Beijing Nanluoguxiang Ancient Rhyme Manxin Mansion Reviews

This is a truly fantastic hotel I’d definitely stay in again. It’s just off of Nanluoguxing, a busy tourist street with all kinds of food to try but is incredibly quiet. It’s a great location, within easy walking distance of many attractions in the Hutongs. There’s a metro station close by which is super easy to use with all the signs and announcements repeated in English. However if you get a taxi it might be best to get them to drop you off at the top of Nanluoguxing as getting a taxi into the Hutong isn’t always easy and it’s only 5 minutes from there to the hotel. My favourite thing is a little shaded outside area with some tables. Absolutely beautiful. The staff were friendly and welcoming. No issues communicating with those of them who don’t speak English, as they will whip out a phone and translate anything they need to tell you! They have me some free fruit when I checked in and as the weather heated up they doubled the number of bottles of water they gave me each day which was a lovely touch. It was over 30 degrees when I stayed but the air conditioning works brilliantly. That and an incredible bed made for a very comfortable nights sleep.

Great location and experience in the local Hutong.

I wanted an authentic stay in the Hutongs of Beijing, and I was pleasantly surprised to find such a gem in the heart of the city. Besides a bit of a walk through a narrow alley to get to the hotel, the stay is located in a quiet area but just minutes away by foot to the bustling Nanluoguxiang street. Service was always enthusiastic and polite, bedrooms are clean (I stayed in both a double and a single bed room), fruit is provided upon arrival and lovely music awaits you when you enter your room. The convenience of China is that any form of takeout or delivery is fast and efficient, and this hotel even uses robots to deliver whatever you need up to your room. I felt comfortable asking for anything I needed during my stay. The hotel itself is also pretty, with Chinese vintage decorations that make you feel like you’ve really transported somewhere else. 地理位置绝佳，环境安静，房间干净，服务态度非常好，一切都很舒适，下次还愿意住南锣鼓巷里的漫心！

Great location to explore Nanluoguxiang market. A decent walk to the metro station and the main road is required, but be prepared to struggle through the busy streets if you have large luggage. The hotel itself is pretty and modern. Cleanliness is top top and the staff is helpful and welcoming.

Although the hotel was quite difficult for taxi drivers to pick up/drop off directly in front of the hotel (can just walk out from the hutong and wait for drivers at the junction instead), it was definitely a pleasant stay! The staff (name: 十三） was very friendly and helpful, always check on our well being during our stay, making sure we were comfortable. She is enthusiast with her work and take pride with it. Whenever we have a request she would try her best to help us which we were very grateful for. The hotel cleaners were also helpful. As we are staying in a room that requires us to climb a few stairs, during check out, the cleaner actually offered to help us to carry the luggages down from the stairs when she was cleaning one of the rooms nearby. Another cleaner constantly check if we need a make up room service whenever we wanna go out. Hotel location for food and shopping was 10/10 as it was nearby 什刹海/后海. I will definitely would recommend people to stay here for a few days in Beijing as the location is strategic and the staff were friendly.

Atmospheric hotel in a hutog. Very quiet. Internet was not great, limited cell phone coverage in rooms.

We stayed for 2 nights in the hotel. The interiors of the hotel is beautiful. Rooms are neat and clean. At the reception it took more than average time to check-in (almost 40 min). Staff struggles to communicate in English. Many staff doesn’t know how to use translator apps. They can improve that to serve foreigners better. Breakfast is good with decent and tasty options. Although reaching hotel by vehicle is difficult, we loved the place as we could roam around Hutong every evening. Overall we had good experience.

The location in the old Hutongs is amazing, but it's harder to reach by cab. It's best to get off at the closest road or take a train. The hotel is close to public transport, and there are plenty of street food options nearby. The area could get busy with tourists, but the hotel is tucked away on a quiet street. They offer a good breakfast and free washing onsite. Our only complaint is that only one staff member (possibly the day manager) spoke English, and at other times, we had to rely on a translator for basic conversation. It's not a big negative, as it didn't affect our stay since we didn't have high expectations.

The Ancient Rhyme Manxin was everything we hoped it would be and more! We were looking for an experience that had some authenticity for the hutong life and it really delivered. The building is really cool and located in a currently residential hutong (alley), yet it is just one block from a really vibrant area with shops, snacks, restaurants, treats, and sights. It's a short walk to a metro stop and you can access the shared bike system at the end of the block to get anywhere in the city very quickly. Our room was cool, with a carved bedframe and it was clean and comfortable. The hotel manager Grace was beyond helpful and kind and friendly and spoke great English. The breakfast situation was fabulous - a huge, fresh selection of Eastern and Western options in buffet form - everything from fresh eggs to congee to noodles to friend rice to fresh fruit and cakes. This ended up being important because getting breakfast in China is not as easy as other countries - they don't really open up coffee shops and bakeries until later in the morning. Highly recommend setting up Alipay and WeChat before you arrive in China as everything is paid through those apps, getting an international cell phone plan and a couple translation apps. Not many people speak English, but we found it a friendly place with people very patient and willing to try their best to help you get what you need. But having Grace as a homebase touchstone was very reassuring!

This is a fantastic hotel in the hutongs of Beijing. It takes a little work to get there, but wow does this hotel pay off! Super clean, helpful staff, and in the heart of Beijing with all the cool restaurants, bars, and shops in the hutongs. They also have laundry machines available for use free of charge. This is my favorite place to stay in Beijing.

Excellent service! They even mailed the clothes my son forgot to pack to my home!

Really a recommended place for someone who likes a quiet and ambiance of old beijing. Located in a really good location near nanluoguxiang a really nice market alley. Helpful staffs
