Semiahmoo Resort Golf & Spa, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

BAD During our stay, a power outage severely impacted nearly every aspect of the guest experience. Essential services and amenities that formed part of the accommodation purchase were unavailable for a significant portion of our stay. Specifically, we were without air conditioning, television service, Wi-Fi, room lighting, and bathroom lighting. Additionally, the gym, spa, pool facilities, and elevator service were completely unavailable. Throughout the outage, the hotel provided little to no communication regarding the situation, expected duration, or available alternatives. Poor communication. At checkout, I was advised that no refund would be provided.

This hotel was wonderful! The area is secluded, safe and quiet. It’s stunning and beautiful. The staff were all very helpful and kind. We had a great time beach combing and exploring. The location is perfect and the views are amazing. The room was very clean and very spacious. There were comfortable chairs next to the window and we enjoyed watching the seals and birds in the mornings. I think the value was really great for all the amenities and the location. We had a wonderful time at Semiahmoo for the first time and can’t wait to go back.

We (family of two adults and 2 children) visited on a March weekend, which is the off season. The Packers restaurant wasn’t open, so we ate at the Seaview Cafe, although you could go to the nearby Great Blue Heron Grill restaurant at the golf course. The cafe food was decent, and fine for breakfast, but we would have preferred a different feel for dinner. We stayed in a premium water view room with balcony, which was refurbished recently enough, and not too small for a short stay. The views were great. The beds were comfortable, although I am not a fan of such soft pillows. We enjoyed the pool, free bikes, and evening fire pits with complimentary smores. Fun to walk along the beach and see the beautiful sunsets. Overall a relaxing and fun stay. We wish there were more suite options with proper separate bedrooms, and a different feel for evening dining given all meals were in the same cafe with same all day menu.

This place is a best kept secret for regional travel. It was so amazing- the outdoor area on the beach is large and there were tons of lawn games and board games and free bikes to borrow. I wish my family came with me because it was idyllic. I ate two meals in the restaurants. They are pricey and the food was good but not great. Service was good and not overbearing. Cocktails were great. People were friendly. The rooms were large and comfortable. There were a lot of people staying with dogs which made it feel very fun and family oriented. So many places to sit and relax or sit and play games . There were smores kits for the kids and volleyball court. Well maintained property. Popular with groups and weddings. Needs a full time janitor/bellman to help people with luggage and to go around on weekends when the hotel is busy - he could empty trash cans - they were always overflowing and that was the one thing that left a poor impression . Trash overflowing in spa locker rooms as well. I had a great massage in the spa and relaxed in the hot sauna afterwards. I checked out but had access to the amenities until my evening flight. Very nice stay!

About a 3.75. Cons = facility overall needs better maintenance, kind of worn out, lack of closet space, no ironing board, shower head pressure and it seems like every 30 seconds it gets even weaker; all food, except coffee items, way overpriced. $8 for a bagel with cream cheese for example (drive 15 minutes into Blaine for most food needs), weekend room prices are overpriced. Pros = location/views, friendly staff, fitness and pool/spa, walking paths, area activities offsite.

The resort double charged us for a fee, promised to fix it, then processed the charge a third time! Multiple emails and phone calls later and "the team" is still trying to figure out what went wrong and how to process the promised refund. It should not require so much of our time and vigilance--we deserve better service. We'll avoid Semiahmoo and all Wyndham resorts in the future!

I had a wonderful overnight stay here with my sister for her 50th birthday. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. The room was phenomenal with very comfortable beds and a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. The spa facilities were immaculate and the Himalayan salt massages were extremely relaxing. Our massage therapists were both very, very friendly and extremely good at what they do. We enjoyed the halibut sandwiches at the café and lovely coffees in the morning with pastries. Every staff member that we encountered was extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly, and we look forward to returning again

Such an amazing location! Shout out to John, the food and beverage manager, along with Amy, Natasha and Paige, who were absolutely wonderful. They were very professional and helpful and just so friendly! Amy and John truly made our anniversary dinner extra special by their attentiveness and smiles!

The location is amazing, but the bar staff needs better training—particularly Jonny. Within 10 minutes of the wedding after-party, he cut off several men while continuing to serve women who appeared noticeably more intoxicated. The inconsistent and seemingly gender-based treatment felt unprofessional and discriminatory. I would not recommend ANYONE to use this venue.
