The staffs are very helpful and there are water refilling station, coffee machine, teas, candies/snacks available in the lobby. There is a free shadow puppet show every tues, thurs and sat and the show is amazing! After the show, the master will show the audience how the puppets are being made and how they are moving. The bedroom is average. There are insects on my side of the bed. Not sure if it is because it is near the window. I'm also a light sleeper so the noise proofing is not really good as I can hear the children playing in the hallway so better have earplugs to block the noise. Location was a little hard as it is in a hutong and there are no food stores nearby when you walk out of the hotel. The nearest train station is maybe 10 to 15 mins by foot. Since the hotel is in a hutong, the streets are really narrow only allowing one lane of car to pass by as the other lane is occupied by parked cars. It was hard to take taxi.

This is my favorite hotel in Beijing. Inside the Huton, with a very nice design. But most of all the puppet shadow art theme is amazing. The staff is very nice and helpful and so are the owners. Will be back soon.

Had great experience stay at this residential area with amazing hospitality from the frontline, Wen Wen and Mia. They are really assist all way their can. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable and for your great hospitality!

The interor of the Hotel is beautiful and sylish and I would stay here again ! The room furniture is older but bedding and towels are new and nice. Bed is very comfortable. Loved the puppet theme ! Loved the area- good if you want to be right in the middle of a chinese neighborhood. The one thing that needs improving is reception staff. They need training how to welcome the guests and need to be more proactive. I saw coffee and tea near reception and looked at the coffee machine a few times but did not know how to work it and no staff ever offered help. But all in all nice good value Hotel.

Amazing dtay, I stayed for 3 nights, very calm and smooth stay. Location is in the middle of the authentic old houses, walkable to nearby night market. Getting in and out is tricky by taxi, better to walk to main road and take a taxi from there and vice versa. Subway is 10-15 mins walk but taxi is always faster. Hotel is clean and proper, reception and staff is helpful .

My first time in China and I could not have chosen a better hotel. All the staff are excellent so friendly and helpful, especially Joselyn who is a star. Her English is excellent and helped me so much. The room was perfect, the bed and pillows so comfortable, great wifi and hot powerful shower with good air con. The location was in a residential Hutong which was amazing yet within easy walking distance to lovely lakes, drum/bell tower area. Metro stations only 15/20 minutes walk and from there you can get anywhere in Beijing ( in 4 days I never used taxi just metro). A welcome surprise is the shadow puppet show which I thoroughly enjoyed and delivered with so much passion and enthusiasm. If you want to stay in a unique Hutong area yet be close to all the attractions you should choose this small friendly excellent value hotel.

Excellent hotel in a very nice hutong! I am familiar with a lot of Beijing hutong but I didn't know this area and I found it to be very charming and absolutely well placed. The hotel, though not being a luxury hotel, is clean and stunning, mixing old courtyard style with contemporary architecture. They offer (free of charge for the customers) shadow theatre shows three nights a week, and they are of excellent quality, with post-show Q&A with the master artist who explained the whole process of creating the whole show. The staff has been lovely and very helpful in any occasion.

The hotel was so nice I booked one more night there, as I had to prolong my stay in Beijing. The shadow art theme makes this hotel very unique. Additionally, the location is great, in the hutong area and close enough to the metro station of Beihai Bei. The staff is very kind and helpful, especially Lily and Mia. The room was fine and the service was always punctual. Recommended.

This hotel is in a great location down a quiet hutongs alley near the bustling Houhai Lake. Our room was lovely with enough space for 2 people and a spacious bathroom. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Beijing. The only improvement I would like is some tea bags in the rooms, as well as in the lobby. Also, we woke up early one morning and tried to use the coffee machine in the lobby at 645am and it was off.

Its our second time staying at this hotel, and we absolutely love it. The atmosphere is fantastic, with all the decor details taken fantastic care of. But what’s best is the team. All of them are so nice, professional, and friendly. Would recommend it a 100 times. Bravo!

We loved this hotel. Located in the Hutong part of the Shichahai area of Beijing it is close to bustling shops, restaurants and the Gongwangfu for sightseeing. The hotel is a very tastefully renovated traditional Chinese style building, well kept and clean with friendly and helpful staff (Mia and Joli in particular). The hotel has shadow puppet performances three times a week which are very entertaining and popular with young children and adults alike. The craft, history and tradition of shadow puppetry is also explained by the performer which was a nice touch. Highly recommended if you are looking for a high quality boutique hotel with a bit of a twist.

The hotel is beautiful! It's in the heart of a real Hutong, 5mn walk to the metro station. The Puppets show is amazing! It's very clean and confortable. We highly recommend it
