I've been coming to The Chequers for a long time now but haven't been for a few years due to lockdown and the pub looked closed for a while. Very sticky table and very sticky menus. Salad I had with the meal was crunchy, not in a good way, more like a small 6 legged way. They don't do cuppachinos/lattes etc so I had a normal coffee which had to be sent back because the milk was off plus other stuff floating around. It was changed with a coffee with slightly less stuff floating in it. The waiting staff weren't experienced and didn't really know what they were doing, but pleasant enough. Landlord was quite an abrupt person who I would not want to complain to so I've cowardly used TripAdvisor as a platform.
