This hotel was so unique. It not only has a fun history and featured in a book, the rooms are so dated and the steam shower was great to come home to to relax. Dinner and breakfast were all perfect and added to the appeal of this place. Would def come back to stay

Wonderful staff who are so welcoming and helpful and a stunningly beautiful structure (both interior and exterior) combine to create the perfect accommodations in the Tividabo neighborhood of Barcelona. Breakfast was delicious and the ability to explore and enjoy several different seating areas outside with a coffee or a glass of wine was so relaxing. The beds are so comfortable, as was the bathroom. Terrific showers. We just felt so pampered—wish we could have stayed longer! Metro and several places to eat are a five-minute walk away.

Charming atmosphere in a historical previous residence with a backyard covered area for lounging and dining (excellent food!) surrounded by fruit trees and a beautiful garden. The rooms were comfy with all the extras you need to make it special. The staff were accommodating and friendly and always willing to make the stay enjoyable. They were so patient with a couple of later nights we spent having drinks outside with our good friends from home who met us in Barcelona--never complained or asked us to "wrap it up"! The lobby was well decorated to preserve the original decor but with modern touches. In the hotel's library you will find the famous book "La Sombra del Viento" written by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, a well known Spanish and International Author from the early 1900's. The location is a bit on the edge of the city but it was a nice respite from the hustle & bustle of a very busy Barcelona.

The staff - Julio, Mikaela, Mark, Albert, Emiliano, Alejandro, Salvatore, John - I’m sure I’m missing some and not spelling properly, felt like people we’d want to visit us if they come to Chicago. They made our trip as much as anyplace we visited.
