This has been my second trip to the Kamp and it has been as comfortable and exciting as the first. The Kamp is located approximately 15-20Kms from the famous Kanha Game Reserve, depending on the route taken. The Kamp itself is made up of 4-5 bungalows including a seperate meals area, it is in a wooded area which makes one feel of being in the jungle. It is 500m-1Km from the actual core area of the game reserve. A couple hours after our arrival, Baru (owner of KK) took 6-8 of us for a stroll outside of the perimeter fence of KK and spotted deer was seen by all in the group. The accomodation is comfortable, clean and very well maintained, the rooms are spacious bright and airy, each unit is separated by 8-10 meters from the next and makes one feel they are the only ones there. I believe KK can accomodate upto 20 guests. I cannot praise the kitchen staff enough. During both my visits they couldn’t do enough for us, with early morning coffee's, and packing our breakfasts for our morning drives, to the scrumptious lunches and dinners that were served up. They truly are a decent bunch of guys About Baru, a very knowledgeable and entertaining person, he has an extensive knowledge on the flora and fauna of the area, he is friendly and makes one feel very welcome, he goes out of his way to make one feel comfortable during ones stay. He spent the evening in our company and organised a bon fire and BBQ which was welcome by all especially during the cold December evenings. The next morning Baru drove us to the Kanha gate and accompanied us on our morning drive. He truly is an exceptional host.

The best place to connect with nature, wildlife, astronomy and off course food... the room was very well maintained with no sign of any insects inside, though in a dense woody area. Host Rajesh Baruah and Ameya Gokarn shared their immense knowledge on wildlife and nature...highly recommended place for digital detox also and cut off from daily mundane grind...Sonu bhaiya (self made Chef) cooked amazing meals, having in a nice cozy dining area with Bon fire space & a Hammock next to it..A stay worth coming back to...

Spent 3 nights and 4 days in June 22 at KK, up there with the best relaxing holidays I have experienced and the other 4 adults accompanying me totally agreed. This is no Hilton, Sheraton, or Oberoi, no TV’s, jacuzzzi’s,bars,or Discos, what it sure is a place one can unwind from the crazy world we are currently living in, its a place our parents would take us in the 70s 80s and 90s, close to nature, where we could stroll through forests with tall trees, watching monkeys, birds, and nature just go by. The property is surrounded by tall trees and bush land, there are 4 bunglows that can cater for upto 15/16 people, the rooms are large and the beds comfortable, the bunglows are kept very clean and tidy, all bunglows are fitted with an evaporative cooler for the summer months and a ceiling fan for other times, no aircons, all the bunglows have a verandah at the front where one can just sit and read a book, sip on a G&T (all alcohol is on a BYO) or just kick back and snooze the afternoon away. There is no pressure from staff as to meal times, just inform Bumesh (Manager) as to when you would like to be served and that’s it. The staff, what can I say, friendly, welcoming, non intrusive, and always ready to help, starting with Bumesh,( Manager, concierge, butler) one of the best I’ve met in my many years of travel. Nothing is to much, his knowledge and helpfulness is beyond compare, Sonu, the Chef, his food was down to earth home cooked Indian meals that was to die for, he produced 15 breakfasts, 15 lunches and 15 dinners and every single meal was wholesome scrumptious that demanded 2&3 helpings. If ones looking for croissants, bagels and anything exotic, look elsewhere. Some of my tastiest Indian meals I tasted at KK. Kaka, the general hand that did all the odd jobs around the Kamp, quiet and just went about doing his thing. The Kamp is located around a 40 minute drive to the Kanha Tiger reserve main gate, the roads were being worked on while we visited and I’d say in about 6 months the drive shouldn’t be more than 30 minutes. Baru the owner of the Kamp can organise all rides and all paperwork required to expedite ones entry to the Reserve. Let me come to my favourite about this Kamp, there’s limited mobile connectivity, so one can actually learn to actually converse again rather than have their faces buried in ones mobiles or tablets, we had 5 in our group all with different mobile servers of which only one worked, your not going to hear from me which company it is because I’d like KK to remain quiet and peaceful, instead of people screaming into their mobiles In conclusion, if ones looking for quiet peace and tranquility, this place is for you, anything else, look elsewhere. A big thank you to Baru, Bumesh, Sonu, and Kaka, an absolutely outstanding team.

It's great place to be... Out of the busy lifestyle, we otherwise have. If you want to just unwind and relax then this is the place in the jungle itself. Very peaceful and worth getting cozy in bed early morning with the chirping sound of the birds. The cordial hospitality and food provided by the staff members adds value to the overall bliss. A place worth visiting again. No TV and limited mobile signals relieves you from the addictivity, for a while.

To get to the stay The place is a good 4-hour drive from Jabalpur or Nagpur. (Tip: It is better to book a self drive and travel from Nagpur, Public transport has it’s limitations and don’t take if you are time pressed and used to luxury). The stay Your adventure begins from the moment you reach the Jungle stay (so tempted to call it a resort but it’s just more than that). You will surely enjoy the view of from your room, it’s a modern place however with less or no intervention to nature. The beautiful boulevard of trees on just outside would have its share of birds, a haven for an avid birder. Check in is a breeze and you are escorted to your room. The rooms are absolute value for money, a beautiful sit out, a verandah and a bedroom ***** with attached toilet bathroom. I didn’t expect too much for the money I paid but I was definitely surprised. The charm of the Kamp Kamouflages lies outdoors, in the paths cobbled with stones, in the bird calls, the butterflies, snails, and sundry wildlife. I was taken on couple of evening walks by Rajesh, an amazing story teller/resort owner/naturalist/philosopher/guide/children’s book author and the list am sure is longer than I can type. Also, did I mention Rajesh was the perfect host and he had answers for any of your questions and needs, please plan in advance and seek as much information. Another noteworthy mention is that the entire jungle stay runs on Solar; They are truly off the grid and experience wild as claimed by them. The staff is polite and don’t intervene unless you want to be intervened. The food cooked by Sonu is top notch; Being a vegetarian, I was treated a dose of Dal and vegetables everyday and never had an off day. Do ask if you want to try anything local. I had my share of Mahuwa a country beer made from the mahuwa flowers which is authentic to the place. Another huge plus is the absence of TV and Internet. Even the mobile connectivity is non-existent (Jio is the only network available) The whole property will give you the feel of perfect jungle stay. Tip: Stay there for minimum of 2 days if you interest is in the Kanha National Park. Book a minimum of 2 safaris to try your luck with cats but the national park has more to offer than Cats for that matter any national park does.

We stayed for 4 nights in December 2021. The place is eco friendly. The rooms are very nice with a bedroom, another single bed beyond a partition and a large attached toilet. Small verandah too. It is surrounded by trees. It is in the jungle buffer zone or just next to it. We had campfires..the food was very good. Simple, tasty, and wholesome. Sonu the cook even made separate food just for me to cater to my specific diet requirements. The host Ameya Gokarn took us on walks in the buffer zone. We spotted tiger pug marks within the first 10 minutes! Ameya is very knowledgeable and a fantastic host. The safaris were arranged very well with specific drivers and guide who are very good.the place is about 30 to 40 minutes drive away from Khatiya gate of Kanha National Park. We took 5 hours driving time from Nagpur. Highly recommended for people who don't want the intervention of TV and internet. Only Jio works.

me and my family had a very comfortable stay for 5 nights at kamp kamouflage which is a serene place in the kanha national park. The ambience is very natural with only solar powered electricity, cozy clean rooms, delicious healthy homely local food, very courteous staff and service and very Polite hosts Mr Rajesh Baruah and Mr Amey Gokarn. Best place for the nature lovers who value minimalistic approach for nature conservation for the betterment of our planet. A must visit place for people looking for a good family time or "Me" time to indulge in self. I look forward to my next visit sooooon.

Kamp Kamoflage is an excellent place for people who want to be close to nature, enjoying the early morning park safaris. It is located in the buffer zone of the forest area and so good chance of sightings not to far away. Deer and other wild animal, jungle calls are common. The park safaris are gripping as one needs to follow the tiger trail. The food preparation is good and Sonu, his team of cooks are kind and will take care of you well. Ameya Gokarn, Naturalist and Wild Life photographer is very passionate about what he does and has been associated with Kahna Tiger Reserve for many years. A place worth visiting again. No TV and limited mobile signals are a blessing for some.
