Sol Pelicanos Ocas

Ideally located and always clean. Shame the food starts half an hour later than the other hotel though

Me and my partner got half board and found out a few days later after arriving that they’re are 2 hotels one better views, better & more options for buffet & the trip helps down the bottom to help with anything excursion related. Why is this? We only found out when we said this buffet looks much better tried to walk in which we got stopped and told we have to leave our buffet is other building we where and still are angry we felt dumb & robbed at the same time can anyone explain this to us so we at least know why?

NOT a family friendly hotel! We stayed here for 2 weeks in June. For the most part, we did have a lovely holiday but I could never recommend this hotel to other families with children. We were put in a ‘family room’ in the Ocas building which meant we had no balcony. The room was TINY! As a family of 4 with 2 weeks worth of clothing, there was no where near enough storage space and nowhere to dry wet towels and swimwear. The 4th bed was a pull out bed which wasn’t even raised off the floor. The air conditioning was shockingly bad which made the tiny room even more unpleasant to be in. The doors into the room weighed an absolute tonne and had no safety shutting device on them which meant they slammed shut with such force that a child would be seriously injured if caught in them. The bathroom door did not have a lock. There were only two lifts to service 11 floors and one of the was out of order for the majority of our stay. The lifts felt very unsafe - take notice of the weight limits of the lifts! We didn’t spend too much time in the room and hoped to have lots of fun in the fabulous pool outside. The yellow t-shirt pool wardens immediately put a stop to anyone attempting to have any fun though. I’ve never been to a family friendly hotel which does not allow any form of pool toy to be played with by children. No floaties were allowed, absolutely no balls, no volleyballs, no bats and balls… nothing! If anyone dared to pass a small spongy toy around our group the horrendous security guards were straight over with backup from several other members of staff. We were made to feel like criminals not a family who just wanted to enjoy some quality time with our children. We were told off by security for the silliest of things which made us not want to spend time around a pool that we had worked hard to pay for. We were bed and breakfast and found the food ok. Breakfast was repetitive but plenty of choice. We used the snack bar a few times which was also was not bad. Our room was tended to every day. Fresh towels daily and the bedding was changed every few days. Found the cleaning staff helpful and friendly. Benidorm itself is obviously a rowdy place with lots of younger, often intoxicated groups of people. Every shop we passed had an array of explicit T-shirts and phallic shaped items on full display. But this is to be expected I guess! The old town is a much more family friendly place with nicer bars and restaurants. If we ever return to Benidorm it certainly will NOT be to the Sol Pelicanos 👎

This is our third time coming to this hotel and after coming back again for my daughter's 21st birthday day WOW!!! We had a lovely time at Sol Pelicanos, everything was brilliant, staff work really hard and were very polite also the food was very nice lots to chose from. One of the employees who really made our time special was Pablo, he always had a smile on his face and a spring in his step! He always came to chat with us, made sure we were okay and got us to join in with activities which were so fun! Pablo is a real credit to Sol Pelicanos. We hope to come back soon.

We stayed here as a group of 10 mothers with adult daughters, and we had a fantastic time. Our room was in the pelicanos side, as I’d upgraded our room with a fantastic view of the pool and mountains beyond. There were 5 lifts, and although they were slow, we did not have any issues. The ocas side only had two lifts. Those staying in ocas had their own dining room for breakfast as did the pelicanos, and we were told we couldn’t go use other, this wasn’t an issue for us. The pool area was great with a fantastic bar, that wasn’t too pricey . The entertainment team were attentive and friendly. Location is key with this hotel. It is 5mjns walk to the beach and promenade , it’s just over the road from neptunes, which was busy and 10 min walk to the infamous *****. (Wouldn’t recommend for young families, and teenagers beware) . If leaving late there are rooms available for showering and changing, which are free of charge, so you can enjoy the last few hours of sunshine. But you do need to book at reception. All In all, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sol pelicanos ocas , and would recommend to those who want to be in the midst of everything .

Great place to stay while in Benidorm. Excellent location next to the main entertainment venues and very close to the beach. This was part of a package holiday with Jet2 for £1330 for two of us for five nights half board (including flights from Bristol and transfers). We arrived by 1pm and our room was ready. This was great as it meant we could leave our luggage and start our holiday. It felt however, that we were second class citizens being sent to the other block - Ocas. The room was basic and facing other buildings. Not even a pool view. This didn't matter too much as we only used the room to sleep. Comfortable bed, air con, tv, hairdryer, towels, hand wash, shampoo and shower gel provided. No need to take any notice of bad reviews. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good. Breakfast 8-10.30; Plenty of fruit, cereals, pastries, cooked breakfast (if you like streaky bacon) and juices. On our depature day, we reserved early (continental) breakfast at 6.15am. Evening meal 7pm onwards: plenty of meat and fish, salads, chips, pizzas, soups, pasta and sweet. Water was the only drink available unless you paid for all inclusive. Fantastic pools. They open at 9. The sun is there all day although surrounded by tall buildings. Be sure to be there early to grab your own sun beds. In mid June, it wasn't too crowded. I really liked the pool bar. €3.65 for a pint of Cruzcampo in a paper cup, cocktails €6.50, €2.70 for a soft drink. Food is also for sale in the pool area. We had a chicken wrap and chips for €7.50. All reasonably priced. We also spent two days on the beach for a change. €6 per sun bed which was worth it, because it's such a nice beach. There were some issues with lifts being out of order. I hope they get these sorted by peak holiday times. During our five days here, they were not seen to. Our room was on floor four, therefore I was happy to walk the stairs if the lifts were busy. Not so easy for elderly people and people with injuries or disabilities. I'm happy to recommend this hotel to others. A very very clean place. I would stay here again because I want to return to Benidorm for the sun and entertainment. However, I'll be looking for a room only accommodation next time, because there are plenty of cheap food outlets in the area.

Worst hotel ever, 4pm check in ridiculous, watching paint dry is quicker than getting the lifts, food disgusting had 1 breakfast ate out the rest of the time. And the pool though I was in prison the amount of rules they had, ur suppose to be on holiday, the guards in yellow vests must get an incentive for taking balls, inflatables and they even have a phone so they screenshot how long u hve been away, and the amount of police through the night at the hotel. Been to Benidorm 8 times wouldn’t go back to this hotel

Stayed in June for 4 nights with a group of friends. Lovely clean and friendly hotel. The room and balcony was very nice and comfortable. Room cleaned with fresh towels every day. The pools and bars are very good. We stayed B&B. The breakfast was very nice, plenty of choice and not too busy. Had a great time in Benidorm.
