the sheets are given in a transparent bag and you have to make the bed (we had booked a private wax for the whole group. it is not easy to make the beds in height, considering that the bed ladder is not positioned correctly and you risk getting yourself bad. room 211

So many better hostels in Barcelona. They really cheap out at this place. There’s a charge for a new room card, towel and printing which is the first time I’ve experienced this during my stay in hostels. They don’t provide hand soap, a small bath mat/towel or blow dryer. The toilet light turns off about every minute so you have to keep pushing it, same with the sink AND shower. They say they’re eco-friendly but they’re really just cheap. They also have a million rules like no eating or drinking in your room and quiet hour starts at 10pm. They might as well put “no having fun” as an official rule. Location sucks as well. Front desk people (at least at night) look pissed off if you ask them for literally anything (like to turn on the AC or to unlock your door). Rooms are also tiny and we could hear the guy in the room next to us snoring. If you want to enjoy your stay in Barcelona, PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Response from Property: Hello! First of all, we welcome all types of travelers at Twentytú, from families to groups of students, athletes and backpackers, so we always try to create the best atmosphere for all our guests to be comfortable and feel at home, in a quiet and familiar environment. Therefore, it’s important that the conduct and behavior of all guests is correct and civilized, these clauses are well marked on arrival and is reflected in our rules for groups, which is signed by the teachers. So, if it’s important respect the rest of the other guests, and from 22h we consider it’s time to be relax because people was visiting the city during the day and they need to sleep. About the deposit for the keys, we don't understand your complaint, this is very common. In order to keep the keys, we ask for a deposit of 10€ per key, which we return at check-out. This way, we make sure that no one loses or breaks the key. Twentytú is classified as a Hostel, we are not a Hotel, so in this kind of accommodation the towels and the amenities are not included in everywhere. The Hostels don't include the same than the Hotels. So, you cannot claim for services that are not included, and you have the service information that we include in our website. However, you can rent the towel and you can buy the amenities in our 24 hour reception for a good price. In addition, we offer free hairdryers in our reception, you only have to ask us, we work all the day. As a sustainable and eco Hostel, we work to contribute for the environment and we use the latest technology to take care of the environment. So the, bathroom light have a timer system of few minutes because we consider it’s necessary to use the light in a good way. Therefore we give importance to the responsible use of the consumption of all resources, in this case water, one of the most necessary goods for the survival of human beings and which is becoming increasingly scarce. Currently, climate change has caused different impacts on the water cycle, which is why there are many droughts, melting glaciers, rising sea levels, and changes in rainfall and snowfall. These impacts depend on the uses that humans make of water, since we consume more water than we can afford, for example, during a shower we use an average of 15-20 liters per minute, which is equivalent to the same amount that a person drinks in 50 days. Therefore, we consider that with the timer of our showers we make a good use of water consumption and, thus, we contribute to the planet to conserve as much water as possible. As we point out in the group rules, upon your arrival we inform you that you can not eat in the rooms, as this can cause pests in all the rooms and we want all our guests to be comfortable and in good conditions. In addition, we have a very large dining room and a large terrace where you can eat whatever you want. However, there is no problem with drinking water in the rooms, the only thing that is not allowed is to drink alcohol inside the ro

These days, hotels are a very pricey option if you want to do a city breaks holiday and are not planning on spending much time in your room or ordering room service. We decided to try twenty tu hostel as we want to travel more with the kids, and thought the hostel experience might make things more interesting, whilst also help to be able to save some money and allow us to do other things in the city. This was an excellent place to stay. It served as a great base to come back to. The rooms were safe and decent....and cook. There is a great communal area to cook and eat. There is a supermarket next door to buy stuff you need too. The only reason that I didn't give a 5 out of 5 was because the video games were not available due to updating the amenities and the live music guy on Thursdays was on holiday. The people who work there are super friendly and helpful. We will recommend this to anyone coming with kids and who want to be out all day walking the city curbs.
Response from Property: Hello Dominiquetewart, thank you for your comment! We are super glad to read your comment, it was a pleasure to receive you and your family, and we are happy you and your family enjoyed your experience in Twentytú Hostel. For us it's very important to offer to our guests the best services and to make you feel at home and comfortable. We are sorry about the videogames, these weeks we are just finishing the installation, it'll be ready again in a few days, but we offer table games and we've pool to play whenever you want. About the live music activity, we regret it wasn't possible the week you came, but the rest of the summer we offer this activity every tuesday and thursday. Hope to see you again soon family, Twentytú is your home when you want ;) Twentytú Team

We stayed at this hotel at Barcelona and it was a new experience. Pros : The hotel has a Lobby with 2 attendants 24 hours which is good. They were nice and informative. They allow you to keep bags at the lobby inside lockers with keys in case you check in early or need to store your bags after checkout for the rest of the day. Price, wasn't cheapest option but was below average at this high season at the city. CONS: 1.Rooms are Very small. It felt more like a narrow cell. Like sleeping inside a Walk In closet. A narrow 1 m hall with 2 bunk beds leading to a bathroom. If you have luggage and use the hall to open it, you have to jump over it to move. 2. Bed was hard, not comfy. Pillows flat. 3. Light turns off every certain amount of minutes. They have timers and all is controlled from the front desk downstairs. At 12 they come off. Even if you are using the room. You have to call the front desk and ask for them to turn them on. There is no phone in the room. You have to go outside to call. 4. The rooms are not Sound Proof. All the street noises come in to the room: cars, people talking,, trucks, bangs... Etc. Even though the street. Really disturbs your sleep. 5. You can't control room temperature. Another thing the front desk controls is how cool your room is. If you feel to hot you got to ask them to turn it down. So many things that supposedly claimed to be "Smart and Green" are really annoying and uncomfortable to the guests. They keep their Costs low. 6. No drinking water fountain. You can buy from a vending machine or serve yourself a glad of tap water. 7. No Towels. You want one? Pay 4 euros at the front desk for each. Im sorry, but I didn't enjoy my stay at the hotel. All the modern features save money to the owners but it comes with sacrifice from the guests.
Response from Property: Hello Joe, thank you for valuing any of our services! We regret you have this opinion about us, in Twentytú Hostel we work every day to offer the best services to make our guests feel at home and comfortable. First of all, we aren't a Hotel, we are a Hostel and we offer the services included in this kind of accommodation. So, the towels never are included in Hostels, and we consider we offer the towel service very cheap in our 24 hour reception. The telephone is a service not included in the rooms of Hostels, but in every floor there are one telephone just in case you need to call us. Ours rooms are thought only to sleep and to use the private bathroom and showers. We consider there are enough space for the basic needs, and it has different lockers to keep your luggage. However, in Twentytú Hostel we have big common areas where you can do a lot of things and live nice moments. The beds have passed different quality controls, we’re sorry you didn’t like it, but it depends on every people, we can't match everyone's comfort and liking. About the light timer, in Twentytú Hostel we have a sustainable technology systems installed to use the resources in a good way. So, we consider it’s necessary to respect the rest of the guests, so at 0.00h it’s time to relax until 08.00am, but in the rooms there are lights on the wall that there are on all night. The same happens with the bathroom and shower lights, it’s open all day. The same happen with the temperature, our domotic system allows to control all the temperature of all the areas in Twentytú. In this case, all the rooms are in the same temperature, but we can change it if you request it. In every room there are sleeping different people with differents own temperatures. So, if everybody is changing the temperature this is not a good way to use the air conditioning and our values are based on optimizing resources to the maximum in order to make the best possible use of our resources. Our rooms have a soundproofing system. The walls have double plasterboard, which contains a noise insulating material. But it’s impossible to avoid all sounds, the same thing happens in all the accommodations in Barcelona. In Twentytú our values are based on offer the best services always in the sustainable way. It is not about economics, it is about being responsible with the planet, with the environment and with human beings themselves. Finally, we offer water from the kitchen, is potable and the quality is good. But if you prefer bottled water we have a vending machine to buy it. So, we don’t understand your complain. Twentytú Team

Let me start by saying that my rating is not on the hotel (the hostel...) itself, otherwise it would be OO... My rating is on what this place gives you in relation to the hotel situation in Barcelona... The location it is excellent, because we are a few hundred meters from two different metro lines, there is a supermarket underneath and if you want to walk Sagrada Familia and Barcelloneta are just a few km away. The staff is very kind and helpful, plus there is Alice who is Italian and who is fantastic. You can leave your luggage for free if you want. The water is drinkable, as in all of Barcelona, even if it is very bad. The rooms are disgusting... Comfortable beds, but stairs for those at the top are dangerous and impractical. Small but clean room, very poorly organized bathroom (toilet and shower-basin in two separate rooms, for no reason...), sheets provided and no towels, it's not clear why... The price is high, but for Barcelona it's the best value quality/price you will find...

This is the 2nd time that I have chosen this hostel for my group of 40 students. It's really great! The location is TB if you have to travel on foot, the rooms are functional and clean, the common areas are perfect. The welcome and the service are also top notch. 2 small downsides: the really hard mattresses and not enough glasses in the canteen if you want to be there in the evening for example. We will go back!

€144 for a hole with smelly sheets with a shower without towels. Seen from the outside hi-tech inside horror I understand that Barcelona is expensive but structures like this should not exist. Not recommended

Response from Property: Hi Mar! First of all, we find the tone of your comment disrespectful, we don't think we are worthy of such words. At Twentytú Hostel we work 24 hours a day to offer the best services to our guests and create the best possible atmosphere to make you feel at home. Your attack on our technology, which is used for sustainable good deeds, suggests that you have misunderstood the benefits we bring to the planet and society. Therefore, we believe that you are wrong to comment on something that you do not understand or know. We are sorry about the sheets, but we doubt they were smelly, as they are sent to a special laundry for cleaning and we received them clean and smelling fresh. However, we don't understand why you didn't come to our 24-hour reception so we could offer you new sheets. At Twentytú we are classified as a hostel, so we offer the services included in this type of accommodation, we are not a hotel. Therefore, towels are not included, but can be purchased at a good price at our 24-hour reception. As for prices, today Barcelona is one of the most sought-after cities in Europe, so prices have increased for everyone. Furthermore, we are in the month of July, in full high season. We hope that sooner or later you will be able to see us with different eyes :) Team Twentytú

All the rooms in which my friends and I stayed had something not working and were very small compared to the photos on the site. Furthermore, the regulation is very limiting and unfair with very expensive sanctions.

Response from Property: Hi Daniele, we are sorry that you have this opinion about us, but we do not agree with the opinions of your group. At Twentytú Hostel we work 24 hours a day and are always available to solve any problem and it is important to us that you feel comfortable and at home. However, Twentytú Hostel is not a party hostel and we have a set of rules for everyone's good behavior, so that there is good coexistence between all guests. Therefore, we do not tolerate incorrect or illegal behavior. At check-in we inform all group leaders of our rules. If these rules are not respected, there are various fines that the group will have to pay. Our rooms are designed for sleeping and using the private bathroom and shower, while we have large common areas with many amenities, such as the kitchen, dining room, sofas and terrace. The photos of our facilities are taken in real size, so they show reality. Team Twentytu

The rooms were small and dirty, the hostel policies are absurd and severe, for anything there is at least a €100 fine, the common areas closed early, we returned from dinner by 11pm and the terrace was already closed to guests.

Our rooms are designed for sleeping and using the private bathroom and shower, just as we have large common areas where you can live new experiences and meet people. Our cleaning team cleans all rooms and common areas every day, we don't understand why you describe us as a dirty hostel. Furthermore, any problem that may occur can be resolved at our 24-hour reception. By regulation and to respect the rest of our guests and our neighbors, our common areas close at 11pm, as we cannot stay open later, we're not allowed to, it's not our job. Maybe it's a prison! You can't breathe because it's a 100 euro fine. If you assume that it is a hostel, but it is definitely against young people. Small homes, the arrival room has a ladder to share that does not move from the center, so that you can parkour to undergo. The cleaning ladies do not respect the timetables when they arrive. A DESASTER! Better than a prison! you can't even breathe and you're immediately fined 100 euros. It's supposed to be a hostel, but it definitely is but it goes against young people. Small rooms, the bunk bed has a shared staircase that doesn't move from the center, you have to do parkour to get up. The cleaning ladies didn't respect timetables, they came when they wanted.
