It is what it is, the room was clean, the staff friendly and located close to the airport. The hotel is looking its age and the communal areas are a bit tired, but as I say “it is what it is”. It’s a perfect base if you’ve an early flight from Birmingham airport. The receptionist was friendly enough, the staff in the restaurant were also attentive - even though there was a fight. But for the price it’s all acceptable and understandable. Clean bathroom, clean room, clean bed. Fine

An old place, I've been to other Travelodge hotels before but this one was really bad. The room was too small and you had to walk a long way to get to your room.

Hotel is a little bit dated but very handy Location for anyone attending the NEC. Bus brings you right to the door. It seems to be co-joined to a restaurant and although the Hotel doesn't do breakfast, you can get breakfast there for a very reasonable price.

Large car park, but needed to pay £10/24hrs. Convenient to Manchester Aitport. There is no air conditioning at room and the room was quite hot under the heat wave. Breakfast was nice.

The room was very small, just like a motel. Colleagues said that the sound of cars could be heard in the room, and the service was average. Wi-Fi requires payment and there is no hair dryer. But it's the cheaper one nearby.

As the picture demonstrates, the security was very high tech and I felt incredibly safe in this hotel. To add to this, the key to our room was also the key used for the main door of the hotel Walked through Toby Carvery toilets to get to our room, how stunning. I hope you can sense the sarcasm through this. Travelodge? More like a bail hostel

Lovely and clean, is a more dated Travelodge but still the same value for money and our room was spotless. Caren was lovely and helpful, we forgot to register our car for parking and she helped us contact the ticketing company and correct it. Thank you Caren! Would stay again!

Shower not working when we arrived at the hotel room , the morning staff said that she was new and did not know what was going on. We also wanted to add time to our check out but could not get assistance as to how to do it. Our experience was overally disappointing

Greeted by the lovely Syzanna on check in, explained where our room was and where was good to eat in the area. The room is old fashioned with big brown wardrobes but was exceptionally clean and smelt good too. We had breakfast in the carvery next door which is all you can eat and could do with being a little warmer. Checking out we was greeted by Suzanna again who was just as friendly and interested in our stay. We would come back to this particular hotel again.

We booked the Travelodge in Sheldon, Birmingham as we were visiting the NEC the following day. The building was a rather run down I guess 1960s type block. We had a twin room on the ground floor but a long way from reception. The room was ok for the price, very basic but clean as was the bathroom, and the beds were comfortable. The problems started the following morning. To get from our room to reception we had to pass through a fire door. The key fob was not working, and neither was the alternative physical key. We had to go out of the side door of the hotel, walk right round the outside of the building and round to the back, to get to reception. My friend has difficulty walking and found this very difficult and distressing. We had ordered the takeaway breakfast box in advance, at a cost of £11pp. When we went to collect it, it was awful, just a dry wrapped pastry, an oat bar, carton of juice and another pot of cornflakes. All really inedible and disgraceful considering they cost £11. The hotel receptionist said we could take them across to the Toby restaurant and eat them there if we bought coffee, but that turned out to be untrue. So we ended up having a proper cooked breakfast in the Toby next door at a price that was cheaper than the Travelodge box! Afterwards I took the boxes back to the hotel and voiced our complaint. The receptionist was sympathetic, but couldn't give us a refund on the spot. I felt the breakfast box was a complete con and very disappointing indeed.
