I really just want to start off by saying i am not one to complain, i go on multiple holidays a year and never once have i been so upset and disappointed with a hotel. I travelled with a family member. When we arrived, we had to wait about 30 minutes in the queue to check in, we were given the 18th floor which was ok. We got into our rooms and it was so un clean! there was hairs everywhere and marks etc.. we led on the beds, as you do to test them and O M G!! it was an absolute brick, not even the firmest firm , it was a rock!!! we both were incredibly shocked at how horrible and hard these beds are! We went down to reception to ask if we could swap rooms as that bed was crazy hard, Practically they admitted they buy the cheapest hardest beds so they don't wear out.. The manager of the reception gave us 2 more rooms to try on level 17, and level 5 star we were considering to check out and fly home because it was no way we could sleep there. we tried both rooms and they were still so awful but the better one out the 2 was level 5. We just had to make do at this point but we were so upset after spending £800pp to come here for 6 nights half board! We tried to move hotels after contacting our holiday provider but it took so long and in the end it wasn't worth it for a couple nights but this did ruin our holiday. In the end, after about night 2 I discovered the sofa bed had a flimsy mattress that we took off and placed on top of the bed, crazy that a flimsy sofa bed 'mattress' was 'comfier' than the hotel bed! after spending 3 hours trying to sort this out, we went to the beach and had some food and drinks there and agreed to not let this ruin our holiday... After seeing the reviews when we arrived (should have looked on here before booking, our bad) we saw the food wasn't very good, on the first night it wasn't too bad, maybe because it was the first night we saw the variations and wasn't used to it being reputative every night. Oh also, water is not free. WATER! $3.50 for a bottle of water, that is insane, actual robbery. The second night onwards the food was disgusting, and i have a good appetite and I'm not fussy but it was inedible and ended up eating plain pasta and rice from then. I had salmon that was chargrilled on the top and raw and cold in the middle, the 'steak' was just chewy tasteless meat and every night was the same slop and plain carbs. I did infact enjoy the fruit, it was very ripe and tasty. The breakfast was just standard, a lot of flies at meal times, the coffee machines hardly worked so the queues for that were lengthy. The waiters and Waitresses in the restaurant were so rude and just completely unhelpful. I asked a lady for some water, that I had to pay for, and she just murmured, no yes, no ok just a noise. We ate out some nights because we felt so miserable eating in there, to add to that, there is no atmosphere in the food hall, just bright lights. The staff do not care about anything unless its positive. The lif

Needs upgraded, shabby furniture, cracked tiles and visited by cockroaches in the room. Not very clean although spotless beds. Cheap plastic balcony furniture and no pull out washing line so everything draped over chairs. Elsewhere what used to be a dining room on a previous visit is now a cafeteria. Food lukewarm, poorly presented and cheap cracked crockery. Took me 3 attempts to find a cup without a chip and never spotted saucers! Eating outside was a nightmare with pigeons. Leftovers on tables being a feast and staff eventually clearing tables then left the food lying behind a screen where the birds were in a frenzy among it. This hotel needs a good upgrade, ventilation shafts in corridors are hanging off, the pool toilets are very poor, and the lifts dirty. The only compliment I can give is the outside pool oasis is well maintained and all staff were nice enough although harassed a bit. It is just not 4 star quality at all. Very disappointing.

Poor standard. Food cold and not well presented. Cockroaches in the room. Needs totally upgraded. I had a meeting with a manager who shrugged me off. No offer to do anything which was a disgrace. This was our 3rd visit in 10 years. We usually stay at Old Town which we prefer.

Stayed at the melia for one week with my husband and 13 year old son. We had a great time. Location is 10 minutes away from beach and near the *****. Lots of shops, restaurants and bars near by. Mundomar animal park is a 20 minute walk away too. We went half board and the food was good, my husband is vegetarian and managed to find plenty to eat. I think if we were staying longer the food might be a bit repetitive but was great for the week. The room was clean and comfortable, air con was good. Fridge is well stocked but you have to pay for anything you take, which can be quite expensive. Only thing I would change about our stay was location of the room, we were right next to the lifts so was quite noisy at night. Pool area is lovely and we always managed to find beds. Pool was very cold but lots of people seemed to enjoy it. Game room was fun, we played pool after dinner most nights. Staff were all friendly and done a great job.

Everything excellent - one small thing, the warm food at breakfast was ok but not great. The selection for breakfast was great, loved the fresh fruit, cheese etc. Room, staff, facilities all excellent and would come back here anytime - and probably will.
