Overall, the stay is good.

We stayed for 3 nights in the Standard King room bed over New Year's. Room: Highlight of the room was the sweeping view of Cubbon park! Opening the motorized curtains to the view was a special experience every time. The room had a nice sofa next to the view as well. The rest of the room was as you would expect in a luxury hotel: high quality and relatively pristine. Special shoutout to the super comfy hotel slippers with JW embossed on the side; and to the first time I've used a hotel-provided shaving blade that was too nice to throw away after one use. Only downside was the lack of charging outlets - I could only find two in the entire room. Service: Overall, service was outstanding. Suhasi checked us in and was present throughout our stay to answer any questions and help us with any requests. Housekeeping was excellent and timely when requested. Location: Fantastic. Nearby roads are relatively conducive to walking. So many places to shop/eat at within a 15 minute walk. Anything else you might need is a short cab ride away. Breakfast: Included with the room. Buffet was extensive and delicious, as you would expect at a luxury hotel. Misc: The hotel hosted an extravagant NYE party. Getting into/out of the hotel during this time was a hassle with extra security and elevators completely packed. The prior night also saw several private events which rented out entire restaurants/areas in the hotel. Minor nit, but we tried to get dessert at one of the hotel restaurants during this time only to be bounced between restaurants which were each closed for their separate private events. The breakfast experience on Jan 1st was also disappointing. For whatever reason they decided to move the buffet outdoors. There wasn't enough seating in the new location. Most guests were limited to a standing table, or just standing and eating. The entire thing was quite unorganized with no prior notice. The guests who were lucky enough to be seated got all of the attention from the waiters. Some guests entered without a table and over time acquired a table for themselves by waiting next to one. Not what you would expect from a hotel of this stature. These were minor nits in a highly positive experience. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend!
