Beautiful rooms, delicious food.. breakfast and dinner in Conall Cearnach and Summit bar in golf club. Friendly staff.. wonderful Christmas break.

The deal included a Deluxe Twin Room Bottle of Proscecco on arrival, dinner (2courses), 9 hole Golf and hydrotherapy suite and breakfast the following morning. Sat in reception awaiting our room to be ready the windows were dirty inside and out thick cobwebs outside obviously there for months. The room was adequate a good size however there was dust and cobwebs on either end of the curtains. Room was way too hot but reception did supply a fan which was great. The Proscecco was on the table not chilled no glasses provided. Got to the restaurant for dinner, the restaurant receptionist asked for our room number then announced quite loudly ‘oh you have the two course deal’ we were brought to our table and again it was announced by the waitress that we were on a two course menu deal. And if we wanted another course we’d be charged accordingly which we were aware of anyway. I felt this was unprofessional service other than that the service was good. The food was average and the portions were very small. Breakfast was good with a huge variety of foods available and the service was good. I did online check in and out and got an email at 08.40am asking did I want to check out ‘now’ check out wasn’t until 11.30am. This was inappropriate. The nine hole Golf was good and the course was beautiful. My husband enjoyed the hydrotherapy suite. We had lunch in the summit restaurant when we arrived and it was also just average. Overall the experience was just ‘ok’ for a four star hotel.

Great value in a comfortable hotel . We stayed overnight on a Sunday - dinner bed and breakfast deal . The room was spacious and comfortable . The grounds are so well kept and there are lovely walks around it . Beautiful gardens and a little fairy trail for children . Both the food at dinner and breakfast were excellent . Lovely staff and both checkin and check out were very fast and efficient.

Brilliant stay on Sunday night , meal was excellent, room and bathroom were very big . Bar is comfortable and the band were excellent, especially the Rod Stewart covers 😁. Cocktails were really well made , the mixologist was extremely busy at one stage. Checkin and Checkout was online so no waiting, will return

All was very good but no proper shampoo and conditioner in the rooms. I requested a rope for going to the spa but didn’t arrive on time. Should have been in the room. Tradesmen not tidying up after themselves found a screw on the carpet which cleaners should have been around after they were finished. Found a broken glass under a radiator in the club house. Cleaners need to be advised to look everywhere when cleaning. No bananas on display at breakfast. Everything else was Excellent. Loved the food in the evenings and bar. Setanta was closed on our visit. Staff were great and building looked great. Look the new look of the interior.

Excellent room, fluffy pillows and duvet. Room and bathroom was spotless. Reception staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were A1 and restaurant staff were excellent. We had dinner in Summit. Food was great and likewise staff. No complaints! We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks a mil Marie and Rosie. Ann & Frank

The Slieve Russell is a terrific hotel whose staff make a big effort to make you feel welcome. The food is really good - and so is the beer! We spent a Sunday and Monday night there on their Sun-Thur special that includes a four-course dinner each evening, with a hearty breakfast each day. Theground-floor room (no. 646) was quiet and clean but not spotlessly so, as my female partner observed: a run aroud with a brush would have lifted a lot of dust from window ledges, etc. The only negative was that we were near melted with the heat during the night, even though the windows were opened as far as possible and it was cool outside. Had we slept better, in our large, comfortable bed, the review would have been five stars. All in all, though, this hotel is highly recommended.

Hotel was fine with good food. Bar music very loud. Bad time with EV car chargers. The two EV spaces were occupied by same 2 cars from Sun afternoon to Mon mid-morning. One was a diesel car not connected to the charger. Hotel advised of situation. 800 car spaces approx and only 2 chargers. Not an adequate provision. Chargers not actively managed by hotel to prevent experience we had. Plan on using other charger in town as we had to do. Nice town walk while you wait for car to charge.
