Best Western the Dartmouth Hotel Golf Spa

My wife and I visited for a three day golf beak and experienced a pleasant hotel with both challenging and less demanding golf. The excellent guest interfacing staff rescued and enhanced the experience despite limited selection of breakfast average dinner quality and reluctance of kitchen to fillet fish.

Hotel was dirty and tired the check in procedures where poor and lead to unnecessary delays bar staff and waiters did not have a clue what was going on. The clean cups were dirty and the toaster did not work properly, everybody she make more than the minimal effort.

Big thank you to Lynne for a fantastic massage. Lovely spa, everyone very friendly. Lynne was great she suggested a treatment I’d like and it was very relaxing. Highly recommend! Also recommended some products to help with a trouble area. 10/10

Fabulous stay. Alison and Megan on reception were great hosts. Knowledgeable, friendly and fun to chat with. Breakfast was well above average. Always hot and a full choice of everything you need for a hot breakfast. Rooms were good with large fluffy towels. Quiet area so car is essential for moving around. On saying that it was good for getting to local seaside areas. Certainly will stop there again next year. No down points at all. Keith Birmingham

All staff were friendly and polite. There were a nimber of staff who went above and beyond, cant fault the staff in anh way. Main Hotel is jndertaking a spruce up, all clean and functioning just a little dated. Outside main Hitel, the facade and entrance could do with a revamp.

I was really impressed with my stay. My room was spacious, and spotlessly clean. The bathroom shower was excellent. If you are tempted to stay, ignore any negative reviews as it's really nice here. I didn't hear any other guests moving around. I used the spa facilities twice and found everything clean and tidy. The pool is small but was adequate for a decent swim. I will definitely return.

The hotel is surrounded on the beautiful location with a lovely restaurant. It was a shame with no fridge in the room and also one of sockets was not working.

Nice hotel and bar/restaurant area. Beautiful views over the golf course. Hotel serves also as the clubhouse and prime location for golfing break. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Quite a distance from the town so we did the town first then came later to check in and stay put for the evening. Nice spa and pool area though was children’s swim time (4-5/6) when we went and didn’t realise. But it wasn’t busy. Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna with some relaxing loungers around pool area. Room was very spacious, big superking (twins zipped) bed and modern shower room with big shower. It was a bit noisy in the early morning with either staff or guests chatting loudly walking through the corridor. (Why do people do that??) And noisy early deliveries or refuse collections from the bar/hotel so take some earplugs and you’ll be fine. Everything supplied, tea, coffee etc and they provided iron and board when we requested. There is a lift down to rooms though it’s a bit odd having to carry your belongings through the restaurant back n forth to car or to spa area from accommodation area. We had the evening meal, hanging skewer and a caesar salad and this was good too. All in all a good stay and would stay again.

All round a great hotel, decent food, great staff, beautiful surroundings. Staff at every opportunity were eager to help. Food was great, drinks were great, nice holiday feel about the whole place, Breakfast was amazing. Gym was small but air conditioned, pool was great and free for guests. Gym/pool staff/Spa were great. Bedrooms spacious but a little tired (bathroom, stained carpet), but still 7 of of 10. First impressions but later wasn't a problem.
