Howard Johnson Paragon Hotel

Beijing Railway Station
Staff was nice but only a few people spoke proper English. I mainly used translators to communicate. Laundry is very expensive and location-wise it wasn't the best. To get to Forbidden city, for example, you need to switch subway line. In general, no matter where I went I had to switch lines. If you're looking for foods nearby, I recommend Awen Steamed Dumplings that's like 15 minutes by foot. The nearest convenience store that has proper options is Duodian Convenience Store.
Howard Johnson Junhe Hot Springs Resort Beijing

Shunyi Hot Spring Leisure Area
This hotel is pretty good. I wanted to find a hotel that had a warm kids pool so I could take my daughter to swim. The kids pool is pretty big and the temperature is perfect. As you can only enter the hot spring area once, I was able to let my daughter nap on my lap while my husband and I had some fruit and drinks at the seated area without having to leave the hot springs. The room is spacious and mostly clean. However, I wouldn't say this hotel is 5 stars. The decoration is outdated and needs to undergo refurbishment. The bath was dirty and had lots of things floating in it when we filled it up with water, so we had to empty and refill before washing in it. Then, when drying my daughter's hair with the hairdryer in the bathroom, the hallway light keep flickering and the hairdryer was cutting off. It seems there was some electrical problem with the socket. It started to make a spark noise and smelt like burning, so we had to quickly unplug the hairdryer for fear of it going on fire. The location is in the middle of nowhere, so it's not convenient if you want to buy food or snacks. i personally didn't like the hotel breakfast. It doesn't compare to other international brand hotel standards. Overall, it would a pleasant stay, but only because it was suitable for my daughter to swim..
