Baiyoke Sky Hotel Bangkok

One of Bangkok's iconic landmarks, a must-visit for every traveler. The hotel isn't new, but the staff works hard to maintain it in excellent condition. The room was clean, with fresh linens, bathrobes, and toiletries. Guests have unlimited access to the observation decks on the 83rd and 84th floors. One of them rotates, offering stunning panoramic views of the magnificent metropolis. The hotel is located right in the city center. It's very convenient to get to Suvarnabhumi Airport, and the metro is just 150 meters away. From lunchtime until late at night, a bustling impromptu market sets up right outside the hotel entrance. There's a 7/11 nearby, and Bangkok's largest shopping malls are within walking distance.

This was my second stay here, this time on the 45th floor. The room was still good, but my previous stay was in a higher-tier room with a floor-to-ceiling window and a higher floor, which was naturally more comfortable. I'd recommend booking as early as possible to get a better room type for roughly the same price. The air conditioning temperature couldn't be adjusted, and it was a bit too cold at night, so if you're sensitive to cold, bring extra long-sleeved clothing. The great thing about staying here is the opportunity to enjoy the changing light throughout the day and night, and to go up to the free 360-degree rotating observation deck to overlook the entire Bangkok – it's fantastic for photos. However, if you want to take pictures with people in them, using the restaurant's balcony during breakfast (which is paid) provides better photo opportunities. You can also move between different balconies to get a 360-degree view of Bangkok. While the breakfast itself is just average, the unparalleled view is, in my opinion, well worth it! I usually arrange this as my last hotel stop before returning home because the Pratunam area is convenient for buying souvenirs, and I feel secure leaving my luggage here. Taking the A3 bus to Don Mueang Airport is also convenient and quick. However, be aware that this time when I waited for the A3 at the bus stop at the alley entrance, I was misled by the "A3, No Service" message on the bus stop sign, thinking it meant the service was suspended. In fact, it runs approximately once an hour, so it likely meant the electronic display couldn't read the schedule information. Checking bus times on Google Maps is more reliable. If you're going to Suvarnabhumi Airport, the Airport Rail Link City Line is equally convenient. Regarding souvenirs or personal items, if you need pain relief cream, I found that 'Tai Ru Yi' inside The Market Bangkok was much cheaper than Big C next door (Counterpain Hot 120g, 135 baht; Cool 120g, 144 baht). Bio Treatment hair mask sachets were 8 baht, and the red label 3-in-1 milk tea packs were 45 baht for 100g (180 baht for 500g, but this 500g pack wasn't the cheapest – I saw the cheapest at the red label milk tea branch in the basement of Robinson Department Store near BTS S6 station, 165 baht for 500g (50 baht for 100g)).

Overall, we really liked this hotel. We booked for two nights. Let me start by saying we booked a room in the space zone and were assigned to the 70th floor. The view of Bangkok from the room is impressive, especially in the evening after dark. The room itself is quite spacious. Yes, the rooms and furniture are old, very old actually. But the room is cleaned very well. It's very clean, with white bedding. For two people, there were six bottles of water, and tea and coffee making facilities. There's a kettle. There are also bathrobes and slippers, which are very comfortable with soft soles, by the way. A nice bonus is the pretty good toiletries in the bathroom. And another pleasant surprise was a small fruit plate upon check-in. I should mention that my husband and I accidentally went up to the 60th floor, got out of the elevator, and it smelled terribly of cigarettes, as if someone had been smoking right by the elevator. There were no such smells on the 70th floor. The rotating open observation deck is a delight in itself, and it's beautiful to watch Bangkok by night. In general, the presence of observation decks and photo zones is a big plus for the hotel. For that alone, you can overlook the shortcomings of the old rooms. I also want to highlight the hotel's location. It's very convenient for getting to/from the airport. There's a direct metro line. It's about a 10-minute walk to the hotel. Right next to the hotel is, of course, the Indian quarter. If you like Indian cuisine, it will be very convenient. But there are other cafes too. There's a large shopping mall just a 20-minute walk away. It's about a 30-minute taxi ride to the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (but that's with traffic). Check-out from the hotel is by 11:00 AM, which is a bit early compared to other hotels. Keep that in mind. But there's a late check-out service for 200 baht for each additional hour. So overall, I can recommend this hotel if you're prepared to accept the nuances mentioned above.

Great views, definitely not disappointed! A wide variety of food to choose from. The staff were very helpful. The room was exactly as pictured and booked. The amazing view was the highlight!

The accommodation is excellent, the room view is amazing, they brought us fruits and were very attentive to us ☺️ We will definitely come back again!

Excellent area, I recommend booking the Space Zone. It includes free access to the observation deck, as well as lounge access on the 69th floor. They also gave us a flyer for two free cocktails (no choice though, just some juice with ice 😅).

This isn't our first stay here. The location is super convenient, the service is great, and it's close to the metro.

I stayed one night on the ladies' floor without meals. The room was spacious and the bathtub was comfortable, but after I fell asleep in the middle of the night, there was a thumping sound coming from the corner of the ceiling about every two minutes, which kept me from sleeping. In the morning, I asked a cleaning staff member what the sound was, and they said it might be due to rainwater accumulated from the recent major flood. The staff were all very polite and the location was good, but it was a shame that this noise alone disturbed my sleep. I suppose it can't be helped because of the flood... (Perhaps there's usually no sound.)
