I spent four nights at this hotel, in a very nice area of Rio. Great facilities: magnificent rooms (standard), excellent bed and linen, very nice swimming pool (heated) with gorgeous views, pleasant common area, etc. The management, however, is not so good. Nothing serious or terrible, but not what you would expect from a Hilton hotel. E.g.: I was supposed to receive a free big bottle of water in my room, as part of the arrangement for my group; I did not received it and I was told that I should pay for it if I wanted it; in addition, I was asked, when checking our, to pay for 2 bottles! (when I ordered just one). I complained and no charge was made finally but it gave me a poor impression about the level of care for the details one would expect in a hotel of this category. Moreover, in a place what you cannot drink water from the tap safely, the management should provide with courtesy drinking water for every guest, as is usual in most places. About the food: very good in the restaurant, reasonably priced (but obviously not cheap). However, the breakfast was disappointing: little variety and quality in the fruit (in a place such as Brazil!!!), slow service for the eggs or tapioca you ordered, and little variety of bread and pastry, as well as other deficiencies (quality of cheese, ham or salami, etc.). A special positive mention for the cleaning personnel: very efficient and nice, always respected the requests I made about timing. Bravo.

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for 10 days for our honeymoon after receiving a recommendation from a friend. When we first arrived we were disappointed because the room had not been cleaned adequately (dirty carpet, stains and dead bugs in the bathroom) and despite informing the hotel we were coming for our honeymoon we didn’t receive any special welcome, for example a note or message from the hotel or chocolate gift as we saw others receive on Instagram. We complained to the reception about the cleanliness and the next morning the room was cleaned to our expectations, we were happy with how the complaint was handled. The hotel room we were given was an ocean view on the 10th floor. The view was amazing and we loved falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean. However we feel that for the price and star rating of the hotel, the rooms need to be refurbished, the room feels dated and the bathroom finishings are not befitting of the hotel we expected from the pictures; messy paintwork and grouting, broken wooden furniture, poor quality shower and at one point there was no hot water so our first night was cold showers. We have stayed in lower and similarly priced and rated hotels and the quality of the room and bathrooms were better than this hotel. We used the tennis courts and gym during our stay which was a nice option. We both had the tropical Spa experience which was a wonderful and relaxing experience and the Spa staff were great. We chose the all inclusive option at the hotel and we were not disappointed with the selections available and the high quality of food on offer from the restaurants. The service from the staff at the restaurants was wonderful. The location of the hotel is excellent, after exploring the area we determined it has the best location of all the hotels in Ipanema / Leblon / Copacabana, because of the direct beach access to a “private” beach. Halfway through the stay we received a note in our room to say there was a problem with the pre payment and amount of consumption. We were very surprised because we had the all inclusive option and had not taken anything not included. We called the reception to inquire about the problem and the person was not able to explain what was the problem. (My wife is Brazilian so language was not the problem). We had to go down to the reception to speak with someone else, where we were told that the pre payment taken by the hotel was not enough to cover the cost of our stay (10 days) and so an additional payment was needed. The hotel knew we were staying for 10 days and should have known the total cost of our stay (excluding extras not included Ina lol inclusive), and taken the payment up front, rather than send us an ambiguously and informally written letter, halfway through the stay which the staff could not explain on the Phone. This was an annoying inconvenience and not a nice experience which the hotel could have very easily avoided. To be 5 stars and for us to consi

To start with the one obvious limit of the property, it is in Barra de Tijuca which is a modern, residential, somewhat ”American” part of Rio. Because of the location alone, I wouldn't have booked this hotel for the entirety of my stay, because in many ways, areas like Ipanema and Copacabana are a lot more interesting and buzzy. That said, this is really the only negative I would have about this hotel and for anyone who doesn't mind transportation, Uber is cheap and reliable in Rio, and it will cost about BRL 30-60 to get from the hotel to all the more ”iconic” parts of Rio depending on time (and therefore on traffic) and will take about 30 minutes off peak. The hotel itself is beautiful, almost resort like. It is fairly large, the building has a fairly strange shape with multiple wings, though this also seems to guarantee that all rooms will get a view of sorts (the hotel ideally overlooks the Ocean on one side and a beautiful and serene lagoon on the other side). Common parts include a nice and clean beach where the hotel offers loungers and umbrellas, a beautiful swimming pool with several areas (toilets and sunscreen provided), a spa, and several restaurants. I was staying in a Club ocean front room and it was great. The room decor is very nice, beautiful bathroom with separate bath and shower, very nice balcony with a coffee table and two chairs, nespresso coffee machine, bottled water, lovely local Granado toiletries. Rooms are quiet and bed comfortable. The lounge is very nice too with rooms to both sides, and services for breakfast and cocktail hour in the evening. I had breakfast in the main Tano restaurant which was excellent (multiple stations for omelette, tapioca, pancakes, green juice, etc plenty of fresh fruit, excellent pastries, etc), lunch at the Canto restaurant and by the pool (more limited version of the same menu) which was excellent. I also had dinner at Shiso, their Japanese restaurant and I'll admit that I was a little bit more disappointed there despite great review (food was ample but did not feel very authentic, was very salty, and the rice itself was not very good). Maybe I was there on an off day as reviews are, as I said, very positive in general. In addition to everything else, staff everywhere was excellent from managers pre-arrival to people I interacted with throughout the stay. All in all, in a sometimes hit and miss Rio hotel scene, and once one accepts the less traditional location, this is a really excellent hotel and one I'll return to with great pleasure. PS: very minor point: mini bar had no prices indicated and proved fairly expensive. Also note that there is a resort fee of BRL75/day which I did not think was very clear

The hotel is quite beautiful, which means I am quite satisfied with it. Especially when there are performances in the evening, it feels lively and has a vacation-like atmosphere. According to the standards of Golden Diamond, I think it is still a bit not good enough. For example, the breakfast restaurant is simple in decoration. The food is scattered and scattered, like a guest house

A small boutique hotel is okay. The hotel is newly renovated, and the bathroom is relatively bright. There is a window (limited to the seascape houses we ordered). The lighting design is not very good. There is no headlight on the top of the bed, so the room will not be too bright at night and not suitable for office. Breakfast is good. Friends from China remember not to eat only things on the table, but also fried eggs with the waiter. The biggest problem is that the elevator is too small. The elevator seems to be nominal that can only accommodate 5 people. In fact, the four people entering are a bit cramped. hotel. In addition, hotels in Brazil are generally not given pure water, and we do n’t have another Hilton we live in. Remember to go out to buy it for ourselves.

Positive Great Location, you are relatively close to everything in walking distance. There is a pharmacy next door, as well as a bakery that has outstanding quality. The rooms are clean and spacious. One of the big pros for me is that there are no carpets, which is a big plus. It avoids any unpleasant smells. Negative Unfortunately, there are a lot more negative comments rather than positive ones. My family and I usually stay at the Grand Hyatt, but due to Covid-19, the hotel was temporarily closed. We were left with no other option but to give this hotel a try. I want to emphasize that this hotel has the potential to be a 4 or 5-star hotel if adjustments are made. Nonetheless, this hotel should be a 3 star. On the first day of arrival, we had wifi. However, on the 2 day of our stay, we no longer had wifi. We contacted the reception desk, and the girls in counter said they were having issues with their wifi due to their guest capacity?!?!?!?!?!?! really? This is a hotel that shouldn't even be an issue. We are in 2020 in 2020 even McDonalds has a reliable WIFI however, Windsor Marapendi did not. After a few days the ”Partial Wifi” was back up, I mean partial because the wifi was only available in the lobby. Just writing this review baffles me with their lack of proper and basic preparation and administration. Wifi was not available during our entire 9-day stay. We stayed on the 13th floor, and again I repeat no wifi in the room. I had to go down to the lobby so I could log in to my laptop to work. How inconvenient and above all this, not one apology and acknowledgment of their lack of proper planning from the hotel, and they didn't even move a finger to make matters right with this nuisance. There was a lack of responsibility and care from the hotel. All they would say is that they are working on it. The hotel charges for the use of an adapter. It's 50 real. Although it's nothing if you convert it to USD, all hotels allow you to borrow an adapter if needed. Especially one that has no wifi. (forgive me, but I can't get over this wifi issue) Breakfast is free, which is a nice thing (especially for a hotel with no wifi), but it's mediocre, your best off going out for breakfast you will have a much better experience. Blowdryer is obsolete. Suppose you want to dry your hair, good luck. Bring your blowdryer. In my case, I had to go out and buy one during my stay. The Reception desk crew needs a complete revamp on professionalism and Customer Service. If you are trying to be a high-end hotel ( Which this hotel is not), Customer service is everything you guest needs to feel welcomed and feel like their needs is cared for regardless of how little or big their needs are. Windsor Marapendi, you have great potential if the criticism is taken and executed for them not to happen again in the future with other guests. You need major improvement. You should be rated as a 2 star if that. Holiday inn is a 5 star compared to

Hotel is very well located in front of the Atlatica avenue. the room itself is perfect. the bed is perfect and extremely confort. The crew are excellent, they really wants to serv you....i specially thank to Beatriz (attendent), Van Carlos (concierge) and super-sympatic Antonio at the front bar. The TV cable channels are very good. the crew speaks preaty well more than one language. What they could improve? 1 - the check-in process and queue speed. The wi-fi signal into the rooms. The window allows some external noise to come into the room and the breakfast itens variaty can be reviewed. I definetely recommend Othon palace hotel and I would consider it on my next Rio de janeiro visit for sure.

I arrived way too early for check in but reception was so welcoming, they offered me my welcome drink and accommodated my early check in request and got me a room a floor beneath the rooftop pool and bar! Which meant I was a flight of stairs away from the captivating views of Copacobana Beach and direct pool access. Made it up to my room right as the sun was peeking to rise and captured my first beautiful priceless moment in Rio de Janeiro! Everything about this hotel is premiere! The service is impeccable and any complaints or issues are dealt with right away. The concierge staff is always readily available for advise on things to do or places to eat depending on your tastes and acquiring bookings for activities for non Portuguese speakers like myself was effortless! Breakfasts are well attended to and their spread is admirably top notch! Rooftop bar staff are very efficient and courteous as well! Just top notch everything! This hotel is so worth the long review because of how everything is executed by them! They truly deserve their five star rating and there is no doubt in my mind that when I come back to Rio, I’ll definitely choose Miramar by Windsor Copacobana!

I have stayed at this property for 3 nights. I was meant to stay for 6 but I have decided to change plans. Overall I found my stay disappointing. Pre-arrival: good communication through WhatsApp and Booking.com On arrival: not a good experience - duplicate preauthorisation from my card for the 6 nights plus extra. The terminal did not produce a receipt and the receptionist insisted I have to put the card through again, although I have shown her an instant message received from the bank saying the transaction went through. At that point, I have been traveling for 18 hrs therefore I couldn’t spend more time arguing about it. I was reassured it was not a duplicate payment/preauthorisation and if any mistake, this will be sorted in the morning with “finance team”. Next day, I have tried to sort this with various reception staff to no avail. They simply denied there is an issue and refused to discuss the matter further. At one point, I was standing in front of the reception being ignored. I have contacted the bank in the UK and they sent me a confirmation that finally led them to cancel one of the duplicate payments. I have wasted an entire day of my holiday on this. Reception staff - with some exceptions- are very cold and distant, even arrogant. Very rare you see someone smile and make you feel welcome. No apology was offered to me for the mixup with the payment and the very unprofessional way this was dealt with. Staff enters the room way too much. Morning and evening service is expected, however “room service” knocked my door at 8-9pm every evening. If the door is not locked, they enter the room. I would advise to have the “do not disturb” sign on at all times, should you want some rest. Breakfast - not included. Even to use the coffee machine in the room, you have to pay for the capsules. It’s not about money, it just leaves a bad impression I think. The room - nice, good facilities, nice bed, shower and the beach view lovely from the large terrace. Panoramic view of Copacabana, as long as the room is on a higher floor. The pool/beach - haven’t used the pool but the beach is service is very good, friendly and helpful staff and comfortable sun beds. In conclusion, I won’t be returning. I have been to Rio many times and there are much better places to stay in various areas. Although Emiliano looks nice, they are a far cry from what I experienced in other hotels in terms of hospitality and adjusting to individual needs and expectations. I didn’t feel treated like a valued customer and I felt quite uncomfortable throughout my stay.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located at a very convenient location where you can walk to the beach by crossing the street and have variety of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself is very small, even the poor looked like it can only fit 5 people at the time and their gym is also very smaller than what you see on their website. I booked superior room with partial view, but this room was on the second floor and didn’t have any view at all. I would not recommend booking a partial view room because there is no view AT ALL but a big tree in front of your window. These rooms are just a little bigger than the standard room but you have no view. I upgraded my room to full view which was on the 8th floor and the only difference is the view but the room are the same size. I would recommend just booking a standard room if space is not an issue and save yourself some money. Even the room with the balcony is smaller because the balcony takes space from the room. The food in this hotel was amazing and room service was quick. Their hamburgers are 5 start burgers and everything on their menu was delicious. I would recommend the hotel but do not go with the advertisement online and just book a standard room

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very good location , 5 minutes walking and you are on the beach . It’s a very beautiful building and the room is clean, the service was very good, all the employees were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, with many options, including fruits and local things. We stayed during New Year’s Eve , and we choose a good place to escape from the crowd Copacabana, Praia do Recreio is more quiet and clean, there were some noises from fireworks but nothing comparing to Copacabana.

GGuest UserWe got an ocean view room with a hammock hanging by the big window to enjoy the beach view, watch the surfers and even the birds ….and many more. Compared to other hotels in the neighbourhood and in copacabana, Hotel Arpoador has real direct access to the beach (Ipanema)…just go through the restaurant and exit at the patio to the beach directly. All beaches in Brazil belongs to the public so in order to serve hotel guests better, this hotel has staff at the beach just outside their building, organising lounge chairs and sun umbrellas, only for hotel guests. First you go to the hotel reception to get towels and tickets for the lounge chairs etc. Once you show up on the beach with the tickets, the staff would quickly arrange everything for you. If you want to stay after their work hours (till 5pm), it is still ok, you just bring back the chairs and umbrellas to the patio. There’s always guard at the patio entrance. The breakfast included are wonderful (also have vegan options)….just wake up to the sound of the waves and enjoy your breakfast watching the morning mist among the mountains. If you do get up early, walk/run towards copacabana to watch the sunrise or do your morning yogas there (also a bunch of yoggies in the evening in the park area near the beach at the bottom of the fortress hill, around 6pm i think), or simply go up to the hotel roof top at 8:30am for free yoga classes. Free bike rental for two hours too. (Nice and easy bike lanes along the beaches) You can also go to the lagoon nearby, just go inland from the beach. Then enjoy a sip on the rooftop bar to watch the sunset. We had dinner also in the same restaurant (the only one) and it was ok (convenient on the first night after 5 hours drive from Paraty). Tried the other restaurants along the beach the next night (5 minutes walk, near Hotel Fasano), much nicer there. Staff are friendly and polite and answers a lot of our travel questions. We had a happy stay here.

GGnaustalgicTravelersWe stayed at the Windsor Martinique from Dec 23 (evening), 2020 to Jan 2 (evening) 2021. Our trip began at a separate hotel as a nightmare and became a dream when we checked in to the Windsor Martinique. We arrived in Rio and caught a cab to our hotel (NOT the Windsor Martinique) only to find that it had closed due to a Covid-19 outbreak. The hotel had booked us a room elsewhere and we were taken there. The new hotel was horrible. It was dirty, in an area of town we didn't want to be in, the bed folded like a taco when sat on, etc. We contacted our travel agent back home and she found the Windsor Martinique. We checked out of the new hotel and headed to the Windsor Martinique. We arrived and immediately felt at ease when we pulled up to a hotel with guards by the door, close to the beach, with a cozy looking clean lobby and smiling men at check-in. Wesley and Sergio were at the front desk. They had busboy, Celso take us to the room to see if it was adequate prior to accepting the room and checking-in. The room was beautiful. It was clean, had a working AC, comfortable bed, and was a corner room with view to the Copacabana beach. We immediately returned downstairs and checked-in. We enjoyed talking with Wesley. He spoke immaculate English and shared some of his previous work history aboard a cruise ship. He and Sergio put us at ease with their friendliness. We came downstairs and had a late dinner in the restaurant. Our server was Luis was wonderful. Our pizza's were delicious. The following morning we came downstairs for breakfast (it was included) and met Aylin and Claudio at the front desk. We also met a new busboy, Celestino. Again, we were immediately at ease. We went in to breakfast and seated ourselves. To protect guests, we pointed or said what we desired in the buffet and were served by the wait staff (they wore gloves). Our morning servers were Flavio and Rafael. The food was plentiful and delicious. We did a couple of tours which were offered by the hotel and enjoyed them immensely. They included an all-day tour of the city (including Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mtn., Selaron Stairs, etc). We also did a half-day tour in the Tijuca Forest. We also chose to eat dinner elsewhere one evening when I was craving Fettuccini Alfredo. Elaine at the front desk recommended a restaurant that she and her husband frequent. We loved it there. It is always a delight to enjoy places frequented by locals instead of just tourists. The alfredo was also super cheesy and divine. For New Years, much of Copacabana closed down and guests had to have proof they belonged there if they went out to enjoy festivities. The Window Martinique gave guests bracelets. We chose to stay in and watch the festivities unfold from our window. Our final day we checked out late as had red eye flight home. My husband had been searching for an old coin that is no longer used and Celestino brought two to the room for him. You should have

PPaolla ChristineWhenever I go to Rio I look for this hotel in the locality. I really like this region and it is always the value for money that this hotel brings. The staff is also very friendly and the food in the lobby makes it easier for those who don't want to go out and rest. Thank you again for your stay

GGuest UserWe were on family holidays, I reserved a four-bed room, with a couple bed and two single beds, which was perfectly suited to us. After a strong rain we returned from a restaurant, we went up to 11th floor and this was flooded! We managed to get to the room and in a short time the water also started to get in it! I called the reception, who knew the problem already, and they told me that I could change the room, we closed the bags and went to another floor. The lift had water, which scared my children. We were directed to a triple room, with a couple bed and a single, we sleeped the first night right there ... we tightened a little. On the other day, I called the hotel's reception, who told me to talk to the hotel's govern, who said the hotel was in works and they didn't expect that rain. I said that we wouldn't have to return to our four-room ... As I had already paid on the entrance, we decided to stay. I made some claims, only one was not answered. But we don't like the way we were answered, in general. Out of this episode: Check-in and check-out ok. WI-FI is not as fast as informed. Parking was not vacant, I had to pay out in another place. Cleaning ok. Breakfast recommended, free. I didn't use room service, but it has. Good location.

GGuest User800 reais uma diária achei que seria nível RISORT . Check in as 15:00 significa as 15:00 mesmo .

GGuest UserThis is a very nice location in a very safe part of Rio. We have only been to this area for the Rock in Rio Festivals. It’s not the best situated for the tourist attractions of Rio but it is far safer than closer in to the city. Walking around the beach at night and visiting restaurants and bars is perfectly fine. The staff here are friendly and it is a clean and tidy hotel. The only bad point is the very slow checking in and out process at the front desk. The beach bar directly in front of the hotel is very nice and worth a visit. There are a lot of facilities around the hotel itself including shops, cafes, restaurants and a hair dresser. The whole setting is much nicer than the areas of Copacabana as there are a lot less gym boys and people with Botox bodies although there are still some. The beach is busy during the day but is nearly empty come sunset. Getting a taxi outside is very easy and all are the official yellow ones.

GGuest UserThe main attraction of the hotel is its excellent location and first-class service, but it leaves regrets when it comes to the structure, because it is an old and poorly designed property, the shower area (bathroom) is very tight and small The coffee shop space, especially considering the number of guests. However, the location plus the preferential price make up for these ”deficiencies”, next to the Copacabana Palace, bars, restaurants, pharmacies, and the best, facing the sea. I recommend it to everyone.
