A fantastic place to stay on the peninsula. The value was fantastic. The food was excellent and the scenery a joy. The staff was friendly and easy to deal with. No problems in the room. I enjoyed having a little bar to unwind before dinner. I highly recommend booking dinner there at least once during your stay.

What a fantastic place, we loved it and intend to go back. The owners are friendly and helpful, the other staff are attentive and efficient. The room we booked had a sea view which was stunning and beautiful. Although you couldn't get outside, the door could be fully open or tilted, this allowed the noise of the sea in. We ate in the restaurant, in the conservatory and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Loved this hotel, wish we had known about it sooner and would have stayed longer.

Oh my goodness, definitely recommend the restaurant at the Argyll Hotel. Simple ingredients cooked imaginatively and so tasty. Beautiful setting overlooking the loch, regardless of whether it's sunny or wet and wild. Lovely staff, comfortable lounge. If there is a negative, it's the paper napkins but that's no big deal. Definitely return (again and again).

Made very welcome when we arrived clean tidy rooms, lots of hot water. Food is outstanding, and the rum selection is a very good way to end the evening. 3rd time we've been, and it never fails to be amazing. The views across the sea are breathtaking at sunset.

We stopped at the hotel on a Friday evening because our rental car had a flat tyre. The staff were exceptionally helpful (Wi-Fi, charging phones, recommending taxis) and we enjoyed a pleasant hour in the bar waiting for the recovery service.

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch this afternoon. Roast dinner was perfect, fish dish as well and with the weather being perfect too, the views across to Islay were outstanding. Service was also right on the money, as was the bill! Could not recommend this place ang higher.

My husband and I have just spent another couple of days here. We have visited many times over the years and will continue to do so as long as possible. We were warmly greeted by Nick, Ian and the rest of the team like old friends. Our room was comfortable and adequate for our needs with a spacious en-suite. The food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner with very good helpings. It's always a highlight to be able to sit outside on the Terrace enjoying a refreshment in the sunshine while looking across the beach and sea towards Islay. The sunsets are stunning.

What a lovely hotel this is. Nick and Ian are terrific hosts, so friendly and accommodating. We stayed for five nights and enjoyed every minute of our time there. The food, both breakfast and evening meals are exceptional. We did not need to eat anywhere else. Their staff are amazing. Lovely and friendly. We so enjoyed our stay. We do not often say this about any place but we will be back.

Second visit here, for Sunday lunch on a spectacular day - ALL the seasons in the space of 2 hours! Sunday roast special - everything beautifully cooked. Special mention for the delicious apple gravy served with the black pudding-stuffed roast pork. Super efficient and friendly service. Faultless!
