Aparta-Hotel Villa Baya by Mireya
4.4/55 Reviews
The hotel is super central in the place. All you need is reachable in 5min (the place is not so large in itself) The checkin has worked super fix and the two booked rooms were also as shown in the pictures. Rooms work through the floor and furniture quite dark, but let nothing miss. Daily we were asked whether we wanted to clean the rooms. Owner José was a supporter and helped with all questions. When I come to this hotel, I'd like to come back to this hotel. Theme ”Noise”: whoever travels to the Dominican Republic will soon realize that the Dominicans like a little more loud. So here too. Not every evening, but always plays sound music and the sound motorcycles drive through the small streets. But this theme has nothing changed in the cozy atmosphere of the hotel. It is a ”usuality” that you find in many places. The only preaching of the church on Monday evening, which was to hear up to 23Uhr throughout the place, was new to me.

Sunscape Dominicus la Romana - All Inclusive
3.7/546 Reviews
I’d like to start this review saying that we are seasoned travellers. We’ve stayed at several all inclusive resorts in Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico and decided to try sunscape dominicus la romana. The lower cost was appealing therefore we lowered our expectations prior to trip. We stayed at SD sept 10-20, 2024. We consider ourselves pretty easy going vacationers so you won’t read comments from me complaining about the “towel game” which in my experience has gone on at all resorts we’ve been to, or slow service, cold food etc. I will start with the negatives just to get them out of the way. Having stayed at resorts in the past in the month of September, which is slow season, often we’ve experienced that not all restaurants will be open. This was the case during our stay. The issue was restaurants closing would change on a daily basis without any form of communication informing us as to which ones would be open. A few of the days a sign would be posted outside a restaurant informing us as to which restaurants would be open, but most days there was no signage. They have a resort app but the information was not updated on it regarding the changes, Therefore it left people wandering around resort trying to find an open restaurant. We found ourselves feeling really bad for the families with young children trying to find an open restaurant. I hope management has corrected this by now. We also experienced a lot of bugs, mainly mosquitoes also in our room and room patio, and outdoors. I suggest you bring some sort of bug spray and after bite cream. The after bite cream really did help the mosquito bites.I got a big mosquito bite that itched and the cream immediately stopped the itching.Other resorts we’ve visited spray indoors and outdoors for bugs and this one clearly isn’t. Also, first time paying for upgraded rooms and not having waiter service at pool and beach. I knew this before our trip by reading another review so it wasn’t an issue for us.Now for the positives! First and foremost the beach is spectacular! No seaweed,no sargassum . Just beautiful clear blue calm warm water. There are lots of palapas (huts) for shade on both regular and sunclub areas on beach. There were a few stones/rocks but not a lot. We actually brought water shoes but didn’t wear them. Our room was also very nice. Room was sun club junior suite ocean view adult only pool access. Very comfy king bed, 4 wonderful king pillows, great assortment of toiletries, 2 robes,2 pairs slippers, whirlpool bath ,shower, free room safe;Smart tv. You can sign into yr Netflix, prime, etc on tv also. We were pleasantly surprised that room was located at front of adult only building (14) on 1st floor. Couldn’t really see ocean but happy that we were very close to it. We are beach people so we’re happy to have such a short walk to beach. Our maid Rosa Luis kept our room spotless and well stocked every day. Wifi was very good also, even on beach . When I mean good, I mean good for Dominica
