Beechworth Lake Sambell Caravan Park Reviews

This caravan park has been around for a very long time, hence the sites can be quite small. However, the non powered sites do have big sites to park. Only selected big powered sites for those with big cars and vans. The amenities can be a bit old but it is very clean. Staff keeps the place nice and tiny, amenities very clean. Staff are all very friendly and a big bonus, a staff will guide you into your allocated site. Lots of cabins dotted around in the park. Just a short walking distance to Beechworth township… we took the picturesque walking track along Lake Sambell to the small Chinese garden to town and that was about 1.7km. I think slightly shorter if you use the streets to town. Owners Roger and Sue, whom we have yet to meet. A big thank you to Derek (who helped us park our big rig on our first shake down trip) and his wife, Yvonne, Brett (helped us to the site on this trip), Jackie and Kim and Phil. All the crew were friendly and helpful. We hope to be back one day when we are in the region. Fingers crossed, we get the same site

Great park with lots of facilities. Cabins were clean but a tad dated. Beds very firm. Quite expensive for what you get. Hosts were very helpful & staff very friendly. I would have appreciated a gate on the veranda for the kids as it is very close to the lake. The pitch & putt is great for the kids & adults alike. The beautiful creek running along the park is a pretty spot for a walk.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It was an unplanned stop but a wonderful surprise. We had a non powered site with space and privacy, a view of the lake, forrest and birds galore. The walk around the lake is a must do and the rail trail bike rides in the area are fabulous. We also rode out to the canyon one day which was fun. Town is riding or walking distance from the CP. Phil and Jody were so full of knowledge and incredibly helpful especially when I couldn’t decide on which site to choose. Thank you so much guys we will be back soon!!!

Great park in a beautiful setting easy walking distance from beautiful Beechworth. Highly recommend and would love to come back when next in this amazing area. Great managers, nothing too much, and they keep an amazing Park. Keep up the great work.

Great ambience. The walks from the lake were impressive. Facilities were functional and clean. It was too far too walk into town and this is not apparent when looking at a map. You will need some self catering as the food scene in Beechworth is poor mid week.

Great spot and friendly staff. Couldn't do enough to help even though we were only one night. The amenities are excellent and the grounds a credit to the owners. Beechworth is a great little town Would recommend to anyone, one of the best we've stayed at

A fantastic park, all staff so very helpful . Added extras to help us enjoy our stay (hose extension, good reception caravan cord. We had a new van (for us ) Roger very helpful when parking it. The amenities were exceptional...so clean , we chose to use them rather than our ensuite (except overnight) Dump point very accessible. Will definitely stay there again. 5 stars from us

Beautiful park great amenities, very friendly and helpful staff. Lots for the kids to do at no extra cost mini golf volleyball ect. Also have canoes at a small fee.cabin's were very clean and well stocked kitchen. I would highly recommend this park.

This is the second year in a row staying at Lake Sambell and i couldnt recommend it more highly. Clean campsites where fires are accepted, super affordable, lovely staff, extremely clean ammenities, a range of activities, beautiful location and only a very short walk to the town centre. Planning a trip for next year already!

Great place and easily the best in Beechworth. The new toilet block in the middle of the park is great (dont use the one down near the lake, we are pretty sure it hails from the middle ages... - though it is good that they kept it just in case you have a bit of an emergency in the middle of the night and dont want to stroll up the hill). There are also additional showers down by the lake which are fine. We stayed down the bottom with our van easily reversing in to the very end spot. There are really only 4 powered sites right next to the lake but if you get them they are great. It can get a bit windy but the views are worth it. The staff are great and very friendly and helpful. The location is really good, you are about a 3 minute drive into town, or a longer walk (I wouldnt know, I'm lazy and drive everywhere....). The only compaint I had was nothing to do with the staff of the park itself. People, when you travel with your van, please for gods sake make sure your gear is fit for purpose and in good working order. The old couple on the van site next to us (up hill), had the oldest grey water hose I have ever seen. It had multiple cracks, and many many other areas where it had been repaired by tape. It was truly in need of replacing. Further, pointing it downhill towards our site, rather than down the slope as it should didnt do anything to improve relations. On top of that, the fittings at both ends of their hose had seen better days and saw then continually leaking. Even one of the park staff mentioned it and tried to help but eventually had to turn the water off so it could be repaired (it wasnt, they just waited until he left than turned it back on again). By the second morning we were stepping out of our van into a moat running along the entire front of our bay. I offered to help with taping up the grey water pipe but all I got in return was a snarky retort. It really is a great park and the people staying there were having a really good time up the top area. We had a good time, but it was a little disappointing that some people dont care about others. I give the park a 10/10

It is the best caravan park. The staff are amazing,friendly and very helpful. All the amenities,sites and the park itself are inmaculate. Its like a five star hotel. We had the best time played mini golf every day, walked and the fire pit and wood were excellent. Thankyou guys we will be back soon loved it Julie Brown

As well as being a clean, well-maintained and friendly caravan park, Lake Sambell also provides lots of little extras that improved our stay - such as escorting us to our site, pegs on the clotheslines, bathroom music. Highly recommended.

The caravan park is very clean with a beautiful little stream running through it and a lake. The spaces are not squashed close together like some other parks so you have your privacy from neighbours. It’s an easy walk into town from the park and plenty to see.

We stayed in a pet friendly cabin and as a family of 5. The park was beautiful and our cabin was right next to a beautiful little creek. With free mini golf, badminton/ volleyball court and a playground our kids were in heaven. The staff were friendly and kind on the phone and in person. We will definitely be back again.
