Seagull Bay Motel

This place is AMAZING! So modern and updated with decor inside & out! The patio setting was so relaxing outside over looking the water. Location is great, walking distance or just a small drive to town. The path in front of the place is great to walk along the water and get to town as well. Can't wait to visit again!

I emailed the owners, honestly rarely give much feedback on where we stay unless it’s really bad or really amazing! But sadly Seagull Bay falls on the mostly really bad scale. I did reach out and have not heard back from the owners on our stay. Awaiting a response.

I’ve been coming here for many years . Usually get the main motel kitchenette room. This time my son joined me and I really wanted almost guaranteed quiet and privacy . The brownstone cottage fit the bill . It’s a totally separate small - house really - cottage within the woods just south of the main motel. Private drive . There is the hotel’s Bay West - large house with several rooms back up the hill but I had no noise from there while there for a week at the end of May. There’s a fully stocked full sized kitchen includes anything you could need .This includes a full sized Frig/freezer. A huge gas grill is outside on the deck. I loved most getting up early and taking coffee to the deck table/ chairs and listening to all the birds. There’s a really nice screened porch with comfy chairs/ tables , living room , dining room . 2 bedrooms , 1 and 1/2 baths , large closets , extra supplies, pull out bed couch etc. There is a lake view but it’s not huge . Not compared to the motel sitting right on the lake . I liked the quiet of the woods . Check out the pictures on line.

Perfect location, so peaceful, clean and just an overall great stay with a gorgeous view. You can walk to town on the trail right in front. Pet friendly! Comfortable bed. So quaint and glad they kept the “mom and pop” motel feel instead of turning the place into condos like so many of the old WI resorts are doing. Oh and sooo happy the entire property ( not just rooms) is smoke free.

We stayed here for three nights as part of a three week road trip. It’s in a really beautiful spot and our room was very nicely decorated - very chic and lovely colours and furnishings. The motel also had lots of extras to offer to make your stay super special. Only issue was the window, the views were beautiful, directly onto the lake - but the blind didn’t fit the window and is pretty thin so it did not stop much light getting into the room - we didn’t sleep well as a result. It is aesthetically pleasing though and tbh we probably also had some jet lag as this was only our second stop.

The owners are very accommodating and respectful, they made us feel welcome before we got there with updates by email, the rooms were clean, well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The views from the porch were so beautiful overlooking Lake Superior. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

The atmosphere at Seagull Bay will immerses you into a spa like feeling as you climb into the crisp sheets and admire the newly remodeled motel and the scenic overview of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands! The locals treat you like family and the owners of this motel guide you through a treasured experience in Bayfield! This motel is a must for me each time I visit. Oh and the owners boys are as cute as can be. Hope you spot them on your visit!

Just returned from a 5k road trip from Denver, Seagull Bay Hotel was one of our hotels during the three weeks and our FAVORITE! The place is so relaxing, that I barely wanted to leave. The suite had everything we needed during our stay. Our room faced the lake which was amazing, we had a killer sunset one night. We took the walking trail every day to town, we never drove once we checked in. If you are headed to Bayfield WN this is the place to stay!

This was a super cute motel with a great view. Was exactly what I needed on my short stay in bayfield. It was also priced right and worked perfectly for a motorcycle trip through up north WI. Everything was clean and well maintained, and I really enjoyed the view of Lake Superior. Being able to listen to the lake at night was quite nice.
