SO Sofitel Mauritius

Family vacation well spent! Beautiful location, lovely people and cozy vibes. From our arrival till our departure, we were pampered with special attention. Special thanks to Krishna for the setup. Warm faces and smiles made our stay memorable, thanks to Pradeep, Vanesha, Monisha, kimi. Food wise not too many varieties but food was good, maybe should improve on same. Overall stay was great, looking forward for another vacation soon!

Beautiful resort, but I was in Mauritius for business purposes, not for pleasure. The So Sofitel Mauritius has several issues, including maintenance problems and staff inefficiencies. While I did not experience any major problems, there were numerous minor issues. To name a few: I requested my laundry to be folded, but it came back on a hanger; the laundry list was not returned; one of my polo shirts was brought back unwashed, and a white shirt was forgotten. They frequently failed to replenish the coffee capsules in the room and charged a fee for them, which is usually complimentary in other hotels. This small detail felt a bit stingy. The water was not hot enough (apparently due to solar panels and lack of sunshine), and they had to give us another room. To be fair, the new room was an upgrade to a suite. While small incidents can happen, having so many of them indicates a problem. This is not up to the standard expected of a Sofitel. The staff mentioned that this hotel will be rebranded soon. Another issue is the requirement for advance payment. It was the first time a Sofitel asked me for an advance payment. Typically, hotels block the money on a credit card, and payment is made at checkout. I left after 4 days and moved to another hotel.

A design hotel nestled in the south, an art of the designer Kenzo Takada. Pradeep was doing the narrative and we were warmly welcome. Checking was done twice, a bit time consuming but we like the concept and the vibe. Shivani was warm and friendly as she explained about the hotel facilities. The room was in a bad condition, very old infrastructure and cleaning could be better, much older than last time we visit. Many light switches however most of them does not work. The only thing we liked is the private terrace overlooking the sea. We were quite surprised that we had a la carte for breakfast and dinner as buffet was advertised on Marideal, quite disappointing. We had quality cocktails at the bar, some of them are very pricey but worth it. Silvio did a great job. The pool was gigantic but not heated (as advertised) we came to know by the reception staff that the engine broke?? We had warm water in the shower and my husband had a running noise for days. Food wise was satisfactory, can do better. No entertainment at night, gloomy atmosphere, the windy weather did not help. Monisha approached us to put a 5* review but it does not do justice to the readers and future travelers. (Huge deterioration in service when comparing. Mediocre hotel however the staffs did an effort. We could spend more time in the hotel as we were given a late check out. We will not return as for the price we expected better, matter of fact we will not return.

The view was amazing, room was magnificent and my welcoming was just splendid! Big thanks to reception team ( Nilesh, Monisha) butler team ( vijay) who did an amazing job. Food was great too ! Highly recommend for everyone. I was here for my honeymoon and just wow ❤️

Had a wonderful stay with us. Amazing team and amazing stay.Food was good and looking forward to come again to mauritius soon. One word, great hospitality. big thanks to the team for making this holiday a memorable one ! The view from the room was just amazing!

Team was very friendly and welcoming.Special thanks to Rajiv and his wonderful team.The cocktails by barman Linley was the best I never had such amazing mojito. Great service by waiter Silvio. The service received from start of the the day till the end was superb.Really appreciate that the GM and Executive chef personally came to meet us. It is a value for money hotel✨

Returned from a very recent holiday, went for a special occasion and it just wasn’t what we expected of a 5 star. The hotel is very tired and the location is just too remote for what we like. Arrived and staff were friendly and the hotel grounds are really well kept. Our room was not ready till 15 30 pm Manager at reception was rude, he said he cannot help us. (Holidays starting well, yupii) Housekeeping missed to clean our room daily despite reminding reception several times. No hot water in showers. Not the experience we were expecting in this stunning location.
