My husband and I had a fantastic three-night stay in a garden view suite at this gorgeous resort. The resort is set on a clifftop, with stunning ocean views; the grounds are lush and serene, and are beautifully maintained. We enjoyed the clay tennis court, which was surrounded by palm trees, in the mornings. The breakfast, which was included in our stay, was actually one of the highlights of our trip (even more so than the breakfast at the Four Seasons Sayan, where we stayed later on). The muesli was light, creative and very flavorful, with a really unique whipped coconut topping, and the pastries, cappuccinos, fresh exotic fruit bowls, and refreshing juices made for a wonderful way to start out each day. We rarely had room to order a main course (which was also included). As guests of the resort, we had priority access to Sundays Beach Club, and we went every day. The beach was really beautiful, with soft sand, large waves in the morning and calmer waters for snorkeling and kayaking in the afternoon. The beach club, like the resort, had terrific food (the beef rendang bao with crispy rice was a favorite). We really liked the vibe of both the resort and the beach club, which was fun, relaxed, and unpretentious; we enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the fire and the live music in the evenings. The service was terrific – Desri was a standout, and we found all of the staff to be warm, friendly, and helpful. The resort arranged a surf lesson at Balangan Beach and this was one of the highlights of our trip as well – it was one of the best beaches my husband has ever surfed, and was full of friendly surfers and great waves. The resort's coordination was seamless. We were sad to leave and kept comparing every subsequent resort we stayed at in Bali to The Ungasan. The general manager personally came to wish us goodbye, and as we told her, on a scale of 1 to 10, this experience was a 12! Highly recommend.
