Jingshan Garden Hotel Reviews

We loved our room - nice views from upstairs over the rooves of the hutong. There was a soft comfy bed (if you like a firm mattress this isn't for you - but it wasn't our case.) The fruit basket was a nice touch as was the tea. As a coffee drinker, I would have preferred some ground coffee in the room instead of powdered coffee. I large bathroom with lots of hot water for the bathtub. We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel and especially enjoyed the dinners with many regional specialties to choose from. The egg crepes in tomato sauce were delicious and piping hot! The continental breakfast was more of a success than the American one. The bacon was not real American/Canadian bacon, but the coffee was good. We chose this hotel primarily for the coziness of the courtyard (the picture are very accurate) and the proximity to the parks and the Forbidden City and it did not disappoint. The night views of the illuminated temples at Jingshan park were breathtaking. The staff at Jingshan Garden Hotel went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. I had a language barrier at one point and needed help from a native speaker - and even though it wasn't to do with my booking, they very kindly helped me. They also helped communicate with our Didi driver to ensure a smooth pick-up because the hotel is IN the hutong and can be tricky for the drivers. I will surely stay there again when I want to spend a few nights in the city.
