Good location, near Samyan mrt station, nice hotel with nice interior and friendly staffs, like the breakfast restaurant ambience relax and cozy, and with good variety of food choices, gym is well equipped

My hotel of choice when traveling, as it’s promixty to MRT is good, plus near to temple Wat Hua Lumphong. However the requested room with 1 king size bed (booked as such) was substituted with a room with 2 twin beds; and this was not informed when checking in.

The hotel very nice, clean, the staff very friendly and provide very good service.

Great boutique hotel with excellent service

Location of this hotel is perfect in the Silom area, across the road from the night market. Staff are friendly and even alerted me at checkout that I had left my necklace behind in the room which they brought down. The hotel is very clean throughout.

Although having a refurbishment on the entire facilities in a few years back but the low ceiling, 1970s' specification could not be changed. Also, patches of mold were found in the shower area of Room 1505 and the towels were tired and dirty especially for the bathmat. Also, I do not prefer staying in a hotel which is taking tour groups as they jam the breakfast venue and tend to create a lot of noise.

Great stay. The breakfast was fantastic would recommend. The doorman was the best! He helped us book a taxi to the airport and was an delight to talk to every morning while waiting for a ride. The front desk staffs were helpful as well.

The first day, we checked in - the bedsheets had stains on them. Also as we need to shave, I requested for shaving kits and we have to constantly remind them to give us shaving kits on a daily basis. The room on some days was not clean, so we took the towels to clean the place, upon checked out, I was asked to pay for the stained towels - 150 bahts. I felt a bit shocked as I merely use the small towels to clean the dirty areas in the room, which they failed to do. I am feel that although the hotel is now 5-star, it has lots of room for improvement in their cleanliness, customer-service and attention to details. Regards, Alex Ng

Check-in process: Check-in was smooth. The staff were friendly. Room Quality: The room from the first glance looked good. Good size – ample space for moving around with comfort. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the room was cause for concern. Upon check-in we noticed the shower had long, black hair on the floor. Over the course of our 5-day stay, we noted there was long black hair on the floor after housekeeping had cleaned the room. During the stay, the shower was not cleaned. For example, there was water stains on the shower glass and the Charcoalogy soap on the ledge was never cleaned during our stay. In addition, the room flooring was dirty and needed a thorough cleaning, especially the edges and corners. That said, the bed was comfortable with one large pillow, and one small. The TV was large and modern. The gym was small but good. The swimming pool though was extraordinarily small (same size as a swimming pool at home) considering the Hotel has hundreds of rooms. Also, our key cards to access the lifts and room often malfunctioned, which required us to contact reception to reactivate them. We heard from other guests this also happened to them. Staff and Service: During our trip, we were mostly happy with the service and Thai friendliness projected by staff. Food and Dining: The hotel restaurant and bar were exceptional. We really loved the food, although the breakfast spread was the same every day. We thought the hotel might have provided a special menu for Christmas breakfast, but they didn’t. Facilities: The swimming pool gets great sunlight but is too small. If you’re booking a hotel for quality access to a swimming pool, this might not be the hotel for you. Overall Atmosphere: The hotel has great ambiance. Value for Money: We thought the hotel had a great location and was good value for money despite the above shortcomings. Specific Highlights or Issues: While in Thailand, we did some shopping to buy unique products. Unfortunately, upon our return to our home country when we opened our suitcase that we stored purchases, we noted the perfume box had been taken and realized they only people who had access to our room was the housekeeping staff. Naturally, we are upset about this, and we feel we have been violated. We had a wonderful time in Thailand but the theft from our hotel room at Montien Surawong Hotel has stained the experience. We would appreciate the hotel to reach out to us and resolve this issue. Overall Rating: We would have rated this hotel 4 out of 5, despite its claim to be a 5-star hotel. Room is huge, clean and beautiful! I had a very very good stay in Montien! :) will definitely book again in future :) totally recommend. There is a Burger King just outside the hotel. Walkable distance to a decent massage place. There is a 7-11 nearby too!
