For the over 70s it a nice place , however for anyone else poor value. It's a care home for the elderly where they can be fussed over. Not for families

This will have been our 6th visit or so, over many many years. The level of service is second to none and I genuinely wish other hotels would send their staff here to learn what hospitality really means. So lovely to see so many of the same happy staff (which says a lot). Special thanks to Sayed, Ramadan, Gary, Richard). There's a new member of staff called Luis and he was great - so kind and attentive. We had superior rooms this time , spotless and lovely facilities. The food has always been superb and nothing has changed. I cannot wait to go back. Thank you Imperial Hotel.

Excellent Hotel , in great location in Barnstaple. Close to Shops, market and theatres and near to North Devon coastal resorts.

If you never do anything else ..stay here... its utterly lovely. Country House style on the tidal estuary but so conveniently situated for everywhere..Rooms, service ( thats every single person and department WITHOUT exception) , food , ambience and enjoyment. Also stayed in other hotels in this exceptional hotel group...never disappointed. Nothing more to say.

Not sure how many times we have visited, but the standard remains consistently high. We particularly really enjoy the dining experience, breakfast and dinner. Sometimes it goes a little wrong with servers forgetting one particular item. One morning it was tea and one evening our starter, but both were rectified quickly. But the hotel is not just about the restaurant staff, the receptionist are brilliant and the chambermaids are friendly and really efficient at their job. Overall excellent stay and look forward to coming back.

Big thank you to Bethany, Havey and Gary, I wish I could remember more staff’s name as everyone works in this hotel is so nice and professional. I am so lucky to get an upgrade for my room, this hotel should be rated 5 stars. Service is perfect, my room is nice , clearn and comfortable. I paid 50 pounds for gala Ester dinner, it is very good value as I got drink and 5-course dinner. I love this hotel and will definitely come back with my family. Thank you to everyone in this hotel.
