Days Inn Birch Run

They were so rude and threatened to call police because I was late checking out

Had trouble finding hotel. Poorly lit when found. Had to register at adjacent Best Western. Overall not a favorable impression. Very unfortunate.

It ****** i was double charged and still havent got the money back from the motel i paid for the room with you in advance why did the motel also charge me

To start the hotel layout is very weird because multiple hotels have become one, but all operate under their own names still. We saw multiple people struggle to figure out where they were supposed to go before finding their way back to the first building under a different name. Secondly, it appears that the room used to have a bunch of windows on the front and is boarded up with painted plywood from the appearance. There was a gap around the door that you can see the light from outside. The hotel was not in good quality or standings. You could see multiple dings and damages around the entire room that left it unappealing. Going with a larger family it gave the size we needed to accommodate us, however, the standards were not very well.

My room was nice and clean, although did smell a bit smoky. People smoked outside their rooms and I believe the smoke traveled into my room. Breakfast was great, staff was great, I didn’t know that it was right attached to a best western that had a pool and I could use so I was not prepared with the bathing suit. So if you book this property inquire about pool.

There were cigarette butts everywhere. I always stay at Days Inn and this one was the worst.

Floor of room was so sticky that we had to use a wet towel to clean it because our shoes and socks were sticking to it. The bed was hard as a rock, one thin sheet and one thin blanket with 3 flat, smelly pillows. There was no extra bedding in the room. The water in shower never got above tepid, there was dried toilet paper on the bathroom floor. The gap at the bottom and around the door was enough to see daylight through.

Had to change rooms because they have faulty wiring going to the outside lights, we could hear the circuit breaker popping every 15 secs. I reported it to the front desk, they did not seem to care that the building could have burnt down. They told us for the inconvenience they would switch rooms and give me a discount. No discount was given. Said the next morning they shut down that building. I reported them to the city of Birch Run, Mi.
