The air conditioning in the rooms is controlled by a motion sensor, which turns off at the 30-minute point, regardless of the set temperature. When we arrived the room was very, very warm, so we dropped the temperature to where we knew we would be comfortable and left for a few hours. When we returned, it was even warmer in the room than when we started, so I turned the AC on again, only to have it drop the temp one degree and turn off. Which means, of course, that if we want it to be comfortable overnight, one of us will have to get up every thirty minutes and wave at the thermostat. Nope. Hotel personnel managed to bypass the sensor for us so we could have a comfortable night (the bed was comfortable), but I will never stay here again, based on the existence of the sensor. Absolute deal breaker. The wi-fi kicked us off every five minutes. We spent a substantial amount of time signing in over and over and over again, five minutes at a time, until we finally just gave up. We did inform hotel personnel but did not hear anything back. The bathroom door was a pocket door that would not stay open, and locked every time it rolled shut by itself. This was less of a problem when the lights were on, but managing the mechanism in the middle of the night was challenging. I finally jammed it open with a washcloth. And speaking of the lights, if you turned off certain switches (not just the 'master' switch), it turned off other things. A switch by the bathroom controlled the outlets on the desk where we were charging our phones. Imagine our delight when we woke up and found they had not charged at all because we had turned the bathroom light off.... There were a multitude of large stains on the upholstery, especially the office chair. Why do lower end hotels (although the price certainly wasn't lower end) have upholstered furniture in the first place? Use vinyl so it can be wiped off, please. Ugh. There were two rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom, both of which were nearly empty. And guess when we discovered there wasn't any more tucked away anywhere.... On a more positive note: The staff (specifically Allison, the assistant manager, and Paul, the desk person who checked us in) were probably the best, most accommodating hotel personnel I have ever encountered. Thanks to both of you for all your efforts.
