there again.

Drove all the way from Seattle on our way to Scottsdale. Decided to stop for the night and will never be back nor will I recommend this hotel to anyone. Booked our reservation for no-charge with points through our credit card, and upon arrival they had the audacity to charge my husband $20 as an "extra person". I have never in all my years of business and leisure travel had someone charge me for my spouse as an "extra person?" If I had kids that needed cribs or roll-away beds I could totally understand. But last time I checked it is the industry standard that hotels are designed and priced to be double occupancy, especially since there were two queen beds in our room. I wonder if I checked in by myself and brought a friend back with me after dinner if they would have stopped me at the door and had them pay their way. Absolute sub-par customer service by the elderly woman who checked us in. We were too tired to deal with finding another hotel so we paid the $20 and called it a day. For a retail price of $266, you're better off finding an Airbnb or VrBO. (Based on all the 1 star reviews I'd say their standard of customer service is pretty bleak)

What a gorgeous hotel. We stayed in the Parlor Suite. The room was beautiful and the bed comfy. The hotel was VERY quiet and clean. We arrived early for a tour that was included with our reservation. The tour latest an hour and was interesting, the guide very knowledgeable. The employees that helped us were so very courteous, friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. We would highly recommend the Geiser Grand. It was a fun experience, and we would definitely stay again.

The Gold standard for historic hotels. Beautiful furnishings that preserve the historic period with modern amenities. The outstanding staff ensure that your experience is memorable. The dining room is elegant with wonderful cuisine, such as beef tenderloin with Dungeness crab. I highly recommend purchasing the plush bathrobe in the guest room.
