For the price, this place is fine. I will say that it presents slightly different in the photos online than in person but thereβs nothing that wrong with the rooms. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are warm in very cold conditions, we felt very safe and the staff are very quick to attend to your needs. A renovation especially in the hallways would be a big improvement, and the shower doesnβt get hot hot - just warm. Overall a decent stay.

An amazing hotel. Fairmont gold dining room / lounge is impressive. Great 33m indoor pool and fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and Bow river. from the hotel. This is a beautiful, classically styled, expensive and impressive resort. Self Parking is a 3 min walk to the hotel. Take a 10 min bus ride into Banff Ave. Bus tickets for guests are complimentary. 1. Location, at the end of Banff Street, parking is very convenient, but if you want to go to the pedestrian street, it takes 20 minutes to walk there. You need to pay for parking before 8 pm (it seems okay if you don't get caught)
2. Environment, clean and sanitary, the cleaning products are very good! There is a kettle and a coffee machine, don't expect too much, the more beautiful attractions are in Banff
3. I still think it is more convenient to live in Banff, overall recommended. I won't comment without experiencing other swimming pools.

The location is good, next to the famous Canadian steakhouse The Keg. The service is also very warm, there are hot springs in the winter to soak, you can see the snow-capped mountains. We returned last week from a 6 night stay at this hotel. We requested a large room with balcony and easy access to parking, since we are in our 80s. We also requested air conditioning, which not all of their rooms have. Kudos to Lily for helping us choose the perfect room for us. Our room was modern and spatious, with a kitchenette with microwave, stovetop, coffeemaker, and refrigerator. The large bathroom had loads of counter space and an extra large stall shower. There was a small table with two chairs for enjoying breakfasts in our room. Location of the hotel was also ideal for us. We were surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery - away from the noise and traffic in the heart of the city, although only a few minutes away from the fantastic restaurants in Banff. As others have mentioned, this hotel provides bus passes for travel to the downtown area, with bus stops virtually at the hotel doorstep, which we used daily. It only took a few minutes on the bus to get into the heart of the city, which is so much easier than driving through Banff and trying to find convenient parking. Highly recommended!!

We were a little worried about staying at Hidden Ridge because of some of the negative reviews but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Four of us (two couples) stayed for 5 nights in a Premier 2 Bedroom Loft Condo (with 4 Queens). The condo was spacious for 4 adults, clean, bright and airy, and very comfortable. The two bedrooms on the lower level were on the small side but had comfortable beds (Queen bed in each). There is also a loft above the main level with two Queen beds that overlooks the living area and kitchen on the main level. There were two good sized bathrooms, one on the lower level between the bedrooms and the other one upstairs on the main level (the upstairs bathroom even included a washer/dryer which was very convenient!). The kitchen was well-stocked and Wi fi worked great. Our condo included a wood-burning fireplace in the living area. One of the highlights of Hidden Ridge is the outdoor hot tub and heated pool that has gorgeous views of the Rocky Mountains! There is comfortable outdoor seating and firepits. We enjoyed the hot tub/pool on several evenings during our stay and, IMO, is a must visit. There are fresh towels available near the hot tub/pool. There is also a sauna right next to the hot tub/pool area. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us free bus passes when we arrived. Hidden Ridge is located about a mile from Banff village in a quiet, secluded wooded area. You will need to drive, walk or take the bus into Banff village for restaurants, markets, etc. since there is not much near Hidden Ridge. Be aware that if you drive your car into Banff village, you will need to pay for parking (about $3/hour) since there is no free parking that we could find. We would definitely return to Hidden Ridge Resort!

Stay at Rimrock Resort was wonderful right from checkin to checkout. The ladies at checkin were very friendly and professional. They provided us with a free upgrade to the mountain view room on 9th floor. The room had wonderful views and made our stay memorable. We tried buffet breakfast as Primrose and really loved their smoothies. Service was great too. Unfortunately couldn't use pool and hot tub since they were closed on the day of our stay . I wish we could have stayed few more days at Rimrock

Great renovation interior compared to the old building outlook and comfortable beddings.

SShari_1The Dorothy is located at the end of Banff Avenue with the best wood area just next to the building. It is very quiet in the morning and evening. Birds is chirping and lots of wild life's live in the woods. we saw deer and wolf (or coyote) in the woods.
the room is clean with mini frigerate, microwave, coffee maker and kettle for hot water. The bed is comfortable. we love this place and will come back next time.
side comment, it is a bit further from the city center area. We love the quietness though.
SsoramameIt's a little far from downtown, but it's within walking distance so it's not a problem. There was a group of students staying there so it was a little noisy, but the room was clean and comfortable. I was able to leave my luggage there before check-in, so it was easy to go out.
GGuest UserMy husband and I stayed at this hotel in October 2022. We found the front office staff very friendly and able to answer all our questions. It was nice having coffee, tea, and infused water available in the front lobby at all times. The rooms were well decorated and clean. Our room had a microwave, mini fridge and a Keurig with pods and cups. Very convenient. We also had a great view of the mountains from our room on the third floor...with a balcony, two seats and a table that we used often. The odd number rooms are located in the front of the hotel with a view of the mountains. Rooms with even numbers are in the back and overlook a courtyard and other buildings. Parking was convenient and easy to access. The only drawback was the breakfast included with our stay. We ate in the breakfast area 5 times and every time we ate we ended up with syrup on our arms or clothes from the previous diner. We never saw the tables being wiped down at all. The food was okay. Basically the same thing every day. This hotel is within walking distance of a grocery store and all the shops and restaurants down the main street (Banff Avenue) and the side streets I would have rated this a hotel 4.5 if I had the option. I would stay there again and would definitely recommend it.
GGuest UserThis review is long overdue and refers to stays in March 2016 & March 2017. For 3-night stays it suited us perfectly. If the hotel advertised itself as a ski lodge with old world charm and great staff β like, really great staff, weβd give it 5/5 because thatβs exactly what it is and sets the expectations appropriately. However, weβre reviewing this hotel based on the way it is advertised: as a βluxury lodgeβ with βelegant roomsβ for a βromantic escapeβ and as a 4-star βboutique hotelβ. Each one of these words translates to something itβs just not quite. Given the descriptors (and the cost - at about $215 per night for a king bed) we expect a little more as far as rooms go. In reality the rooms were somewhat dated, but clean and served the purpose. The ventilation (heater) was noisy and the in room safe did not work properly. Hotelβs best offerings: 1. Staff (they were great β friendly and helpful); 2. Location & the shuttle pick up to Lake Louise and Sunshine (paid for as part of a ski package through the hotel and in addition to the room cost - was super convenient as it is right outside the front door); and 3. Breakfast (it was fantastic, though pricey). Tip regarding the shuttle: itβs about 20-30 minutes to Sunshine and about 45-60 minutes to Lake Louise. Itβs one of the first few pick-ups, so not an issue getting a seat in the morning. But β¦ when leaving the ski resorts and returning to the hotel, line up early as they can be crowded and might not be able to accommodate everyone, which means a long wait for the next bus. Overnight storage of skis is in the basement and works well. Equipment was not permitted in the rooms. Underground valet parking was nice. Hot tub is just ok (itβs in a basement and quite dark; alcohol is prohibited - though we managed to have a beverage or two). When we were there both the lounge and the dining room were pretty low-key (empty), so we went down the street for something a little more lively. Itβs only a 15 minute walk to the main strip in Banff. Relatively short, but feels like a long walk if you hit a cold snap like we did. Bring a toque! Highly recommend The Block Kitchen and Bar for dinner (small sharing plates) and Tooloulous for breakfast. Arrive early or expect to wait in line at both. Overall a great time was had and we would consider it again if we return to Banff.
DDONGThe stay was too comfortable, one more night, the stay was very quiet, the environment was good, the snowy mountains and the forest could be seen outside the window, the room had a coffee machine, a microwave oven, and toiletries were of good quality, the room was hygienic, and the important thing was that we had pajamas after we left And the cashmere scarf fell, and the hotel helped us send it home in four days. I am very grateful!
GGuest UserReasonable stay, a little far out from Banff but good public transport close by. Free parking at the rear of the property, a big bonus but parking is available in the underground carpark.
Expensive for what was provided.
Apartment well fitted out and everything required for the stay is provided, but the most critical item, the safe, was not working, meaning that we had to take passports, cards and cash with us throughout our stay in Banff.
Regretfully disappointed with poor sleep throughout the stay, the sound proofing is exceptionally poor, especially from overhead apartments, with wooden floors creaking badly and every footstep clearly heard. Interconnecting doors had poor soundproofing, every sound and talking were clearly heard. Apprciate that the building is timber, but there are numerous ways to improve the soundproofing, but at a commercial cost.
Bring a good set of ear plugs, they are essential for sleep.
Train leaves the station or passes through Banff at 5.40 every morning, and the driver loves to use his horn on every occasion, no need for an alarm clock!!
Nnia22753It has the atmosphere of an old furnished mountain region apartment but the cleaning services is rough. I found two and more but shells and bugs body on the rug after I checked in. The location isnβt too far from downtown Banff however under the coldness it would be rough walking to town. Parking is extra (14.99cad not fee as the page stated on trip.com) phone to ask the details before booking this placeβ¦ itβs an ok place to stay just not great for family vocation.
JjenchannnI stayed at the HI Banff for just 2 nights, and got to experience 2 different βtypesβ of private rooms. I had initially booked online for a 4-6 female dorm (there werenβt any private rooms left on the third agent site when I had placed my booking), but when I asked to be switched to private upon arrival, I was fortunately offered the option to stay at a 6-person dorm - all by myself - for the first night, and then move over to a private log cabin for the second. Both were interesting experiences, and the room decor (especially with the electronic hearth in the log cabin) definitely made you feel like you were staying at a quasi-wilderness hostel. It was fun on the whole, despite the slight inconvenience of having to move between the two nights. Both the shared shower room and the private en suite shower/bathroom were clean and well-maintained, with decent water pressure and hot water supply, which are extremely important things to have when youβre visiting Banff in its subarctic state...! I didnβt use the kitchen or patron the hostelβs restaurant (called Cougar Peteβs), so unfortunately canβt comment on those aspects. I will say, however, that the only downside of this hostel would be its relative distance from downtown Banff (i.e. the centre of Banff Avenue where all the shops and restaurants are located) - it takes a good 20-min uphill walk from Banff Avenue up to Tunnel Mountain Rd where the hostel is located, and for any season that isnβt late spring, summer or early fall (okay, so winter is the biggest issue I guess), I donβt think youβd find walking for 20 plus minutes out in -10 degree Celsius conditions quite the idea of a pleasant stroll, especially after dinner when itβs dark and bitterly cold, lol. Thereβs of course the option to take public transport (the Roam transit bus), with Bus No. 2 stopping at Douglas Fir station (the hotel right next to HI Banff), but bear in mind this is a bus that comes at 25-minute intervals. So, not the most convenient arrangement, and something to be aware of when planning your itinerary. Overall though, I really enjoyed staying at the HI Banff, and found it a rather lovely experience as a first-time visitor to Banff. On a side but related note, Iβve rarely been let down by the HI chain, and Iβve stayed at more than 7 HI hostels by now...
GGuest UserFILTHY. Filthy, Filthy, Filthy. Rented a three bedroom chalet for our family of four with two toddlers. There was great appeal in the jungle gym and the waterslides, and separate bedrooms for all. This place is a dive. They have done zero routine maintenance in years and it shows. We have blankets on the couch it is so stained. I spent an hour washing down the kitchen, bathtub, bathroom, etc. While wiping the sink countertop under the mirror the white towel came back filthy. There were crumbs on the counters and dirt on the floor. I called the front desk three separate times within our first hour there. No coffee. No lightbulb in the bedroom. Not even burnt out, missing. A gift bag and piece of a retainer found on the far side of the downstairs bedroom. Burnt out lights in kitchen, bathroom, stairway. No stairway railing, treacherous for young children. Deck not shovelled off so no way to enjoy it. Front door doesn't seal. Bathtub plug won't hold water. One coat hanger for a chalet that sleeps six. Assigned parking space not fully shovelled, post-holing getting kids out of car seats. It's so disappointing to pay $600 for two nights and feeling so dirty you don't want to touch anything. So please take this review as written by someone who doesn't care about fancy, rather someone who cares about cleanliness and comfort. We will never be returning here. ***UPDATE: After our first night stay I pulled back the blankets in my toddlers room and there were MENS SOCKS made up in the end of the bed. We aren't staying the second night. The SHEETS were clearly NOT even CHANGED, they were REMADE from the previous guests. My skin is crawling. As requested, our stay is being refunded in full.
GGENOld hotel, the entire Banff hotel has years, and summer is very cold, which is equivalent to the feeling of Beijing in late autumn. The town is very small, just one street, there is a supermarket in the middle of the street, and there are gas stations at the head and tail. You can directly go to the Canadian tanker Swap domestic credit cards, the United States cannot. Walk about 40 minutes from beginning to end. There is no extra bed in the room, there is a small balcony, enough to put a chair, there is a small swimming pool, hotel guests free parking, Banff from Vancouver to play, the reasonable route is, Vancouver-Lake Louise (Lake Lake Side Hotel) --JASPE (If you want to see a bear on the road, you must go on the road before 6 o'clock, the glass road is not interesting, you can take a look at the glacier. It is best to live in Jasper for two or three days, you can see the aurora with good luck. The beach on the road is actually by the lake.
