7 & of us stayed 2 nights on a golfing break. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The food, especially the freshly cooked breakfast , was superb with a special mention for the large , juicy cap mushrooms. If golfing anywhere near again we will be back

Very poor service and appalling attitude from the manager. Unfortunately ruined my daughters birthday meal. Took an hour for starters and kids meals to come out despite there only being a couple of other tables in, then one of the kids meals was burnt so needed to be replaced, my mum and sister’s pasta starter was greasy and undercooked raw pasta that resulted in my mother vomiting in the toilets then we continued to wait for another 30 minutes and still no main courses to which my father enquired about to be rudely argued with by the manager who claimed it takes an hour to cook chicken!! The manager continued to argue with both my father and my sister about the food quality and service and resulted in us paying for the starters, kids meals and drinks and then us leaving the premises to find an alternative meal solution. Appalling behaviour and we will NOT be returning.

My wife and I stayed 1 night en route from a Lake District holiday to Manchester Airport, where we had a late morning flight the next day. All aspects - the very friendly welcoming communication, the service, the food quality, the room - were absolutely top-class. Very handily placed close to the M6 and M61. Highly recommended!
