Finding hairs in the sink was the first disappointment, which made us question if the room had been cleaned properly. Being woken at 3.30am by neighbouring room and being kept awake by same room until 5am. Walls are too thin - we could hear them talking and I mean exactly what was said. All rooms seem to have connecting doors, which adds to the problem. Didn't report to night porter as this could have caused further noise. Fire alarm sounded about 09.00. On leaving we past an emergency exit which was open and staff standing inside, who seemed surprised to see us. They told us that there was no emergency, it was a piece of machinery setting off alarm. Yet no staff member put themselves out to come round the rooms to tell people not to evacuate. On departure we had to wait 5-10 mins for reception to come off phone, as they were dealing with a motorhome booking query. Not receptionists fault, as obviously hotel reception staff also deal with lodge and motorhome enquiries and are not dedicated to hotel.
