This is a beach villa. You can see the sunrise over the Indian Ocean when you wake up! It's quiet and you won't be disturbed! Breakfast is ordered and tastes good. The location is relatively remote, so you basically eat in the hotel.

Complete delight) Starting from the staff who greeted us at the entrance to the hotel. I didn’t want to leave at all, but we were able to book only for one day; there were no villas available for other dates. The general manager met us and we had a personal assistant.
Everything is so beautiful, rooms with a private courtyard are more private than those with access to the sea. The interior is very stylish, a cool area for tea and a shower outside, and the most important thing is the presence of a bathroom) In the main building there is an area for working on a computer and a children's area - an incredibly beautiful room. There are many photo zones on the beach, there is a bar near the pool, and waiters serve drinks. The breakfast is perfect, the presentation and the dishes themselves are top class. We liked the dinner, we ordered a dish from the chef, it depends on the catch that day. We had lobsters. Everywhere they give compliments - coconuts upon arrival, shrimp by the pool, detox drinks for breakfast, etc. We travel a lot, but this particular hotel has sunk into our hearts. Probably, it’s also a matter of emotional attitude towards each guest. The general manager, Umberto, an Italian, accompanied us along with the rest of the staff. We'll definitely come back again.

The hotel looks very primising in the pictures, beautiful setting and facilities. Unfortunately we were a bit disqppointed on the way it is managed. It looks like the place is abandoned relying on its own structure and pictures.
Pros:
- beautiful setting and location, in front of a beautiful beach.
- rooms are well done, big bathrooms, nice outdoor area.
- faclities have a beautiful decoration, the bar, the restaurant.
Cons:
- cleaning! The resort has a cleaning issue. To the point that we wrote "clean me" with our fingers on the restaurant toilet mirror, and it was there during our entire stay. Nothing has regular cleaning, spots everywhere, toilets are terrible specialy the poil toilet (see pictures).
- bar drinks are not good. We tried many drinks and juices in all the hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka, and this one we had to give up, drink after drink, juice after juice, were not good at all. Also the drink glasse come very very dirty.
- bar is beautiful but never had any music during our stay. Its a silent empty place, no one uses it... and the bartender usualy is not there which makes it a ghost place.
- service is welcoming but not prepared. For example before you reach the breakfast area upstairs they ask you: "what do you want for breakfast? So i dont have to go upstairs to ask", overall staff is tired, not motivated and have no training, they are as abandoned as the hotel.
- spa was closed during our entire stay, because the lady had days off. So we booked a hotel with a Spa that did not exist...you have to be lucky not to book on her days off.
- when at check-out i tried to tell them the place have lots of potential but they need to pay attention to this details they just replied: thank you for your stay, please make us a review on tripadvisor! So they just don't pay attention... which is sad to see. I wish they could change the management and have someone motivated and energic to transform the place into the best hotel in Sri Lanka, because they could be.

Wat een schitterend hotel! Je lijkt wel aanbeland in een film, wanneer je vanuit je 'tent' (eigenlijk gewoon een luxebungalow) rechtstreeks over het witte zand de azuurblauwe zee inloopt! De plek is echt paradijselijk: geen kuststrook met het ene hotel naast het andere, opdringerige venters op het strand en mensen die 's ochtends naar hun stoeltje rennen... Nee, dit is precies het tegenovergestelde: geen enkel ander hotel in de buurt, op het strand enkel wat authentieke vissers en verdwaalde honden, en soms zelfs een slenterende koe... Heerlijk. Dit is vakantie! Stress of drukte voel je hier simpelweg niet: het hotel was volboekt (er zijn een 15-tal kamers) en toch heb je op geen enkel moment dat gevoel. Ruimte en rust zat. In en rond het hoofdgebouw heb je een mooie bar en een lekker restaurant, en vooral een fantastische, grote infinity pool die wel in de Indische oceaan lijkt over te lopen. Maar wat het echt af maakt is het personeel: stuk voor stuk vriendelijke mensen die je met de glimlach bedienen, je helpen waarmee ze maar kunnen of gewoon een praatje slaan. Het komt op geen enkel moment fake over, je voelt oprechte gastvrijheid, en dat is echt fijn. En dat allemaal bovendien in prima Engels (en dat is zeker niet overal het geval in dit mooie land). Een grote dank aan Namal, die ons continu bijstond, en aan de zeer recent aangestelde restaurantmanager (wiens naam ons even ontglipt) en zijn team. Kortom, zeer knap wat Umberto, de manager, hier heeft neergezet op de amper negen maanden dat hij aan boord is! Proficiat, en... BEDANKT!!! We'll be back!

Un lieu magnifique pour des vacances de rêves ! Un cadre paradisiaque, un hôtel splendide, un service de qualité, une cuisine raffinée, … tout est parfait au Karapaha Sands. Grande tente famille, décorée avec beaucoup de gout, très confortable, une douche extérieure, une baignoire, tout le confort d’un 5*. Des petits déjeuner exceptionnels, des menus variés, des plats de grande qualité avec des produits frais, un choix pour toute la famille. Un majordome au petit soin tout au long de notre séjour. Des expériences incroyables : massages ayurverdiques à ne pas manquer et movie under the stars à faire absolument. Un très très grand merci à Umberto, le General Manager, dont le professionnalisme, et la serviabilité ont rendu ce séjour exceptionnel.

Paysage magnifique, glamping dans une tente avec une douche en extérieur, plage de 15km déserte, jus de fruits servis sur la plage,… en plus Umberto le général manager accueille et a mis sa touche dans la carte du restaurant… penne à la vodka, gnocchi frais en plus de tous les curries Sri lankais. Et s il vous prend en sympathie peut être vous fera-t-il un risotto aux aubergines marinées avec gamberoni… un régal Réservation de une session cinéma familiale sur la plage… incroyable souvenir Et un butler qui s occupe de nous en permanence Le paradis

WOW… still unspoiled places left in this world.. you and som 15 other families and then all the local fishermen.. the setting is lovely.. the glambing setup yihaaa.. Daily servings packed with flavor and just solid. No need for your work laptop here - that would be stupid. I’ll be back for sure.

Un endroit extraordinaire , fusion de cette plage , du raffinement des propriétaires français et du manager / chef italien. Une vingtaine de tente , sur la plage de sable fin. Une grande piscine bien exposée. L’authenticité des pêcheurs qui s’activent le long du rivage de l’aube au coucher de soleil. Réveil à 5h30 conseillé pour un lever de soleil époustouflant. Service de butler 24/24 au besoin. Soins Ayurveda de qualité. Prix occidentaux mais standards 100% respectés Hautement recommandé.

Beautiful hotel, very friendly staff. The tents and espesially the shower is so nice. The only drawback was that the air condition was very noisy and quite inefficient. Food was good. Nice beach. A lot of activites in the hotel and around. Cinema was cool.
