Hotels in Newcastle upon Tyne
Four Points Flex by Sheraton Newcastle enjoys a prime location within walking distance of Newcastle train station and the city centre. From here, you can easily explore this friendly city on foot, including the Medieval castle and the charming Grey Street district. The hotel is just a stone's throw from Newcastle's buzzing nightlife, and a 15-minute stroll will take you along the vibrant Quayside to the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. From here, you can cross the Tyne to the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art. The 98 contemporary rooms are designed with comfort and convenience in mind, and coupled with the welcoming hospitality of our thoughtful team, you'll feel right at home. Breakfast is served in our modern lounge bar, where in the evening, you can unwind with your favourite drink.

"The location is fantastic, just a four or five-minute walk from the train station. St. Nicholas Cathedral, the castle, and even the Tyne Bridge are all nearby, making it incredibly convenient. It's very quiet at night. The facilities are average, and I think the cleanliness could be improved."

We booked this hotel for its location near to both the railway station and Utilita Arena and it was perfect. Staff friendly, breakfast included. One point to note re parking which isn’t free (you only get 15 mins free to check in) - parking is in the Grainger Town car park and cost us about £30 for less than 2 days. Double beds are quite small but otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

I think this could be a really nice hotel with a few tweaks. The location is great, down a quiet side street away from traffic and noisy bars/clubs. Our room was a good size and felt comfortable. The front desk staff were very friendly and check in/out was fast and easy. The main let-down was cleanliness. I felt the cleaning could be more thorough, especially in the bathroom, as the grout was visibly pink. There was also dust under the desk and behind the chair. Noise was also a problem for us. I understand that this is not the fault of the hotel but the guests, but the noise does travel quite easily so I was woken up late night and early morning. Doors could be adjusted so they don't slam and the rooms could be better soundproofed.

Room was very tired. This use to be a lovely hotel but now, from our recent experience, it’s very much fur coat and no knickers. Lovely reception bar and dinning areas but our room was definitely not what Hilton use to stand for. Our room was very very tired. The wood work was all chipped and looking shabby, the pleather head board had numerous bare/worn areas and there was mould in the bathroom. Not sure if all rooms have these issues our just the ones you get if booked through trip.com.

An amazing stay at Hampton by Hilton Newcastle! The location is unbeatable—just 2-minute walk from Newcastle Central Station, and only 10 minutes to Quayside and St. James’ Park, super convenient for travel and sightseeing. The free hot breakfast was fantastic, with fresh waffles, classic English breakfast and even porridge, perfect for all tastes. The room was clean, quiet and cozy, with a comfy bed, ergonomic work desk and free high-speed WiFi, ideal for both leisure and business trips. 24-hour front desk offered great service with luggage storage, and the 24-hour gym with Peloton bikes was a nice bonus.

We had booked a junior suite. On arrival we were greeted warmly and efficiently checked in. We were given our key and told we were in room 118. We were told that we had to go up one floor in the lift and then backdown the stairs as our room was in between floors. It was the only room at that level. Had I have known that I wouldn’t have booked it as I was travelling with my mum who is post surgery with a new hip, and stairs and luggage were a bit of a challenge. Anyway, once inside our suite was perfect. It consisted of a living/dining/kitchen room with a sofa, TV and pretty much a full kitchen, I.e Hob, fridge with an ice box, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The bedroom was made to feel a little small as the bed was absolutely huge, it also had a TV in there too. The bathroom was quite standard but spotlessly clean. The only gripe I had was there was only one electric heater and that was in the bedroom, so if you were cold I had to go into the bedroom. Would I stay there again…..yes but perhaps in a room that didn’t need to climb stairs.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to Newcastle Central Station, and just a few minutes' walk from the city center and major transport links. Value for money: The hotel offers a good stay at a reasonable price. While the facilities are a bit dated, the rooms are comfortable and meet basic needs.

Right across from the train station, literally a one-minute walk. It was incredibly convenient for our trips to Windermere Lake District, Durham, and Edinburgh. Plus, the train station has a supermarket for breakfast supplies.
