Arrived at a fairly run down looking complex, check in was fine. Entered the room, a few light bulbs not working so had to turn everything on for light. No air con as per the website but the window only opened 4 inches and the fan provided was covered in dust. No ability to charge a phone on the same side of the room as the bed which was annoying, all the power is on one side of the room. The tv is lined up with the far edge of the bed (minor annoyance). Only one quilt in the room, approximately 13.5 tog at the end of June. Pre paid for unlimited full breakfast, day one, coffee machine out of order, sachets of instant coffee only. Continental breakfast has no meats and cheeses, just bread, pastry, cereal, yoghurt and still partially frozen fruit. My cooked breakfast was cooked to order and all fine except for the black pudding which was soggy and floppy, clearly just microwaved. Day 2, still no coffee machine, cooked breakfast was under hot lamps, bacon still oinking, eggs snotty, black pudding still a no go, day 3 still no coffee machine, no croissants and more frozen fruit. I did have one evening meal in the restaurant which was fine.

Only used for 1 night stay as was staying elsewhere for the week on holiday and was easier to travel down on the Sunday. Price was OK but it was a Sunday room was OK for what we wanted but the bathroom wasn't cleaned properly and had hair left in the sink and bath. We got breakfast which the food was nice but the service was poor which was because of the lack of staff that was ok. Wouldn't stay again would look at alternative hotel.

I was disturbed several times during the night by loud, thoughtless guests parading past my door. A family with very excited and uncontrolled youngsters and 2 different groups of drunken and loud young adults woke me up at various different times - shouting, laughing loudly and thumping around, calling up-and-down the corridor and slamming their doors. This occurred at various times between 10pm and 3.30am - a horror for any person trying to get decent sleep! It was so bad that I’ve pretty much decided to always choose any other hotel than a Premier Inn, in future. As constructive feedback, I’ve stayed in similar hotels abroad where business people, families and holidaymakers are assigned to rooms that are on different floors or in different areas of the hotel premises. That way no-one’s sleep, fun or revelry is ruined. A bit of thought and care with room location and allocation would make a huge difference. But, as it stands, I don’t trust that using this hotel again will be worth the cost, given the probable level of disturbance and subsequent lack of decent sleep. The other 4 people in my party, each with their own room, suffered similar disturbances. We were not all in the same part of the hotel, so the loudmouths were definitely spread around to ensure the suffering was shared and that no-one got a decent night’s sleep. Actually the opposite of the “good night’s sleep” tagline the brand claims to espouse. A horrible night and very frustrating experience - it just goes to show that you should never believe the marketing hype!

Excellent stay here in Barnstaple providing a good centre for the area. Cannot fault the hotel. Only observation to make was that the Table Table restaurant next door took a while to serve up the meals possibly due to stretched staffing levels. All staff at the the hotel and restaurant were very friendly and welcoming.

Ideal for exploring the area however the hotel and restaurant are very tired and in desperate need of upgrading and refurbishment. I thought it was poor for a Premier Inn.

This was our second visit, the last being a year ago. We wrote to the company then suggesting the a lick ok paint would improve the experience and give the company a much needed boost Sadly nothing has been done and the building is just as tired as it was last year. The outside areas were very dirty with cigarette ends, paper, used cutlery littering the areas. On a positive note the staff were excellent but are let down by the corporate inaction to the building

Very reasonably priced night stop including breakfast. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and quiet and I had a lovely sleep. The breakfast unusually wasn’t a buffet, you ordered and it comes freshly cooked which is far better. Probably the nicest full English I’ve had with quality sausages and poached eggs done beautifully. Complements to the chef and the rest of the staff.
