So the gym is pretty much abandoned, nobody uses it. The changing room is cramp and not very clean. Hot water from the showers is acceptable. Perhaps the two ladies and guy at the counter can do more to maintain the changing rooms rather than sit down all day playing with their phones. The guy waiting at the pool area acting as ”lifeguard” for a 1.3-1.5m deep pool is not necessary at all. The room we booked was fine. Warm, spacious and clean. The interior is clearly showing its age and we saw scratches on the bathroom door from years of sliding in and out. It would be nice to have power outlets on both sides of the bed for personal phones and tablets. The bathroom was surprisingly cramp, however the shower provided ample space. The restaurants and shops inside all looked closed inside the hotel so we visited a small shopping mall next door for food and groceries. For Benxi, it will be hard to find anything better because there aren't many options out there. This is why we'll probably come back again.
