The WestLodge Hotel is an excellent hotel just a short walk from Bantry town (the walk is right along the bay, with gorgeous views), with very comfortable and well-appointed rooms, and very helpful staff. Breakfast was perfectly fine, I can't comment on the restaurant in the evening as I was in town most evenings. The accompanying leisure centre has a nice jacuzzi and steam room that is complimentary for hotel guests. A very relaxing stay, will definitely return!

My wife and I were recommended the hotel bar for good food. How wrong they were. I thought it would be impossible to bugger up lasagne but it truly was awful. No tomato taste, no garlic..no seasoning at all if I’m not mistaken and the mildest of cheap cheddar, of which there was far too much. My wife’s chicken curry just tasted of curry powder and the two biscuits that came with it one assumes is a pale representation of naan bread. It wasn’t cheap, but it was by far the worst meal I’ve had in a long time. Even McDonald’s would’ve been better.

Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. Dinner in the restaurant was included and was top quality. The room we have overlooked the front on the hotel and we were never disturbed with noise from the road. The staff in the hotel are lovely. Whether they are in the bar or restaurant they couldn’t do enough for us.

I travelled with Caledoninan Travel and booked a single room and was delighted when i had a double bed all to myself. Room was spotless and modern. Bathroom was absolutely gorgeous but the shower was a bit awkward to get temperature just right. As the showerhead was at least 7 feet high i had nowhere to hide as i was adjusting the temperature which caused a few squeals and giggles. I slept so well as it was a very quiet hotel at night which makes all the difference. Breakfast was buffet style and catered for everyone. Vegan veggie etc. Full Irish, continental breakfast, Our evening meal was a 3 course meal and every dish was delightful. Portions were very generous and all vegetables fresh. No tinned carrots etc. Always nice and hot too. I was with a coach trip and as meals were included I was amazed at the quality and quantity of them. Usually hotels have a seperate menu for coach trips but this was exactly the same as everyone else had. I cannot find any fault with this hotel. Definitely the best ive been to with Caledonian Travel.

Bit of a nostalgic trip for my wife and I. This was the first hotel we ever stayed in and that was over 40 years ago. We did stay a number of times after that but we have not visited for many years. So it was a great surprise to see how much this hotel has changed. From the moment you walk into the lobby you get a great feeling about this hotel. The décor right through the hotel has been updated and everything is very modern and spotlessly clean. The update to the bar bringing in more space with the new library area is excellent . Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The main dining room was not open last night , which was not an issue, but we did eat in the bar and this had fabulous food and a great choice off the menu. Again top class service. As we are now retired and just an hours drive away this hotel will defiantly be on our list as we do a lot of mid week short breaks . One thing which I must also add is that their rates are excellent. Congratulations to all the staff at the West lodge for delivering a great hotel for Bantry.

We stayed at the hotel as part of a coach trip. Due to late arrival we were provided with soup, sandwiches, tea and coffee. Our double room overlooked the car park out front but were not disturbed by the road noise at all. Our room seemed to have been recently revamped. It was immaculately clean and had all the facilities you would expect including iron, ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryer. All the staff were lovely and helpful. Nothing was ever an issue. The hotel has a fairy trail, pitch & putt course, longer walks around the hotel. There are cottages on site, leisure facilities and even a parking area for motor homes. Drinks are reasonably priced in the bar too. We would not hesitate booking this hotel again!

Just home from a four night stay at this beautiful hotel. The staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming and even though our coach group arrived after 10pm the dining room staff stayed on to give us soup and sandwiches as we had missed the evening meal. The breakfast buffets had a good selection of cereals, a choice of fruit juices and pastries as well as fresh fruit and freshly made cooked breakfasts. I only ate one lunch in the hotel (having chosen not to go on a day trip) and the food was fresh, very tasty and plentiful. Our bedroom contained a double and a king size bed and my only criticism would be that the wardrobe was too small. In addition to tea, coffee and biscuits available in the room, the bottles of water each day were most welcome. In the leisure centre the staff were friendly and helpful and I had a lovely spa treatment by Katrina who was so kind. The hotel and leisure centre are spotlessly clean and there was live music on two evenings. The grounds are extensive and there are several walking routes. We chose the Fairy trail and enjoyed looking out for fairy houses all along the route. There are also lodges to rent on the site and even an area for motor homes to park. I would love to visit the Westlodge Hotel again.
