Next to the airport, not bad. I was driving on the highway and couldn't drive anymore, so I found a hotel to rest. It was Marriott style. There was dinner in the evening, which tasted good. It cost 45 dollars, but there was no kettle.

Convenient if you have a convention you are attending. Food on premises was excellent and staff extremely friendly. The reason for my 3 star rating is two fold. One, I was not able to get the convention rate despite attempting to book many times. Booked through my Bonvoy account figuring it wouldn’t be that much more. It turned out to be about $50 more per night. I planned on calling to see if I could get the lower rate but didn’t get around to it and figured I’d just pay it. Although I checked in online and indicated arrival time (after their checkin time), the checkin clerk wasn’t ready. The room I was given, a 2nd floor room, was the first room after elevators and ice machine. It was very noisy until later at night the 2 nights I was there. The worst of it was the window was filmed over completely as was likely facing a wall since on 2nd floor. I went down to reception desk to see about getting another room and line was so long of people waiting to check in, I left. Then 2 hours later I got a text that my room was ready. I don’t think they should even give this room out. Although room was well appointed without any sunshine coming in, it was quite dark and dreary. I paid more than others in our group and got a cave for a room. My fault for not pushing back. Make sure you get a room on higher floor!

Went here for an important event , couldn’t sleep there were people yelling down the hall you can hear the employees yelling back at them, no Insulation cold air coming in through the window, and the trail was loud, the curtains were dirty had hair on them, disappointed for paying high price for un happy stay.

A Fantastic Hotel in downtown Bakersfield and close to everything. Rooms are very well appointed and spotlessly clean! Service is outstanding in every way! From the Airport Transportation, Front Desk Staff, to Housekeeping the staff is very well trained and professional! When you call the front desk everyone answers with a pleasant, "Front Desk, this is XXXX, how may I help you!" A special shout out to Eleonor Gonzales who showed amazing Kindness, Care, Hospitality and Professionalism to my colleagues and I during our flight delay! I am a Bonvoy Member and stay at HUNDREDS of Marriott Affiliated Hotels every year. I was VERY impressed with the amazing Service, Care and Hospitality of the entire staff! THANK YOU for going the extra mile in caring for your Guests!

This is a gorgeous hotel. Very comfortable and extremely quiet. We came here for a conference. The hotel made it a delight. However, their food was not the best. Saturday night's steak was so tough I couldn't cut it with the knife they supplied which wasn't a steak knife. Two salads in the same day was a little much for my stomach to handle. Service was superb, but food not too good. Other than that I would stay here again and again. Staff is fantastic and extremely helpful and friendly. We ate at the bar for two lunches and it was really good. I loved the corn chowder! One more thing to add is that my reservation was cancelled without my knowledge (by *******) but was taken care of by the staff. (Problem resolved by ******* to my satisfaction.

Negative: [For a hotel review the most important thing on the list is the price and the bed. The price was a bit much but I read the reviews and it seemed reasonable for this place - wrong!! Take Uber or Lyft and go elsewhere (we traveled on Amtrak which is nearby)! The bed was the second worst I have had in 25 years. I ended up sleeping on the sofa and got about 3 hours sleep - very sad. There were several other negatives I won’t go into but if you go ahead and stay you'll discover those for yourself! This review is not exaggerated. Positive: it seemed clean. Room 304

The room was decent, and the concierge food was really good. The bathroom is just standard but the iron… Jeesh, they need to check those irons. It looked like someone set it to high then tried to iron thin, cheap polyester. It was badly crusted, so I went to work with wrinkled clothes. Parking is free, which is nice, but the EV chargers say “free”, but it’s actually a rather expensive 65c/KwH.

Coming back from Northern Ca and stayed here. Check in the rate was good for discount,. They do not have Breakfast only coffee shop, Now getting home check bank account and was charged $50.00 on the account call hotel and was told their was a charge until the room was inspected. Well if I had know this I said you could have checked out the room when I left, I also was told I could have paid cash Who carries cash. Next Needed to know how to get to the freeway No One at the Front Desk knew this. You work in a Hotel You Need to Know the freeways and routes this is part of your Job . I don't care if the guest has a GPS You still Need TO know. Never again It woill be the Holiday Inn Express best service and good breakfast.

With our hotel being a full service and having a restaurant our rates do not include breakfast. However there is breakfast rate packages available during booking online or with your reservation agent. The $50 incidental deposit hold is a standard hotel industry deposit. The amount varies from $30-$250 a night depending on the hotel, we do a $50 per night hold which we actually release up on check out. However the entire process from when we release to when your bank receives the release and processes takes anywhere from 3-5 business days. I do apologize this was not notified correctly when you called. I will make sure we address all the concerns as well as the staff not being able to provide directions to the freeway. When you are on a business travel, what would you like to have? Quite, efficient place that will provide you the recharge you need. This is a nice hotel in a very good shape. Large room, quite, clean. But morning breakfast… it is only served, no buffet and the team can’t handle the load. You needed to wait for 20 minutes to get your order. And if a mistake was done (and it was…) wait additional 20. Also the Starbucks in the morning, we had a line of 4 people and the barista lost control.
